Our water heater went dead yesterday, called the company and Rich came out today. Long story short, we are so happy about Rich's service. We just feel very much appreciated he came in a Sunday afternoon, spent more than 5 hours till almost 9pm. His work is so professional as we can tell the difference in between his installation with the previous one...

Glad now our hot water is coming again, yeah and I am happily writing this review and thanks Rich again.

Regards.
Alan

Do NOT use their service. They are scammers. Roto Rooter's main website indicates free estimate/no extra charge. That was not the case and it was a bait when one of their employees came down. This employee gave me a quote of $500 on the phone to ""repair"" the leak without even seeing it. Quite suspicious as I already had 2 contractors talk to me on the phone but none of them gave me an estimate unless they come by and visit. I was a bit skeptical but i said ok since I need other estimates.

So this employee came, made me sign a document without any description of the work and continues to tell me that a leak detection is needed and the $500 quote will go towards the repair should I choose to accept is how I interpreted the conversation. I only need an estimate to repair the water leak (Already know which pipe) that is connected to the main water line in my front lawn. Still a bit skeptic with this quote but ok, at least it's ""free"" estimate.

Instead of $500, I handed $425 since I have a donation bag for the food bank which they would knock down $75. Once I got a true estimate the next day (which was an outrageously high estimate) in another email which came from another person, didn't see where they even included the initial $425 as part of the repair payment and found out that it was for the leak detection fee. Even though i pointed out where the leak is coming from and I just need a repair quote, my request was ignored. The leak detection should not have been done because the leak was very apparent/visible.

This person was very deceitful, misleading and scammed me. I kept asking if the quote is going towards the repair and kept saying yes. The document that I signed mysteriously now have description of the work and the amount of $425.

Had this person been upfront from the first phone call and told me that the leak detection will cost me $500, I would've said NO thank you and have a nice a day.

Reported this franchise to BBB for their shady business tactic and dispute of the charge fees.

Service performed was short of what was agreed. Company refused to complete service without additional charges- breaching original agreement...
Super shady pricing/payment business practices. Do Not Recommend. Seek service elsewhere- wish I did...

We had a surprise tonight when our washer drained and the toilet began spewing water. We called Roto-rooter just after 5:00 PM as we expected a sewer blockage. Patrick Humphreys responded within an hour (as promised). He quickly diagnosed the problem and explained the options on how to address it. He had the equipment, talent and patience to deal with a few unexpected issues he found. Once finished, he cleaned up and left the area cleaner than he found it. All done before sunset. Great Job Roto-Rooter and Patrick. He is a true professional and an asset to your company.

Called Roto-Rooter to come help with a puncture in my water main that occurred around 10 AM. It was a Sunday and my regular Plummer is not staffed for weekend emergencies. I explained very clearly to their office what the situation was and was told somebody from ""dispatch"" would call in two hours to inform me when somebody would be arriving. At 1 PM we received a call from dispatch that a tech would arrive at 4 PM. The tech arrived late but I had at least some relief that somebody had arrived. I showed the tech the puncture and he told me he was not able to help. He was able to call a supervisor and asked him to come out to ""quote the job"". When the supervisor arrived at 6 PM he told me he had nobody who could help tonight but he would have a crew out ""early Monday morning"". I asked him to clarify ""early"" and he said around 8 AM. At that point I had no other options so I agreed. He returned to his car to work up a quote / agreement and told me the repair would cost $5,700. I signed the agreement.

At 10:25 AM the following morning I had still not heard from anybody (supervisor or dispatch) so I texted the supervisor to confirm the tech knew that the main needed to be shut off before repairs were done and the system would need to be purged before sending water to the house. He confirmed that he would pass this information to the tech but said nothing about the tech being delayed.

At 1:43 PM I called the supervisor to ask for an ETA. He didn't know. A few minutes later the tech called to apologize. At this point I was fed up and told the tech his services would no longer be required. I texted the supervisor and let him know the same.

Then called our regular Plummer (which I should have done from the beginning). He had somebody out in 2 hrs and the issue fixed before the end of the day. I didn't even ask him what his price was because at that point it didn't matter. So, I received the invoice today....$2,600.

Long story short, DO NOT EVER CALL ROTO-ROOTER! They are straight up sharks that prey on those who need help.

Quick summary: I will never use them again.

My service was for water damage restoration and while the two that did the actual work were great, the project manager and the company as a whole were an absolute nightmare.
Hiring them gets you company that accuses you of stealing a co-signed check from the insurance company.
I had explained to them multiple times that co-signed means we both have to sign the check so it doesn't make sense why I would steal the check if I had it.
This didn't stop them from calling 3x times in a row 2-4 times a day and leaving harassing and threatening voicemails.
They continued to claim I stole a check that was only sent a week ago until I actually received the check in the mail.
Terrible company

I would have given 0 star if I can. Our kitchen sink was clogged while I was at work but my wife needs to use it for cooking. So I called this company to take a look, they sent two guys, fixed things in 15 minutes with a snake, and told my wife they charged 540 bucks!!!

When I heard about the price when I got home, I immediately called their branch manager and was told that that's their minimum rate regardless it's a 5 minute work or 3 hours because they have people to feed and need to put gas in their cars.

I get it that people need to make money to feed their family, but charging $540 for half an hour (15 minutes * 2 people) is a ripoff!!!
