Had pumps installed last year to the tune of $15k and called today because we are having trouble and asked if they could provide us more details on the pumps they installed and supplied and was told they don't have the model or serial number and their techs do not write this information down when installing - I was absolutely shocked considering they supplied and installed the two sump pumps for $15,000 but can't provide any info!?!?

Terrible communication! No call-no showed day 1. Day 2, had to call them to find out what was going on, then they said they would come out that afternoon and no call-no showed again. On the 3rd day they finally called and said they would arrive in 45 minutes but showed up after nearly an hour and a half later. Now they are here and tracking dirt through my house because they don't have booties and refuse to put bags on their boots. Terrible customer service and extremely unprofessional. The excuse for not coming day 2 was that they had a ""big job"" to do that apparently was much more significant than our ""quick fix"" as they claimed even though they no call-no showed us the first day.

Jacob Messer was an awesome tech who got the job done efficiently and effectively. Roto-Rooter was (as another reviewer said) the only company who actually came out to do the job after calling several others. Very happy with my service.

Alex from the Stockton branch came to help and check out our bathtub drain. He was very incredibly kind and helpful! We are so grateful and appreciative!

We've been trying to get someone to come out and pump our septic tank since all the rainstorms hit California and flooded our tank. Roto Rooter was not the cheapest quote we got, but they were the only ones who showed up when they said they would, and they did a good job. I called at least 4 other companies, and none of them came through, so overall quite satisfied with Roto-Rooter.

I am 79,my son is 55, disabled, we are living on a limited & fixed income. We share a home. Two years ago our water heater sprang a leak. The house was flooding. We turned off the water and called several local plumbers. One could come in a week, another in 5 days, another in 3 days. Then we called Rto Rooiter, They told us we needed a new water heater. They just happened to have one in their van, a top of the line Bradford White model Their employees, an old man nearly my age and a young boy, obviously a trainee set about the installation. The old man supervised while the trainee struggled to do the work The job should have taken one hour or less took 4 hours, and they charged us $4,800.00
Fast forward two years -- no hot water. My son has a masters degree in engineering, but it didn't take an engineer to determine the problem. The pilot light on the water heater was out. My son tried to relight the pilot. He did it twenty or thirty times, but each time, the burner did not light, and the pilot light went out. Obviously there was a problem with either the thermal coupling or the valve (thermal coupling retails on Amazon for $8.49 or you can buy the complete assembly which includes the valve for $39.99).
Once again we called several local plumbers -- only one could come that day. That is the one we called. When he showed up he seemed uncertain of what he was doing, like he had never experienced this problem before and didn't know what to do.We suggested he try replacing the thermal coupling and/or the valve. The guy said he would have to order the part from the manufacturer which would take several days and would cost us $800.00 to install the thermal coupling, and if that didn't work he would have to then order the valve and try that at another $1,000.00 cost to us. We said, ""no thank you."" We paid the man for his visit and sent him away.
Then we called Roto Rooter again. They said they would have someone out to our house at 8:00 a.m. the next morning, that we would be their first customer of the day. 8:00 rolled around, no plumber, no call to tell us what was going on. At 9:00 we called Roto Rooter. ""Oh,"" they said, ""there was a problem. They couldn't be here until 2:00 in the afternoon. They said they would have the part in hand when they came. They arrived at 1:00, did not have the part, so the plumber went down to Home Depot and bought it and was back at 1:30 and had it installed by 2:00. He said the charge be $800.00 My son lost it. He agreed to let them install it, because we needed hot water, but he also told the plumber that we were going to Yelp them good for this unethical behavior. With that, he called his boss and got the price reduced to $375.00. I must say that this plumber was himself a nice guy. He was competent, knew what the problem was, and was sincerely upset that we had been mistreated by his company.
Fast forward 2 hours and the pilot light went out again and refused once more to stay lit. We called Roto Rooter back. They then told us that we, not they, would have to order new parts form the manufacturer, and then we got them to give them a call, and they would come back and instll them for another $800.00.
Furious, my son drove down to Home Depot, bought a brand new water heater, a Rheem, a reliable brand that has been around forever. The Home Depot guy said he had worked there for 11 years and had been a plumber for 20 years before that and had never heard of the Bradford White. He had to look it up. Found that it retails for $799.00 and had had known problems with the thermal coupling going out after a short time, so Roto Rooter knew they were selling us a defective brand 2 years earlier The guy was shocked that they charged us $4,800.00 saying the installation of any water heater should never cost more than $1100.00!
My son hauled the new water heater home in his pick-up, took out the old one and replaced it with the new one. The whole process took him 45 minutes (and he is physically disabled). We now have a functioning water heater, with lots of hot water for showers, washing dishes, doing laundry, etc. No thanks to Roto Rooter whose telephone clerks were sharp and rude to us on the phone, in spite of the way we had been treated by them.
Lesson learned: we will NEVER call Roto Rooter again. And we advise everyone else to avoid them as well unless you enjoy being ripped off financially. Call someone else. We hear Bell Brothers also come out for same day service, and maybe they actually care about their customers

The technician came out and fixed the leak. It was a simple shower head leak for which the technician did not have the parts and charged me 1,200. The technician said he needed to replace shower valve because the newer Delta shower valve has replacement parts that are easy to find instead of Kholer brand.
The price was set at 500, then it jumped to 700 because he had to run out and find the part. Finally when the technician returned and informed me he could not find the part he then said he can only change the shower valve which will cost 1200.
I believe the roto rooter company took advantage of my misfortune and over charged me. Lesson learned do not call roto rooter. Roto rooter should do the right thing and refund some of the money to me.

I had two toilets installed by Abran Hernandez and would like to say he was very polite and professional I appreciate his excellent service and would like to thank him for coming out a second time just to check and adjust the flushing system on my toilets today they work great i will definetly use Roto Rooter again!!

Do not use this company they are incompetent scammers. I called for service and was told by Mauro per his supervisor (who was not on site i.e. he continuously called his supervisor as if he was unsure of how to do the job) that it would cost me $4800 for a clogged drain (this was before an actual diagnostic..where did this amount come from?). I paid $275 dollars and the technician (Mauro) did not resolve the issue i.e. he left and the drain was still clogged. I ultimately had to call another plumber out who actually fixed the problem i.e. unclogged the drain for about the same amount that I was charged by by Roto Rooter to NOT fix the problem. Since when do you demand payment for not doing the job? Customer care and or service is clearly not important to this company. I would give them a zero if I had the option. BUYER BEWARE!!

Honestly, I would have thought because Roto Rooter is such a big name that they would do a less than complete job but boy was I wrong! I only called them because we had an emergency issue and they were the only ones open. They did an amazing job for us, they were quick, competent, very informative, tried to save us money every way they could, and got the job done quickly. I am more than impressed with the two techs we had out, Jacob and Mauro. I won't be calling anyone else.
