Called Roto Rooter today to have someone come and do an emergency leak detection. They showed up on time and were extremely thorough. Yes, the price was close to $500 but it saved from spending even more money on a bigger project.

We were lucky to get someone to come on the same day because of how busy they are these days--the rain has made several people realize that their roofs need work.

I needed to have my sump pump replaced before the upcoming rainy season, so I went online and set up an appointment. Surprisingly there were appointments available online for that afternoon, and I chose one. That was a Friday and unsurprisingly, when I got my confirmation it was for Monday, not the time shown online, but not big deal and was closer to what I expected anyway. They missed that 4 hour window on Monday with no phone call at the end of the window, so I called and we re-booked for the next day. Annoying but not the end of the world. The next day the tech shows up and looks over my situation: drop a single new sump pump into an existing and perfectly fine basin. The quote: 2 hours (their minimum) @ $340 an hour plus the cost of the pump or almost $900 when it was all said and done. The tech was very pleasant about it and the single star is for that. I said no of course, and did what I should have done in the first place: went to Ace, bought a pump for $120 and had it installed myself in less than an hour, trip to Ace Hardware included. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Total no show and they make you leave a message vs talk to a live person. No one ever calls back. Ended up with a basement full of water.

Called at 9am and it's 8pm now, and still no plumber en route. I called for an update but told that ""they are extremely busy and does not know when they'll come"". I called at 9AM!! I suggest calling a month ahead if you think you'll need their service. I asked how many ppl they have out today and they didn't have that either. Just said the plumber in my location is extremely behind. Yes. Like a day I so behind. Will never call this company ever again

I called for service for a clogged toilet. I was given and window of 11:30am -3:30pm for an emergency call and received an email confirmation of my time slot. I waited all day calling again at 4pm since nobody called or arrived. I was told they were running behind. 6pm I called and canceled the appointment for a no show, I was then told I didn't have an appointment. I will never use this company again or recommend them. This was the worse service ever. I called another plumber and they will be here tomorrow morning. I should have listened to my neighbor who advised me not to use them.

There are certain things in life that should be left up to professionals... like fixing overflowing toilets. Lucky for me, there's Rooter Rooter to the rescue! I was originally quoted 1-4 hours response time but luckily the technicians came in 30 mins! The plumbing gods were on my side.

Luis and his partner were very professional, wore masks, and clearly explained the work needed to be done to unclog the drain. Even though the experience was pricey, I am just grateful it was done quickly and efficiently.

I also want to thank Marissa, the Oakland Branch Manager. When I initially had service with Roto Rooter, I didn't realize there was a coupon and she was so nice and allowed me to apply it afterwards when I called back. Thanks Roto Rooter for all your help! I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs.

The plumber that came knew exactly what was wrong.. was patient with me as I asked questions.The issue was resolved.
I almost didn't Use them because the representative that answered the phone was very dismissive, So once I hung up with them I just went online and booked an appointment. to avoid dealing w/the dismissive representative, and the rest us history

I was expecting a professional service. I was expecting them to be punctual. I was expecting them to be great at communicating with customers. They will disappoint you in every way.

I was given a window of 4 hours for emergency plumbing repair and pipe replacement. They never showed up and when I called the dispatcher lied about them reaching out multiple times. I then spoke to a manager who said that they were just backed up and they couldn't come out until the next day. That's after 8 hours and me having to call in 2x.

Just unacceptable for a brand that is suppose to be 24 hour emergency plumbing. And even more unacceptable to have staff lie.

The plumber, Luis, did a great job, solved the problem (clogged kitchen sinks) and, cleaned up the mess. That's why I'm giving 3 stars rather than only 1.
However, I was quoted a 1-4 hour response time, but it took 8 hours for Luis to arrive. Dispatch kept putting me off, despite my explanation that it was an emergency, water was leaking all over my kitchen floor and that I was severely disabled. After an 8 hour wait for an emergency, I was charged $300+. It turns out that Roto-Rooter subcontracts all its work and Luis had to answer all the calls between Livermore and Richmond. After waiting for 8 hours, I wasn't about to cancel, but I'll never call Roto-Rooter again.

Love Roto Rooter! We are in Pleasanton. I called and they had a technician on the way to look at our washer shut off valve that Best Buy said wasn't working, they came and verified what we assumed... It works, just needed a little tightening. The technician wouldn't take my money because it ""was the right thing to do"" Thank you, Roto- Rooter! We are so grateful!
