BEWARE!!! WORST business in monterey. I have a small home in pacific grove, and occasionally I get a clog. (About every 10 years) This time I called rotor rooter because my other reliable plumber had retired. Thinking roto-rooter would be a good match for this small clog. Well after their first visit it took about 2 days for the clog to reappear, after their second visit which again I had to pay for because no guarantees were on the first visit. The clog reappeared, About two weeks later.Their third visit again I had to again pay. $140 each visit. Not sure how long it will stay clear now. I called the owner who was unbelievably rude and rotten over they phone, (she sounds like a raspy 90 year smoker) she is very money hungry and customer service is dead according to her. After she accused me of not ""understanding"" plumbing and verbally abused me over the phone. She hung up on me. All who read this need to Beware and stay clear of this roto rooter! !!!

In my 50 years on this earth, I have never been treated with such disrespect, coupled with incessant insults. Conversation started out with ""your wife is a liar""... Let me start from the beginning....

Roto rooter has been out to our house 3 times in a 6 week period.. The last visit was last week and only 2 weeks after the previous visit..
After this last visit the Roto-Rooter man said there would be no charge, and we left. He stated the reason there was no charge was because they had just come to the house for the same repair 2 weeks earlier. They fixed it in 5 minutes and were on their way.
Fast forward, here comes a 130 dollar bill in the mail.. Phone call by my wife with owner. Owner says to my wife, ""you are a liar, we never said that you wouldn't be billed.""
Money has never been an issue here, and we would of gladly paid for services. Point is, we were all told, including the tenants, that there would be no charge, no charge at all..
So after being called ignorant, and a liar, I told them they would be receiving a letter from my lawyer..
Unbelievable.. I do believe that some people need to take an adult pragmatics class in appropriate manners.. What happened to decency and appropriate phone etiquette..

.Now we are left with verbal abuse by the owner of this company and a fabricated bill... Roto rooter really needs to clean their own pipeline full of incompetent employees, disturbed owners and poor pragmatics.

I give them an Failing grade on all levels, job performance, customer service skills, accounting, and administrative integrity..

Called and said they can't get here for another few hours. That's fine, still quicker than other places. Called me back 45 min later to tell me that they are all booked for today and no one will be coming. This is after I canceled with the other plumber that couldn't get here till later. Now the other plumber is booked and I got a house full of water. Thanks for your incompetence.

Love to support our small local companies but in this case, I can no longer do so. The woman who handles the phones is just too unprofessional to deal with. No issue with plumbing services but this gate keeper is one who I choose not to interact with again.

When our kitchen drain plugged on a Sunday, the technician responded quickly. Unfortunately, they broke the drain pipe and flooded the wall. I understand that general plumbing policy doesn't accept responsibility for this, which is fine.

We called another plumber who fixed the pipe, and then actually cleared the plug without breaking it further.

I'd give them one star because they didn't actually clear the plug, but gave them another because the phone reps and technician were very personable.

Sam came out and fixed my clogged toilet and my problem with draining the water from the garbage disposal part of my kitchen sink. Sam found and corrected the problems the pumber I called a couple of months ago created when he unclogged a sink drain - but the previous plumber added new pipes that clogged up the drainage in one side of the sink.. Sam was great - on time- pleasant- and all the drains in my house finally work. I'm having the same company come back tomorrow to camera shoot the drains in my old house and give me an estimate about what they will need to do to upgrade the sewer lines in my old house. Service overall was great and I'll definitely call them again if I ever have a problem.

I'd give more than 5 stars if I could - they were fantastic!! Noticed a bathroom sink was badly clogged and within a few hours they had someone at my house to fix it. He was in and out of there in less than 45 minutes. The next day I opened the shower curtain and the shower is about 1/4 way full of dirty water. When I ran the sink, you could see the water coming up in to the tub as if the blockage really wasn't completely cleared. Unfortunately, this was a Saturday so the emergency fee applied. Someone came out VERY quickly, fixed it again in less than 45 minutes and Monday morning I received a call that there would be NO CHARGE for the Saturday service!! Fantastic customer service, and both technicians who came to my home were very professional and knowledgeable. 10 stars!!

This company only wants your money- They do not care about follow up or customer service. Do NOT use this company. They were called several times to clean out rooted lines over several years, then suggested that I pay to have a camera go in to the line to find the problem and fix it. They flagged the lines, but never gave me a quote for the repair cost, or a description of the problem. When we tried to make the repair using the flags, the lines were not where the flags were placed. They booked an appointment and gave me a price to return to locate the lines, then the morning of the appointment I received a rude phone call from ""Jeannie"" to cancel the appointment, arguing that I did not pay them enough for the first location. I told her I paid the amount that was quoted, and she said that it wasn't enough and that the job was not worth their time to return. Now I am paying a second company to start over after wasted time and money with a crew digging up my entire yard to find the lines.
I will NEVER use this company again-

By far one of the WORST experiences ever. I normally love to review about great experiences, especially when businesses try to go above and beyond to satisfy customers, but I must say, Roto-Rooter just doesnt care about their clients, they just want money. I had called these guys to fix a problem, but ended up doing a horrible job which required me to call them again THREE times later for the SAME problem. Of course, they charged me an arm and a leg each time. After calling a fourth time for the same problem, the owner starts yelling at me saying that I have no idea what I am talking about. Great customer service right? Save the trouble, and the money, and use another plumbing service. I cannot fathom how horrible Roto-Rooter is.

Ramiro might be a good plumber, but his ethics are questionable as are the owner's. Adding reason for system clog after homeowner has signed the invoice is not a good business practice. Will never use their services again.
