The guy who came to the house gave me an outrageously high price quote without even going into the basement to look at the plumbing issue. A waste of time!

I contacted my local Roto Rooter (Los Angeles) for a clogged kitchen drain on Sunday, January 30. I fully expected a surcharge because it was a weekend but when the plumber got to my home, he immediately quoted $550(!). When I balked, he lowered it to $450 right away which was still too much. He asked me how much I was willing to pay and, being put on the spot, I said $200. He called his manager on speakerphone (making sure the person on the other end of the line knew I was listening) and received approval for the $200. I should say that the plumber was great other than this. He spent about two hours trying to fix my problem but was ultimately unsuccessful.

I find it hard to believe that Roto Rooter condones this very underhanded, sneaky and dishonest way of doing business. I hope that this is not their company policy to gouge their customers. I imagine some would agree to these outrageous rates because they need their problem fixed and the plumber is already there. It's taking advantage of people in a vulnerable position and is, frankly, despicable. I've reported this to the Better Business Bureau warning others of these business practices.

Hours late to the appt. Significantly overcharged us. Don't bother - hire a local plumber who cares.

Will never use Roto-Rooter again. I called to have someone fix my water heater. I was told a technician will come out the next day from 3-7pm. Called about 3:15 to check for ET. Was told probably within the next half hour. Waited and then got a call that they were behind and it was going to be a later than they thought. Got another call around 7pm and was told it was going to be yet another couple of hours and was asked if I still wanted someone that late to come out. Said yes. Got my last call around 9:30pm and was told there was no one available for the rest of the night!!!. I said if I would have known I would have called someone else because I had a house guest coming to stay over the next day. Ugh.

Awful. I called for service, and was told a technician would be at my home within 2 hours. I ended waiting for over 5 hours.

They lie about how soon they will arrive in order to book your appointment and take no responsibility when they leave you waiting.

And they are finally hear and ridiculously expensive. I wish I could give them negative stars because they deserve it

We needed Roto-Rooter badly and called 323-465-3012. I cannot tell if this is the right location. We know it is hard to get a plumber during Covid. Calling others at 9 am on a Saturday, gave us a Monday response time, which obviously would not work without use of toilets. We were told by Roto-Rooter 10 am to 2 pm. That time kept getting extended because they were so busy. At around 4:15, I called and asked what time we could expect service. Customer service is top notch. I talked with caring people, and eventually with Elle, a dispatch supervisor who was attentive and solved our problem. At 5:25 pm, the plumber arrived. Elle actually followed up at 5:45. In these days, follow up is not often done. We appreciate that the plumber fixed the problem temporarily and the rest will be fixed this week. We also appreciate the great customer service.

Our kitchen sink was clogged. We called Roto-rooter & we ask how much it was going to cost. The guy on the phone said, when we get there we will give you the price & we have the option to refuse service if we don't like the price.

The Roto-rooter guy comes, I showed him the back opening of our kitchen drain. I asked him how much will it cost. He told me $405.00, I almost drop to the ground. I told him that I can't afford him & I don't want the service. Then he lower down the fee to $200. I still told him I can't afford him. He said, ""what do you expect the price is going to be?"" I answered him between $100 to $150. He said he'll do it for $150, just because he is there already.

He did the job. He did a good job. Sink drain is working but when I was paying. He told that he doesn't guarantee his work because I paid a discount price of $150. If I knew he was going to do that, I could have called someone else.

Warning: watch for this kind of service. Ask before they start the job never again I will call Ro-rooter.

Roto Rooter plumber Lomeli came out on such short notice to fix our plumbing issue. Our downstairs toilet line was clogged and our laundry washer was draining and overflowing out of that toilet. He diagnosed the issue and quickly solved the problem by using his auger to break up the clog and get the drainage working properly again. Lomeli was very professional and quick!

I got hustles out of 14500 dollars. We were going through a family emergency at the time our plumbing went out. My mother-in-law had a stroke and doctors had to perform an emergency brain surgery. I trusted Jacob the gentleman that came out and quoted me. As, I am reflecting and I am more clear headed I am looking at the massive bill and thinking ""wow what a rip of"".

Rip off. Overcharged & the first tech who inspected my toilet was dishonest. He quoted 60% up charge. The next guy from this same company charged me way less. Will never go back. I've been meaning to write this review as the service was done a couple of months ago. You're better off going to a moms & pops.
