We had a clogged drain. Service Technician Arnulfo Huerta came and fixed it. He was smart, gentle, informative, tidy, and explained everything he did to me, and what we should watch out for in the future. The only problem was the price: $440 to snake the drain and treat it with enzymes--you have to buy the enzymes, and the price was $59. He did tell me up front how much a visit would cost, so it was no surprise. I hope the enzymes work to keep us from having to call Roto-rooter again. Mr. Huerta could not have been more professional.

I am a repeat customer with Roto Rooter. My vintage home was undergoing a seismic retrofit. The sewer line was compromised and I had the seismic team contact Roto Rooter. The first person out was Brian. After a quick assessment, he contacted his supervisor Scott Sylvia. Quick action was taken to 1) clear the length of the sewer line and 2) run a camera through to assess the status.

It soon became apparent that the entire 32' of line needed to be replaced. Mind you, some of this line was probably close to 100 years old. The original time frame would not have worked, since I was under a deadline with the seismic retrofit. Scott worked a miracle and got the job going in a couple of days.

The work was started, but unfortunately the person assigned the job kind of dropped the ball. I will let Roto Rooter handle that. But, back to the good stuff. Scott and Roberto showed up to save the day and got the sewer line completed. The line was inspected Friday (10/20/17) and passed. Monday, the 23rd, Roberto came out to bury the line. The remarkable thing is that nobody would ever know the chaos that existed for almost a week.

The upshot is Roto Rooter is a good company and does quality work. Brian assessed the initial situation and made a call. Then he and Scott took the initial steps. Roberto came in and made everything right, with Scott's help. I would expect that they will take internal steps to address the missteps taken by the one guy, who chose not to finish the job.

I will continue to call Roto Rooter when I need something. My vintage home is a little less vintage. thank you Roto Rooter.

VERY disappointed with their service. We had a clogged toilet a little over 2 weeks ago. The ROTOR ROOTER technician came out and ran a ""snake"" through and unclogged the toilet. We paid $220 for this.

Then, yesterday, again the same toilet clogged. I called the same ROTO ROOTER branch and they sent another tech out here. The dispatcher told me that since this was just over 2 weeks since the original clog that this would be covered under service warranty. However when the second technician came out he told me that their office had NO RECORD of the October 8th service. When I showed him the receipt from October 8th, he then called his branch office and they came up with some vague reason as to why this wasn't covered by warranty.

I then told him that this was NOT what was stated in the invoice regarding Guarantees, and that if they were unable to do this that I would have not other recourse but to call corporate office. He then said he would talk to his branch office again. After 10 minutes he came back and asked to see the original ROTO ROOTER invoice from October 8th. He asked me if he could take a photo of that. I agreed. The moment he took the photo, he pronounced: ""Alright, you'll have to call corporate office!"" And simply walked off....

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, and is NOT in agreement with ROTO ROOTER'S Guarantee Clause at the back of the invoice.

I have really mixed feelings about the work from rotor-rooter. Getting my toilet unclogged ended up costing $820 (after coupon), two visits (had to leave work early twice) and four phone calls.

My second story toilet wasn't flushing, the first person came out and snaked it (leaving some pretty bad rust marks in the toilet bowl). His recommendation was to pull the toilet and have a camera run (which he couldn't do). It took several days (and one missed appointment time) to get someone to come out to do the camera. Immediately the second person who came out said that a camera didn't need to be run, but just pull the toilet and snake it, which is standard procedure for second floor toilets. The second person was fantastic and quickly resolved my problem.

I think that rotor-rooter should have a running bill until the problem is solved, instead of directly billing after each person comes. In the case of the initial person making the wrong diagnosis, you're going to get a SUPER expensive bill.

Kitchen drain was blocked the night before, after overnight Drano, still no use. So we booked our service in the morning via their website and they sent a technician out during the specified time frame in the afternoon, which was fantastic! A phone call prompted me about the arrival of a technician in 30min. Our technician, James, was friendly, courteous, informative and professional. He was able to diagnose the problem very quickly and fixed it within half an hour, plus educated me on how to maintain a healthy kitchen drain. Definitely will return if I ever have another plumbing problem! Highly recommended James and Roto-Rooter!

Our furnace turned off on a Sunday so we didn't have hot water. I called in the morning and spoke to a super friendly gentleman who sent a technician right away. It turned out that we needed to buy a part from a commercial store and we couldn't because it was the weekend and nothing was open. The technician promised to buy the part and return on the next day (Monday) and he did. The problem was fixed without any hick ups and the service was wonderful.

DO NOT CALL THEM! Horrible experience with Roto-Rooter!

We had called them on Thursday at 6pm after our tub, toilet and shower backed up sewage. We were told to expect a technician within 2-2.5 hours. After not hearing from anyone after 2.5 hours, we called and were told the person was delayed and would not be available until late (up to 1am). At 11:45pm, we called and cancelled as we were exhausted.

Friday morning, the toilets were working so we were cautiously optimistic everything would be OK. But that evening, we had a backup again, so called them again at ~5:30pm. Our experience was even worse:
- Told we would get a call by 7:30pm, & a technician on-site by 8pm
- Called back at 7:30pm and the dispatcher said she was sorry but had been miss-dialing my number when trying to call me, so unfortunately we'd now have to wait until 8:30-9pm.
- Called back at 8:30pm and were told that we had a technician assigned and would get a call 'very soon'
- Called back at 8:55pm and were told by Sharday (agent 4109) that we would have someone there 'within 45 minutes'
- 45 minutes go by and - shocker - no one is here. Called back at 9:40pm and was told that our technician was still on his prior call in Belmont (about 30 mins away from our house).
- Was called back by the dispatcher (Katie) at 9:45pm who said the technician was driving to our house, and we'd get a 10% discount for the inconvenience. At this point we are incredibly frustrated, but at least we know we finally have someone coming to help us (yay!)...
- Except, that wasn't at all true. When we called back 30 minutes later, we were told there was no technician on the way. He was still in Belmont as there was ""a problem with the work he did there"" (now that's reassuring). Was told this by Darren (agent 3412). At this point, decided to cancel and we're going to look for a more reliable place in the morning.

Excellent service! One of the kids flushed yet another toy down the toilet and the two plumbers who came fixed it within 10 minutes. They explained the cost and plan up front and were more than polite and friendly. Really nice guys. They were in and out within 30 minutes. We will call again when the next toy gets flushed...
