Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

My experience with these guys has been great. They answer the phone, they come quickly and they are nice and clean and respectful. They also do a good job fixing the plumbing :) But, the reason for my review today is, after they fixed my clogged sink and they were in the truck filling out paperwork I noticed I had a lizard inside my house. I went out and asked them if they would help, I don't think they liked it but they got the little guy and put him out in the yard-THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

I had quite the average experience. It started when I had a severe plumbing issue that occurred in my house. I called roto rooter because I remembered the jingle and when I finally got through they almost seemed bored that I was calling. There was no enthusiasm in their voices and I was disappointed that I thought they would be friendlier.

When they came to my place, it seemed as if the guy was a regular person who needed to be educated in customer service. There was no courteousness in the way he talked. After examining my plumbing issue, they were able to fix it but it took a few hours. Needless to say there was nothing that really wowed me with their services.

I always saw the Roto Rooter commercials as a kid and thought of them when I had this major plumbing problem. However I gave it a second thought after reading the reviews posted on Yelp. I gave them a try anyway because everyone else was either booked, or didn't really seem like they could do the job and you can't always trust everyone else's opinion. My downstairs toilet was overflowing every time I used a the dishwasher, washer machine or upstairs bathroom. This basically shut the house down. After calling these guys, they came fast and gave a estimate. It was a little higher than the other estimate but they were prepared to get the job done immediately. The other guys all acted like they were booked for the day. The got everything back functioning and operating. That's all I cared about and it was done.

So of all days to have a plumbing issue it happens on my fathers birthday. So I'm looking on google for a plumbing company to drain our backed up shower and I see all these companies offering $88.00 or $99.00 to drain any drain. So I call rotor rooter because it's the first one that pops up and I call to have someone come out fix my problem. I asked the lady that answered and took my appointment how much to drain my shower and she said only the technician has pricing. I said I have no choice because it needs to get fix please send someone. The guy shows up and said its $269.50!I asked him if it's supposed to be $88-$99.00 he said were not the other guys. It took him about 15-minutes to fix the clog for $275.00!!
Major rip off. It wasn't even the main line.

Have had 2 fairly recent experiences with Roto Rooter. Both times, the service techs sent out were rude, unprofessional and aggressive in trying to rip us off for more or less a run of the mill plumbing issue. Had the work done by a competitor for less than 25% of the quote Roto Rooter gave me. Never again.

This is an update of my update. Today Conrad spent about eleven hours at our home finding and fixing gas leaks. We thought we had one; we had at least four. That man worked his keister off for us. His Roto-Rooter truck even got hit in the parking lot of a parts store. What a day he had! He went under the house and also into our attic. We very much appreciated Conrad's professionalism and courtesy to us both, and all of this went on on a Saturday! We would be extremely happy to recommend Conrad and Roto-Rooter to anyone. Thank you for getting us our heat and hot water back. Yay! CONRAD IS DA MAN!

I want to start by saying the staff member that came out was kind and professional and I do not have issue with him what so ever.

My issue is simply after Roto Rooter had cleared a simple blockage in my bathroom, i was told by numerous people that i had been ripped off. I did some research as this is new to me being a new home owner and found Roto Rooter had charged more than $400 more than any other plummer i spoke to for the work they did!!
I felt completely taken advantage of.

SO...and here's where the real fun begins! I called Roto Rooter and expressed my dissatisfaction. After much discussion the person on the phone agreed to escalate the issue and said that i will receive a call back from a manager. The call back never came, so i called them back and was eventually put through to a person of authority who kindly agreed to look at refunding the difference in cost. They said they would call me back....3 days later still no call! So i called again. To save repeating myself, I have called 8 times, been told that they are willing to help, but then there is no follow up, which makes me feel more and more like i have been scammed.

I am still ""waiting"" to hear from them.

Really unprofessional Roto-Rooter and clearly lack attention to the customers experience.

DO NOT EVER USE THESE PEOPLE if you can help it, call someone else and save yourself time and aggravation. By their definition, unstopping a toilet is a drainage problem not a plumbing problem. After doing business with them I feel like I need a shower. They wanted to charge an additional $225 (on top of $165) use a camera to determine the source of the blockage. REALLY.!!!??! Never again.

Only giving a star because I have to... Roto- Rooters are the MOST unprofessional plumbing company my family & I had the chance to ever ""try"" to use!!! Called them yesterday to unclog the main trap to our house not to mention we called them at 11am & they showed up around 8pm!!! It was too late at night for them to go onto our roof & wait for the manager to come to use the $300 camera (does not include the plumbing fee... $300 for them to bring a camera to see what they would need to do! Ridiculous!!!) to get into the main trap so we called them again today at 8am & they told us they would be at our house 2-4 pm & we told the operator to MAKE SURE they make it in that time frame! Guess what... Late again & I myself had to call to find out the plumber ETA at 4pm & the operator told me he got held up at another house & he should be done soon. So we wait & get a call an hour later saying they would be between 6-7!!! NO WAYYYYYYYY~ no thank you!!! You guys aren't the only plumbers in Southern California!!! I think the commercials & big advertisements have obviously gone to your damn heads!!!

We unfortunately didn't have the pleasure of using the Long Beach branch of Roto Rooter but we did get advice from one of their plumbers. Kris Cox walked us through what to expect to get our clogged shower drain cleared. He referred us to the San Diego branch of Roto Rooter and the honest quality of service was the same as we got from Kris.

We are customers for life thanks to Kris' recommendation.
