Robert and Will showed up right on time, were diligent in investigating our puzzling drain problem, and helped me figure out what our next step needs to be. RotoRooter's 15-minute limit before charging a service call minimum worked in our favor this time, which was a relief to a homeowner facing a potentially costly problem. The guys really deserve credit for being so helpful.

OK, so I know it was a Sunday...
We were babysitting our grandson while his parents attended a wedding.
Toilet backed up into the shower.
The ""technician"" spent all of 45 minutes snaking the line, and the bill after the coupon (that was supposed to be $60 and he did $40) was $364!!
THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOUR DOLLARS!
This is simply highway robbery!
Call anyone else unless you want to pay more than double.
THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS!!!

It's the second day of school in Santa Cruz. Today at 12:40, the kindergarten kids at Gault Elementary are leaving school for the second time in their lives. A Roto Rooter truck (F27) is second in line on east bound Broadway behind a motorcycle. The motorcycle is turning left onto Seabright and waiting for a group of children crossing Seabright with a crossing guard. The Roto Rooter driver is honking at the motorcycle, even after the motorcyclist is gesturing toward the children. The Roto Rooter driver continued to honk 3 or 4 more times while the motorcycle waits for his proper turn with respect to right of way rules. Once the motorcycle turns, the Roto Rooter driver speeds off down Broadway, well in excess of the 25mph school zone limit. No a good example in any way and a terrible reflection on Roto Rooter. Probably would not use them before, definitely not now!

I called Roto Rooter this morning as my garbage disposal was not working. I was expecting to get an appointment sometime this week, but was pleasantly surprised that they said they could come out today! The technician, Aaron Dye, not only instantly fixed my problem, he was the nicest, most helpful technician ever. He educated me on what to do if this ever happens again. He was generous with his time and very patient. I had no idea that Roto Rooter was such a great company. I thought that they would charge a fortune to come to my house no matter how easy it was to fix the problem. Aaron did not charge me at all! I will not hesitate to call Roto Rooter in the future as I now know that they do not take advantage of folks and really are there to help! I will also be recommending them to friends with plumbing problems. I certainly appreciate Aaron's kindness and skill.

I am very impressed with the excellent services provided by service technician Aaron Dye from Roto-Rooter at Santa Cruz . He responded to our call on Saturday coming in a few hours after we called. He came back again the next day (Sunday) to fix our kitchen sink blocking & leaking emergency. We had been dealing with the same issue before, and the way how he handled this matter is much more skillful, efficient, right to the point & fix it pretty thoroughly. The price is very reasonable too! We'll definitely use Roto-Rooter service again if we have plumbing problems.

Schedule a visit in one day, received a phone call half hour before showing up, showed up on time. Aaron was very professional, honest and got the job done!

My wife and I discovered that our kitchen sink was clogged and, out of frustration, I realized we needed some professional help. Roto-Rooter responded to my call and let me know that Aaron was twenty minutes out. He showed up as promised, explained to me the charges and got right to work. He kept the work area pretty darn clean, was very efficient and in a very short time had everything working perfectly. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

We had a clogged drain and standing water in the shower, they had someone over immediately to fix it and even waived the fee because we had a recent service with them. Aaron was our tech and so personable, quick and really respectful of my 2 sleeping kids and all the tip toeing about.

I made the mistake of calling the big company, because I thought I would get a fair estimate. I know a little bit about the issue so I could easily determine if I was going to be ripped off based on the estimate. The issue was a subterranean drain that was sort of clogged and needed to be unclogged using a rooter machine or a camera to determine the exact problem.

Two complete jokers showed up at the house while my wife was there and I was away. They didn't even look at the subterranean drainage issue or give an estimate to snake/rooter/camera it. Instead, they literally suggested to my wife a ""quick fix/band-aide."" The suggestion: that they take MY left over material (French drainage piping) from another downspout, cut it in half and then reattach it to the problem downspout to extend the drainage into the yard instead of allowing it to drain into the clogged subterranean drainage. Actually, not so bad an idea except for further problems that it would definitely lead to.

Here is where the company turns into a joke and why I called them jokers. They gave my wife with a crying baby in her arms the quote. Keep in mind this ""quick fix"" would take a total of 10 minutes tops. The quote... $350. This company should be ashamed at their lack of ethics and their willingness to fully rip off a mom with her crying baby (I guess this is their target customer). If my wife didn't have me, the two jokers would have actually charged $350 for 10 minutes of work. Long story short, she sent them on their way. I suggest you try to find a trusted local plumber through a neighbor or friend.

TERRIBLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. We will NEVER use this company again. We called three separate times for a backed up shower, and were transferred to multiple, very rude dispatchers before we were given a 6 HOUR WINDOW of when to expect them. As the sixth hour approached, and still no-one had shown up, we contacted them again, only to be told they had no idea when someone would be available. We spoke with the Dispatch Supervisor, Jay Parker, who tried to tell us they'd tried calling- and then referenced a phone number that wasn't associated with us at all. He was not only unhelpful, but made us as the customer feel like we were in the wrong. At this point we ended up canceling the entire request because we were so disappointed in the lack of service and extremely unprofessional customer service.
