Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I called Rotor Rooter for the Harbor City area and although they arrived promptly they quoted $240 for a simple garbage disposal water back-up in my sink. That price is ridiculous! Where are the plumbers who advertise $99 for any job?

We recently used Roto-Rooter for a clogged drain system In our home. Our appointment was scheduled for 1:30 and at 1:30, Joey P and Matt H arrived on the nose. Our main line system had a clog, which they were able to solve in a prompt manner. Both guys were extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent advice to help maintain our plumbing system a little better. When your plumbing system is out of wack, your home life can seem a bit out if wack. And it was a pleasure doing business with this Roto-Rooter to get your life back on track. Thanks for the professional work guys.

So far so good. Had an emergency flood last night around 630pm and the technician showed up around 845pm. He was professional and quickly assesses the situation by using his camera to view into my sewage line. There was a heavy amount of roots in the pipe eh I had could only be removed with a hydro jet which he's brining this morning. Quote was $1300 for the jet and he was kind enough to waive the cost of the camera. Will update once the job is done.

Called Roto-Rooter today. They sent their guy and after checking it out, he said $240, I asked how long it will take, he said an hour. It took him all of 15-20 mins from start to finish. That was not an hour's work. Working for an hour to do fix a problem for $240, pricey but I understand. $240 for 15 minutes???? Something is wrong with that! Called the manager, a man named Mark. Not just unreasonabe, terribly rude! He said, you called a plumber that couldn't fix it. Does that give them the license to overcharge?? $240 for 15 minutes! Will never use them again. Be careful and read all the low ratings.

Beware - standard plumbing labor is $250 per hour. Very misleading and defensive when called to discuss.

Our company needed to have our water lines jetted. Called Roto-Rooter and a different company to come out and give us a quote. John Montoya was a nice enough guy, gave us a bid and offered to come out the next day with his boss and do the service for us. We told him we had another company we were also asking for a quote from and would call to schedule an appointment if we chose to go with Roto-Rooter. For reasons not important (although one was price, Roto Rooter charges by the hour, not by the job and they wouldn't guarantee their work!) we chose the other company and made an appointment with them. The next morning, John shows up uninvited to do the work! Shock! We didn't even call, we told him we had chosen the other company and he started asking all kinds of questions (fair enough), but wouldn't take no for an answer and just kept saying ""well when my boss comes maybe he can...modify the price, give a warranty, etc. We finally got him to go to his truck but he didn't leave (unbeknownst to us!). He waited until the other 2 guys had started to work and we had gone back into the building! When our scheduled people arrived, John & his boss harassed and bullied them and would not leave them alone for more than 20 minutes!! How incredibly rude and odd and crazy! Two adult men bullying, harassing and being horribly rude is so extremely unprofessional... I don't even have words to describe how awful it was. When I walked outside to ask a question, there was John & his boss with their vehicles blocking our driveway and using gestures that made me blush! I cannot encourage you enough to never let this company onto your property!

Called to get an estimate on replacing the Kitchen Faucet [Kohler]. Bought my own faucet. The technicial quoted me 450. I was shocked at the high quote. Told him not interested. He did not try to pressure me.

I advise people to think twice.

10 years ago I used the Boston Service 4-5 times. Changing my bathtub handle cost me 150 and was very decent work. Not here in Orange County.

Technician gave me an estimate of $356 to fix a water leak from the shower knob. I ended fixing it with $2 materials from home depot instead of getting ripped off. PRICES ARE TOO HIGH! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I used them before they were great and somewhat fair price.

However recently I used them twice and both I was ripped off. Stay away PRICES$$$ is way too high.

I told the tech that I just need to cap off a faucet pipe. He was charging me $250!!! I said no it's I felt it was a ripoff. Then he said no 200 then he edit and came back said 150 . I said no for the principle of trying to rip me off on the first place.


I thought before they were a reputable company but now NO WAY.

Wish I could give them no stars for customer service. Absolutely the worst I've ever experienced with any company because of the lies. If you would not just be pleasant the first go-round but be honest it might make for a better company. My Ms Fortune begin with Kim or Kimberly whichever you prefer to call her she works dispatch very pleasant in the beginning very can-do attitude however when you call her out on what already been stated to you the customer she refers to you the customer as physically no one ever said that must have been somebody else or they me the customer was lying I cannot understand for the life of me why anybody would have somebody like this representing their company. After my 30 minute window had passed and I waited an hour and 15 minutes just to get the ETA on when dispatch was able to get the plumber out here which I was assured would be by 5:30 I was told they need 2 hours just to quote the call prior to being able to come visit. This is not what was stated.... Kim then again stated that she wasn't the one I talk to well she was because I wrote her name down and what time I called and because of her lies and the attitude and her belligerence when I called back an hour and a half later I said screw it I don't want to use your company I don't care for your attitude your demeanor I want nothing to do with it I'll find my own or wait till Monday not more than 10 minutes later did I get a phone call from an 800 number I promptly sent it to voicemail and then within 10 minutes Roto-Rooter showed up. Now Joey is the technician and he is absolutely phenomenal I wanted to send him away however he took the time to listen to the whole scenario I in fact told him that I had already reached out to another plumber got a quote their quote from Roto-Rooter just a snake my drain was over $220 he matched the quote that I had been given by another plumber I didn't do the work I love his honesty his integrity and his work ethics period while he was here he made a phone call which I could hear not that I needed to but I could and it was to his higher up and they were quite interested in wanting to know why he did what he did. He did what he did because it's good customer service and it's good for business I will never use Roto-Rooter ever again however I would love to find out if and when this Jamie and Joey becomes his own business because he will be very very good at what he does just because of his customer service skills and his integrity and the way he likes to do business if I could give 5 stars to him I definitely would. Word of wise do not use Roto-Rooter especially this Roto-Rooter!!!!
