Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I requested a tech come out same day through their online portal and received a prompt response and was able to get a tech out within a few hours of my initial request to clear a tub drain. The tech spent about 30-45 minutes and sort-of cleared the tub drain. He told me that he could only get his snake down the drain about 2 feet then ""hit something hard and it wouldn't go any further"" and it would be another $500 to get his camera out to see what his snake was hitting. I told him no way and to just do what he could, which he did and I guess it cleared the drain enough to get the water to go down. But for the $355 that I paid I was anticipating a full drain clearing. I will not be using them again, way too expensive for what you get.

(update) we bought a drain camera on amazon for $35 and looked down the drain ourselves, turns out his snake was just to big to go down our pipes and we were able to clean it out ourselves with a harbor freight snake for 40 bucks. I will never use these guys again total ripoff. (I'm keeping this review as 2 star instead of 1 because the tech was polite and on time)

Noor Bashardost a field technician did an excellent job of fixing our plugged kitchen sink drain. He was fast, efficient and cleanup up everything. He and his coworker new exactly what to do, got the right equipment from their truck and got it done for us. Big relief!

I am had the same issues a lot of the other negative reviewers have posted. The service technician was prompt and on time. However, all he was required to do was to reattach my garbage disposal, which somehow came loose and check the lines under the sink coming out of the disposal to make sure nothing was leaking. The service was very basic and took 15 minutes but I was charged $392.00. That's way too high for the task but I couldn't wait until next week for this to be seen. Later today, after running the dishwasher, one of the connections must be loose and there are still puddles of water under my sink from the loose connection.

Props to the woman that took my initial call to take the appt. Very profession and competent. But your plumbers charge more than my doctors!

We had the worst experience ever. We had an appointment for ""afternoon"" and called back toward the end of afternoon and were told that we were next in line. We called an hour after ""afternoon"" and we told, again, that we were next in line. When we asked if we were looking at tomorrow, we were informed that, ""No, we keep working till the appointments are done. "" No one came or called. Then the next morning we were told that they never spoke to us telling us we were the next in line. AND, they would not honor the appointment and we were told it would be an emergency service call. Rotor Rooter is the worst. And the woman who answers the phone is a liar and is rude.

DO NOT USE!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. 1 is WAY too many!! I contacted Roto-Rooter online on Monday, 10/23/23 and I received an email confirmation that said they would be at our house on Tuesday, 10/24/23. I received a call Tuesday, 10/24/23 a little after 4PM that said a tech was running late but would be there. No one showed up!!!

I received a call from Roto Rooter that night AFTER 11PM telling me a tech would be there Wednesday, 10/25/23 during the day between 9-1. That phone call woke me up and angered me because I had to be up the next morning at 5AM. What business makes call at that time of night?

Chad (2730) got there around 5 or 6PM on Wednesday, 10/25 and checked out our pipe outside of the garage because it was leaking water. He snaked it and said we had 24 hours to call if anything happened. That ticket # is 25438045.

That night my husband did a load of laundry and the water came out of the pipe again. On Thursday morning, 10/26/23 I called the number that we were given (1-800-GET-ROTO) and was told a tech would be there between 9A-1P. I received an email confirmation that sad a tech would be at our house between 10:38-12:38 (Ticket #: 25446487). No one showed up!!!


I received a call that evening that said someone would be at our house that next day (Friday, 10/27/23) between 9-1. AGAIN...No one showed up!!!


This is beyond unprofessional and is INFURIATAING. Imagine paying over $400 for that type of horrible service and not one person reaching back out. We want a resolution or a refund. Because while Roto-Rooter is not showing up, the water is still coming into our garage.

WORST COMPANY EVER DO NOT USE THEM they charge 3 times the amount and didnt even fix the problem. they are awful and ripped me off I am a single mom and they wouldnt even refund after i had to hire and pay another plumber that fixed it in all of 30 minutes for a third of the cost and i have never had issue again. when i called to ask for even a partial refund they said no we dont care that it didnt fix it and we do not think i ""deserve"" a refund. After seeing all these reviews I wish I had of done this first most people a negative thing to say. Call CGS they are amazing and who I used.

They are high cost and over priced for a 5 minutes job! They don't know how to fix things and the made it worst! Three times and the didn't fix what they broke and avoided to fix my issue. I want my money refunded.

We were in a hurry to fix a broken faucet pipe outside our home. It was a hose faucet that stood about 4 feet high with the spigot on the end. It was bent when moving something which cracked it near the bottom and so we had to turn off the water to the house because it was gushing out.
All he did was cut it below the crack and put some kind of clamp over the top. $500.00 RIDICULOUS!!! I had to leave otherwise I would have sent him away and found someone else and I know it would have been more reasonable. Never Again. I am in Covina ca I don't know why it says San Francisco. I changed their theme song a little bit now it goes like "" Call Roto Rooter that's the name and away goes your money down the drain"".

We are very satisfied with our service provider and the outcome . It wasn't an easy job, but our provider knew exactly what to do - worked very hard and was very prompt in getting to us - in spite of the late hour

They tried to talk me into an unnecessary crazy expensive procedure even without having thoroughly looked into my issue beforehand. Followed up with SMS designed to scare me into doing it. Wanted 9k (as their more affordable option) for what another (definitely not cheap) plumber fixed for 2,5k.
