We experienced a backed up toilet (the only one in the house as the other was disabled due to remodel) at 4:00 AM. Called Roto-Rooter through the 24-hour service listed on the Internet. It took a while, but we did get a response and a visit from a very courteous plumber - who within two minutes determined that our ""unclogging"" would be at least $1,200.00! We had to sign a work order for that amount before he would proceed. At the end of the service call, we were presented with a bill for $1,678.00!! To snake a toilet!!! We paid it and felt sick for days. We have since had two reputable licensed plumbers tell us that we were basically cheated. Maybe so, or maybe not - but at the very least we were horribly overcharged - but in a position of having to have the work done. I contacted the firm to ask for a refund of all charges over the $1,200.00 we signed for. No response except a ""thank you for your business"" card. We feel that we were taken advantage of and we will never do business with this company in the future. We advise others to look elsewhere for their plumbing needs.

Massive clog in our main and called Roto Rooter because we had a great experience with Chuck in the past. Chuck and Daniel came out same day, at the time they quoted and did a great job. Super friendly. Even gave us a $75 discount. Pulled things away from the wall in the garage to get to our plug, cleaned up the gross water that came along with the job and put things back when they were done.

Wow...used these guys many times (knew it was family but I didn't know they had recently sold to someone else) and they were always top notch and affordable. Now had RR come out to fix a leaky shower faucet and was given an estimate of $350!! Service guy was awesome, but I couldn't justify that much $$ to change out valve stems/seats that was done before for around $80. I'll have to look around for another local/family run operation. Anyone know if the old owners have a new business?

We've used Roto Rooter for years to clean our drains. The price was always around $100. The guy shows up and now the price is $295 for the same service. Service was excellent, but from now on I'm going to be using another company.

Our septic backed up into the house ewww. We called Roto-Rooter.
They came out the same day (extra stars for them), but then the tech said he needed a bigger machine.
Off he went and came back later with the ""big"" machine. After he used the ""big"" machine, he said that he felt roots. For the work he did he charged us $1300. Then he told us they needed to run a camera down for another $500 to see where the roots were. He mentioned that he would come on Weds but would have the office confirm availability. After thinking about it and reading their yelps we decided not to do it. We called to cancel, and the office (who had never confirmed the appointment as stated) said they had no appointment. We told the lady that we would call later to schedule the camera service. So we thought cool!--no appointment, no problem. 10 minutes later we get a call
from the tech that they were on their way! (Weird, when we called to
cancel...suddenly a tech calls. Coincidence? I think not!) We called
back and asked the office to call them and cancel. (funny didn't
have an appointment until after we called the office). This is the second time I have used their services. The first time was in 11/2016. The tech cleared out my line using the ""small"" machine, and it only cost $114.30 which I thought was very reasonable (5 stars for that particular service), and this is why I called them this time. It is hard to believe that a little over one year later and using the ""big"" machine would cost over 10 times as much! Lesson: you can shear a sheep twice a year but skin it only once in its lifetime! I will not use them a third time.

We noticed signs that our main sewer line may be clogged when our toilet started gurgling. then drains wouldn't go down at all. I ran a 75 foot line down myself with a cutter head on it and couldn't get it out through the kitchen cleanout. I then called roto rooter... I scheduled 6 pm. and got home in time from work to make the appointment. he didn't show until 7:30. no call to let me know. I had to call. when he got there HE was a nice guy, but he quoted 975 to run a camera after blowing it out with a jetter for a grand total of 1300 dollars. JUST to see in there. not to fix it. then to fix it at best would be 295 on top of that. I said I couldn't drop that kind of money today, and he suggested running the cable down through the 2 inch like I did. he said if it didn't help it would be 40 bucks. if it DID it would be 295... OK I did that, nothing worked, and I gave him 40 bucks...

I then called Classic Drains... ( another reviewer suggested them here ) the nicest, fastest, most helpful company... a nice guy Brian came out... pulled my toilet off, and ran 100 foot of heavy cable with a 3 inch head on it and 95 feet in BAM.. got through the clog and my plumbing works fantastic once again. for 153 dollars...

don't fall for the gimmick that the roto rooter guys are trained to do. it makes them a lot of money, and while it works... it isn't necessary. It scares me to think of the thousands people pay when they didn't have to.

I will never use this service again. Every year I have a city tree that grows roots and I just need it cleaned out. This tech came out and first of all my appointment was between 1 and 2 and he showed up at 10:30. someone was luckily home. Then he asked me if I wanted the line water jetted or regular, I asked which was better and he said water jetted. When he was getting starter , he said ""oh forgot to tell you it's 800.00"". Then he said the line was broken and he would need to send the camera in 1200.00.. I told him forget it...had classic drains and plumbing out, cleaned line 135.00...roto rooter just wants you to pay for services you don't need. Don't trust them

Prices increased 75% from summer 2016 to 2017. When I requested to speak with a manager, I never received a call back and no response when I emailed the corp. office. We will never use this company again.

Scheduled an appointment for 9AM and at 11AM still no show. No call saying they'd be late or couldn't make it. I called and explained I was still waiting and all they responded with was ,""what would you like to do?"" Wish i said I'd like to teach you some customer service and phone etiquette, but instead I said to make sure my appointment was ""canceled"". Don't need some yo-yo from this joke of a business showing up. 1 star because I couldn't rate any lower

I had them come out and clear the back up in my sewer line. They did a great job cleaned it out in 15 minutes. However they charged me $235 for 15 minutes of work. I understand they have to have an hourly rate, but what they are charging is ridiculous. They are stealing and taking advantage of people. I called a union shop after the fact to find out their pricing, which was $119 and hour and 178.50 for overtime hours. For this company to charge $120 more than their competition is absolutely not right. We will never use them again..
They will not give you a price over the phone, which isn't right.
When I called to complain the manager did make it right. He returned my check and charged me $100 instead of the original price..
