WORST SERVICE EVER!!! My toilets/sewer were backed up and over flowing. I called Roto Rooter in the Morro Bay/SLO area and they sent out a ""technician"". When he arrived he began working on his auger for quite some time as it appeared he was have some issue with it, and I questioned him on it but he is the ""professional"" and he blew me off. I have some plumbing experience but did not have an auger and needed someone to quickly clear the sewer to stop the backup which is why I call them. After some time he finally started trying to clear the sewer. He was not able to clear the clog with his defective auger and immediately started up-selling me on a $2500 ""power wash"" of my sewer line because he saw some debris on the auger spring which is obvious considering the drain was clogged. When he finally got a small amount of flow (but not a full release of the clog) he said there was no guarantee on his work, continued the up-selling of the $2500 power wash and left. We paid $395 for this and the toilets began over flowing again within 12 hours. The next morning I called Roto Rooter back and had to leave a message stating that the issue was not resolved. After waiting for quite some time, not being able to use the toilets or showers, I received no call back so I ended up going to Home Depot, bought an auger for $350, came home and worked on the backup myself and cleared the lines in about 30 minutes. I Have since called many more times and was told that a Branch Manager would be calling me soon. After ""I"" cleared the backup it has been over a week and ""my fix"" solved the problem. I have since made a number of calls to Roto Rooter looking for a refund with absolutely no response. Terrible service! I will be telling every person I know to Never use Roto Rooter.

I solve many of the standard maintenance problems connected with home ownership myself....but, a recent kitchen-drain clog was completely resistant to all my efforts (Drano, plunger, and 25' snake). Called in a local plumber who did his best with a motorized 50' snake but: No help. Called San Luis Obispo Roto-Rooter in to work on the problem and got Jacob K. So glad to get Jacob on the job! He is a dedicated problem-solver and he takes great pride in working to provide customer satisfaction. He did a couple of standard types of procedures at no cost because they ultimately failed to solve the problem (I was watched throughout and I know he was not gaming me). A medium-power hydrojet procedure was also free because it couldn't break up the clog. So, Jacob K. and Ryan W. came over the next day with their high-power hydrojet machine (so big it's hauled around on its own trailer) and they successfully blasted through the clog. After the hydrojet procedure they threw in a complementary video-scoping of the drain-lines to ensure that there are no hidden problems with the pipes that might cause a recurrence of the nightmare. Believe me, this is specialty equipment that most small-business plumbers do not have available. Expensive? Yes, I suppose so, but ultimately not as expensive as calling in small-business plumbers who try their best but can't do the job. And, it was certainly not as expensive as getting a divorce or a stroke because of crazy-difficult chronic plumbing problems. I am happy to give 5 stars to SLO Roto-Rooter and Jacob K.
