I called Roto rooted and asked for a bid
They told me I would get one when the tech arrived. It was a minor leak. The tech said the minimum charge was $300 plus parts. I sent him away and called a local plumber. He saw that the toilet tank was not properly installed and quickly fixed it. He gladly accepted $150 for his work. When in doubt, call a qualified Immigrant plumber.

Wow, our kitchen sink was backed up and it was 4th of July weekend. Andrew arrived earlier than he was scheduled . Andrew was so polite as he clearly explained what the problem was and what he could do to resolve it. Andrew demonstrated a high level of knowledge and expertise in his field of work.

Andrew cleared the clog very quickly and took extra time to ensure it was resolved . I was also impressed in the way Andrew worked efficiently and neatly and he carefully cleaned up anything that did spill on the floor.

I believe Roto-Rooter Plumbing should be very pleased to have someone such as Andrew Barone working for them and representing them in such an outstanding professional manner.

Pros:
Readily available when you need them in a pinch. Typically a two hour window which is very helpful when experiencing a plumping issue. The guys doing the dirty work are very polite and somewhat knowledgeable. The prices are straightforward despite being a bit high, but that's just industry standard.

Cons and our experience:
We had company visiting and we experienced a blockage. Classic.

We made sure to locate and uncover our access drain pipe in our landscaping before calling RR out. Had a nice guy come out and he explained that due to location of blockage seen on first look, he'd need to do the work from back of house clean o ut. Made perfect sense to us. We walked to back and pointed to the 'thing' and he told us it was not it. With that, we'd need to access via a toilet and toilet removal and clean out was an additional ~$200 charge. We agreed since that was the only option. Clean out was complete and we were back in business. The next step was to have another tech out to do the pipe camera work to diagnose the issue, which happened two days later. That crew spotted and utilized back clean out right away. It was the same one in question on first visit. They even asked 'why did you need to have the toilet removed?'. Great question, but a fixable business issue. Right?

I called RR to request a price adjustment, asking only to remove the extra charges for toilet removal option, seeing as how the toilet removal wasn't actually necessary and we paid a few hundred extra for it. I had to call 7 times to get a call back from management. That call back from management was the real treat. Someone named ROD (I'll save my joke) called and had a condescending tone from the moment he introduced himself. He opened up the call as if he didn't know what I was asking for, only to immediately demonstrate the he knew exactly why I had called. After speaking to me like I was the expert that made the mistake, he generously offered to 'split the difference' with me since we approved the toilet removal work. I explained to him that that was not satisfactory being that it was approved worked based solely on that fact that I trusted that the toilet removal was the only option. He then said 'well you seem very frustrated, what is it that you DO want?', which was just more condescension... for perhaps continuity? It was 100% clear cut what I wanted. He finally agreed to it and hung up on me BEFORE I could also let him know we still haven't received the camera work that we paid for. Charge on my card still says $668, and I will update based on if/when I get the $220 refunded.

Rooter at your own risk, but be informed.

$1400 Oversharge!!! We were about to sell our home in Feb 2022. Called Roto Rooter in a pinch and needed the service done to flush the sewage pipes that weekend for our small single storey older home. Well, they charged us $2500 for this service as it was a camera guided inspection/water flush. Never having had to do this type of treatment before and. being on a tight timeline we were fooled into believing this was the market price for the service by the technician from Roto Rooter. We found out the very next week how much we were overcharged when we received a competitor's written estimate for the identical service priced for less than$1100 . This was. sent to us by the buyer's agent based on their plumbing inspection .
I tried to call Roto Rooter repeatedly(March 1st, 2nd) and emailed their technician too out of desperation on March 15th 2022 as I didn't have any other email id for them . I provided. him with an electronic copy of a competitors' written quote to highlight how grossly RotoCo had overcharged us, but this was to no avail. My calls went unanswered . The customer service agent even refused to provide me with an email id stating"" No email id for customer complaints"". You just have to wait for the Manager to call you back. The call of course never came :/
Needless to say, this has been an expensive learning experience and I will never use this service again.
