I called Roto Rooter Nashville TN for repairs on my bathroom faucet 10 months ago, the technician replaced the tub shower and the ring, charged me $255.95 for labor + parts, today i had the same problem with the faucet, another technician named Boo came in and presented his work order authorization paper for the sum of $289.95, labor + parts, only for him to finish the job and presented a completion form for the sum of $447.55!!!I pointed to him the receipt i got for the exact same job barely 10 months ago and all he could say was that he was sorry but this is the charges for the job done today!!!

This is complete rip off!

This is not fair to say the least.I will never call this company or recommend it to anyone i know.

I hired them to fix several plumbing issues that were noted during a home inspection for a home that I recently purchased, and to install a separate ice maker line for the new refrigerator that was coming on Saturday. They were prompt and fixed several things from the home inspection report, but when it came to the ice maker, that is where it was all down hill. As it turned out, they cut out my copper line and replaced it with a piece of plastic tubing that was NOT put on a separate valve from the kitchen sink so the sink could not be used until the refrigerator was installed.

When the refrigerator was installed 3 days later, I went home only to receive an email from the HOA stating that water was leaking from my condo unit to the back alley. I rushed to the place only to find the kitchen cabinets and floor under the sink were SOAKED because the plastic tubing was leaking. The company did stand behind their hideous workmanship and immediately sent out a restoration company to cleanup the mess. Needless to say, I had to go out of town for a few days later, and I still don't know if the issues have been correct. when I left last week, the commercial fans were still trying to dry the floors and cabinets.

I appreciate the fast response, but I am totally turned off by the issue considering I just purchased the home 3 days prior to the flood, and the kitchen was recently upgraded with expensive appliances, cabinets and countertops. I would have rated the company 1 star, but they have been trying to resolve the issue.

I will be returning to the property tomorrow to see if the water damage has been repaired/corrected and the refrigerator fixed.

Richard Galvan came out to the house we are renting on a Sunday night. He was very professional and spent over an hour waiting around for the landlord and owners of the property to decide if they would go forward with fixing the plumbing. He was very patient and he did a great job. I would recommend him!

Our hot water cracked and we needed to get this fixed right away, with company coming! When I called, they gave me an estimated service time of between 10 am and 1 pm. I waited all day, which is my major complaint.

The service tech showed up at 7:30 p.m. He wasn't happy about the time either. However, Marlon was terrific. He wrestled that full water heater out to the back patio to drain it, waited while my husband went to the store for the new one (8:45 p.m.), talked to Whirlpool on the phone for me, and endured with good grace my husband watching and commenting over his shoulder. He was here until after 10 p.m., and checked all the water pressure before leaving with a smile. I was very impressed.

Our shower drain was clogged badly so we called them on a Saturday and said they will show up between 2-3.
They came within the quoted time and did the job in less than 5 minutes and charged as they said over the phone. The guy's name is Eric.
We are very pleased and will ask them again in the future if we require help with plumbing (knock on wood)...

On a Sunday night at 10pm all 3 units in my apt building started having a sewage backing up into both the bathtubs and the toilets. I called my landlord who told me the soonest he could get ""his guy"" out there was the next morning. I GOOGLED Roto Rooter since they could come out 24hrs a day. They sent Andrew out within the hour and unclogged the plumbing to all 3 units in 45 minutes and had to do it from the roof since the landlord couldnt remember where the access was. Andrew was professional and courteous. Would recommend Roto-Rooter for any emergency plumbing issues.

Spent $2200.00 to put in a 2 way cleanout on the main pipe still the problem occured within a week. so I crawled under the house and changed a pipe costing me under $20.00 and my problem was fixed.
I feel i got ripped of for about 700.00 I've since talked with other people and got prices for a 2 way cleanout 1500.00 was the average price. This company is all about making money. BEWARE!!!! Try another company. Lesson learned. Unless you have money to burn

If you want to burn $245 call Roto Rooter. Called to have a thermocouple installed, I could tell the plumber had not work on too many water heaters by him commenting on certain things.Installs it and nothing. Mentions it after the fact that the wire he installed is not the part we need for our particular problem. Why not say don't waste your time with this part its the wrong one. He charges $245 for the so call installation and told us to call him back when we get the right part. Fat chance. What ever happen to customer satisfaction guaranteed.

I am writing this review in hopes that this will either 1) force Roto Rooter to change their business practices or 2) discourage any other folks from using their services.

Roto Rooter people were great in picking up the 800 call for the business. They sent a representative out to my Aunt's home to estimate the costs of the job. The problem was quite simple and specific to ONE bathroom. The representative recommended that we should ""snake"" out the main sewer line. I asked specific if that would fix the problem in the bathroom including the draining of the bathtub.

I informed my Aunt of the costs quoted by the representative and she approved the job as long as it fixed the issues in the bathroom. The representative proceeded to task quickly. The cost for that job was about $200. Not cheap for 45 minutes of work, but a necessary evil.

