If you are lucky enough to have Plumber Jeremy show up you are in good hands! He is respectful, knowledgeable and has an upstanding work ethic. He explains every step and keeps you updated. He cleans up after his work and provides excellent customer service! Root Rooter give this man a raise because he is all that your employees should aspire to be! Thank you Jeremy!

They never showed up after multiple calls saying they would be there between certain times!

Santa Rosa Roto-Rooter employees Gabe Ateneio and Jose Avalos are five star employees. We had water leaking in our garage do to a pipe backup issue. Gabe & Jose arrived at the scheduled time, we're knowledgeable & very courteous. They discovered the source of the problem, did the repairs in a timely manner and did not leave until they were sure the problem was solved. We appreciate their service and kindness.

Had them out twice for a blocked line within a month period, and they charged me for the second visit. Apparently they don't guarantee their work if they have to go through the toilet, like they did at our house. When the problem continued, I decided to have the line scoped and called Mr.Rooter (at a friend's recommendation-they'd replaced her sewer pipe) because I was tired of forking out money to Roto Rooter. Mr. Rooter's tech arrived half an hour after I called. He was very professional, answered all my questions, and even talked on the phone to our regular plumber to clarify what he found with the scope. The tech also told me they guarantee their work for a year no matter what so I'm wishing I'd gone that route from the beginning.

Our pool's overflow drain was clogged and we needed help. During the last rain in December, water backed up into our pool cover's J-box and there went the electrical. Pool Covers Inc (another good company) discovered this issue. Having never used Roter Rooter and with no recommendation, we crossed our fingers. Out comes Steve with Roter Rooter. The first impression was can he do the job? He more than did the job right. Steve's determination to figure out what was backing up our pool drain was impressive. He kept trying different ways and at the same time explaining what he was doing and why. Finally, another drain was found that we had no idea was there and with this new knowledge, Steve's determination was even more solidified to clear the drain. AND THAT HE DID. He extracted nearly a six foot root mass from the drain. Thank goodness for our new best friend, Steve. Gooooo Roter Rooter!

My tenant called around 9:00 pm on a Friday night to say that the sewer line for 3 apartments was blocked, which to me is an emergency. I called Roto Rooter and by 9:30 I was confident that a plumber was on his way. By 11 pm no one showed up so I called the dispatcher to check and she assured me that he was enroute and would call me once he had a chance to figure out what the problem was.
By 1:00 am I couldn't keep my eyes open and went to bed, figured he would leave me a message. Woke up at 7 am and there were no calls, so I emailed my tenant to find out what happened. She told me that in the middle of the night he called her to say that he couldn't find the house so he turned around and went home, and was calling from there to say he wasn't coming.
Was it too much to ask for him to simply call either my tenant or me for directions? This company charges $229/hr and don't show up for emergency service??? Seriously? How unprofessional. The next morning I called another company, the plumber showed up when scheduled and was 30% cheaper.

I have to give roto-rooter 5 stars because I have a rental unit where the tenants always flush more than the obvious down the toilet and get the waste line all jammed up. Jeremy came out again yesterday to clean up after idiot tenants, and he is great' He is a great trouble shooter and wasted no time in getting the problem taken care of and goes beyond the call to boot!

We received a quote from Roto-Rooter in Santa Rosa to replace 60 linear feet of sewer line due to a ""break"" found in the line, blocked by roots. The quote was for $5,600.00. We had another plumber assess the pipe - he checked to be sure there were no breaks or missing pieces in the pipe, cut out the roots which were at a joint, told us the pipe was intact and did not need replacing, checked to be sure the line was clear all the way to the main and charged us $427.50. Problem solved. Very disappointing. We almost wasted over $5,000.00 on work that did not need to be done.

I first called a different plumber with a five star rating, but had to leave a message. I was in a hurry so called these folks instead. Steve came out 45 minutes and was great. The job was done in under an hour and I was not charged for travel time. About the time he was wrapping up the work the first place called me back. Too late! In addition to getting the line unclogged, Steve gave my neighbor some advice on his septic system, too. He was very polite, explained things clearly. I definitely would recommend these folks.

Do not use this service. They do not stand by their work and are duplicitous in their actions and communication apparently both during and after the service is performed. When my toilets overflowed when I ran my washing machine in my new house, I placed a service call to them. They came out the next day with two men and a machine to pull the toilet and clear the main to find what was clogging the drain. After four hours (2 men x 2 hours) and a $560 bill, they showed me a large root ball about the size of a small soccer ball and said I was fine and that they had cleared the main. Two days later when I ran the washing machine, the toilets bubbled and overflowed again. When I called the manager, he said that they only identified that ""I have a problem and that I can't blame Roto Rooter because my pipe is broken."" When the men finished their service call, they clearly told me I was fine for now but that I would need to install a clean out and dig up the line."" When I asked him how soon I needed to do that, he said ""sooner rather than later"" because the roots would grow back because of the compromised main. The invoice that I signed says: Job description: ""Cleared main from removed front toilet. With two men ran cable 45' before clearing. Got stuck every time. All clear."" Under Recommendation it says: ""Dig up line and install cleanout."" The manager did point out that I had signed the invoice which meant that I should have seen that where it said ""Guarantee"" they had indicated ""NO, very rough spot."" My position is that a) I was under the very clear understanding that the situation was resolved for the meantime and b) they should have pointed out the work was not guaranteed. I will not use Roto Rooter again and interestingly enough I was advised NOT to use them by a neighbor due to this kind of poor customer service, high rates and ineffectiveness.
