What started out as a $435 plumbing job ended becoming an $1800.00 job! Total rip off. They may arrive on time but they overcharge for their labor: $1474.28 for 4 hours!! Don't be scammed! Hire local, honest technicians that work for themselves and not the Roto-Rooter Corporation

Called by my son who is a first time homeowner. 600$ to unclog a kitchen sink is absurd! Not only that, the drain pipe could not be reattached due to age and corrosion-not their fault but quoted a range of 1200-2000K to replace the pipe and the technician said he couldn't do it. Would have to wait for someone else to come. We paid for the work done to unclog the pipe, however had to suffer the inconvenience of no kitchen drain hook up for 3 days while we waited for another company to come. Lessons learned by my son the first time home owner were to shop around and if it seems ridiculously high, send them away. Stop taking advantage of people because the reviews only make clear that you are driving business away and the prices are way more than other plumbing companies are charging.

Would not come out unless i agreed to pay for 4 hours! Took 30 minutes to unclog drain but charged for the 4 hours. What a rip off. Never call these guys!

The are elder abusers! Scam thousands out of elderly and they use fake footage to tell you you have roots when in fact you don't! They also say we'll give you a discount and still are thousands over what it should be. They do not come out on emergencies. They have so many scams going on in the Bay Area and are all over Nextdoor! The state board is finding more and more about them!

Apparently this company doesn't know what services they provide and don't provide. I called one number and asked if Roto Rooter handled exterior drain pipes - 4"" plastic. Was told yes and service was scheduled. Received a phone call an hour later saying they didn't perform that service. Called another Roto Rooter based on an advertisement stating they handled the issues I had and, once again, spelled out my problem. Customer Service agent told me that their branch did in fact handle my problem and scheduled my appt. Hung around for three hours the next morning waiting for them to arrive and then received a phone call saying that they didn't handle irrigation drains.

They are very responsive and they sent someone same day. We had Jason who explained. everything to us and their work is guaranteed several months. Jason gave us some tips on how to avoid future plumbing back ups

Try to get away from them as much as possible.
We did have an issuw with them for pipe replacement. After many calls, they found out that they installed back water valve incorrectly, so they came to fix it.
Finally I think i could feel releive now after paying them 17063.84 and my issue got solve. But Im wrong. Today I received the $1000 invoice and it was past due for 30 days. I have to.pay within 10 days or will be in collection. And I do not know what this 1000 for what service from?
They are very unprofessional, bad management. After receiving your money, they will not care you anymore. I did call to request to talk manager many times, but never it happened. Then once time I could talk to manager, he sounded very understandable, and promised call me back, but it never happened.
And now I received a bill for $1000, after paying our full bill 17063.84 through finance.
I feel bad for all technicians here, because they are very nice, helpful whether they are professional or not. I could give them 4 stars for it.
But service and management are HORRIBLE.

We have a serious leak coming from our ceiling that needs immediate attention. Called Roto-Rooter at 6pm and they said someone would be out 8pm-10pm. Yay! We waited and waited but they never arrived. Then they said they would be here 8am-10am. Now it's been over 12 hours but still we wait. They still never arrive. Then they call and they say it will be between 10 and 2. We ask more questions and then find out someone who does leak detection which we obviously need isn't available for 2 weeks! All this time we've wasted and the leak is still dripping. At that point had to use a different company but of course have to wait for them as well.

We made the mistake of not taking the sewer line insurance through our water company and, wouldn't you know it, when we started getting back-ups from our sewage line, it meant that a section of line that was patched before we owned the place had failed. 4 visits and one broken toilet replaced on their dime, later, Roto-Rooter finally diagnosed the problem and we signed a contract for them to fix it for a huge fee. We were told that it would be a 2-day job, The old addage that of good, fast, and cheep you can pick any 2? Yeah, well... Apparently, they didn't bother to schedule in advance a mandatory water district inspection and repeatedly failed to get the inspector out there after tearing up my yard and my street. The 2-day job stretched out to a full week, with holes, construction detritus, and heavy equipment in my way, the whole time. They also couldn't be bothered to communicate with me about any of these delays without me tracking THEM down, first. Did they offer a discount for my inconvenience based on their failure to plan ahead? You would think so, wouldn't you? But no. I hope the work was good, but it was neither cheap, nor fast. They don't charge extra for evening or weekend service, which is why they get 2 stars rather than one, but I will still look elsewhere for plumbing needs, in future. I will also be getting that insurance!

I had a clogged pipe and the guy came out and snaked the line, when doing so he broke my mainline causing 20k worth of damage. Not only was I sexually harassed but the guy doing the job, but he repeatedly expressed how much he hated his job and wanted to get the day over with. He had no regard for my pipes and kept saying how he had an event to get to. He then got his snake stuck in the pipe and threatened to just cut the snake because he had somewhere to be. I asked if he could call a camera guy and he went to his car and attempted to. Myself and my husband went inside to talk about the awkward encounter and then he came and knocked on the door saying he got it out.
The manager who followed up with me named joe was nice but nothing was resolved. My pipe is shot now as I have a sinkhole in the backyard, and they didn't even offer to compensate me or offer a discount.