When the representative finished the job, I checked the bathroom drains and noticed that there was still slow draining in the bathtub. His reply to me was ""well, it must be a venting issue that is causing the problem and that is not really plumbing"". I immediately became concerned with his response. I pushed forward with a disposition that he told me that his recommendation would fix the problem. Upon my challenging further, he decided to tell me that in order to really fix the drains in the bathroom; that he would have to ""snake out each drain"". He told me that he would only charge me for one which was about $80.

I called management and spoke with an assistant. She assured that a supervisor would call. I have yet to be contacted regarding the issues we encountered.

I just feel this is a cheap and under handed way to do business. I am no longer impressed with Roto Rooter and I intend to contact the Better Business Bureau to report this situation.

Don't Do Business with Roto Rooter. If you have to, then make sure you get a fully written estimate that includes your full expectation connected to a price point.

Also, it did not help that the representative attempted to show me that he was not cheating me for more business by letting me see the price list. He failed to cover up the bottom portion of the price list that indicated a 300% markup label for Roto Rooter services. Classless and Unprofessional!!!

I think with all the bad reviews I see below, they might have changed their name to 'A1 Plumber' or 'A1 Plumbing'. I don't usually go out of my way to post negative reviews, but I think because of what happened today - I felt I should inform others what to watch out for. This place needs to be screened by the Better Business Bureau or whatever, because they are ripping people off.

When I called, they gave me the usual sales sleaze about not giving pricing over the phone; it depends on the ""job and the plumber""; even though I described what had happened to best detail and just wanted a ballpark figure.

To their credit, they came within the 3 hour window (9-12), but after that I had the plumber look at my toilet -- I showed him the broken overflow tube and the flapper (which both cost about $5-10 at Walmart. I figured his labor would be around $60-$70, but I was willing to pay that rate because I tried fixing it earlier and broke the tube so I didn't want to make a further mess). He quoted me $350 plus $125 for the hour. I couldn't get my head around it, so I told him I'd ask my 'parents' then get back to him.

At that point I was ready to send him on his way, but he wanted to know about the garbage disposal. He was persistent, so I let him look at it and he flipped a switch on the breaker (something I hadn't tried) and it came back on. We both thought that fixed the disposal, but it had an obnoxious 'grinding' noise, so he recommended replacing it. He quoted me $400 for the new part and labor-- (again ridiculous). Again, I told him I didn't make any financial decisions, my folks did -- and we would call him again to schedule an appointment to fix everything if they liked the price.

This is where I started to get hustled. He insisted that I had to pay him $125 for his time plus a service fee of $29 for coming out. I told him he hadn't done any work, so he gave me crap about flipping the breaker on and solving the garbage disposal. I said that anyone could do that, and it did not merit $125.

He called his boss, then his boss yelled at him over the phone, told him to get my card and keep it on 'file', until my parents could pay them instead. I told him my folks were out of country and I only had a debit card, no way I could pay $125.

Around this time, I felt him starting to laugh at how ridiculous the whole thing was, so I was able to talk him out of the stupid $125 charge. I told him that neither of us make that kind of money per hour, it's a rip off, but at the same time he kept insisting that his 'knowledge' merited that $125/hr. I told him I wanted a full hour of service.

He then asked me if he should 'sweep' for me, or perform extra services til an hour was up. I just wanted him to get the hell out. He wouldn't budge. I hate these kind of people -- seriously, so much hustling. Finally I looked him in the eye and told him that he just didn't want my business. Him and his company didn't care, they just wanted to hustle over small money rather than earn business from me or any other clients (I live in a condo with over 2-300 residents). At that point he began to get scared when I mentioned I would tell everyone about his crap service, so he finally decided to go.

Even then, he still wanted something, so I finally gave him his stupid service fee. He said he should be paid his $125, so I asked him if he wanted me to divide $125 by the 1 minute he worked. He then decided he would 'help me out' by driving to Home Depot for the hour and then fix the toilet at the very least. This guy was so stubborn. Another guy in the building overheard our conversations, and told me not to trust him at all-- he had been a contractor for years and knew 'this guy' was lying and would gauge me on getting stuck in 'traffic'. So I told the plumber guy to have a nice day and walked off.

I went back to my building and found another guy who the HOA actually hires, and that guy worked out so much better-- whole process came out to $250 for both a whole new toilet (with all parts replaced) and a new quieter garbage disposal! I really think from now on, I'll just use whatever the HOA recommends and save myself the hassle of trying to hustle random plumbers from the internet. It seems like they prey on any weakness you give them; so you really have to make sure you look them dead in the eye and tell them they need to either charge a fair price or leave. Sometimes it's just better to ask them to leave, because if they're just hustling you from the start, there's no way you'd be able to trust them, and I don't want any of my business relationships to begin without trust. Beware!
