I called this company because my kitchen sink decided to stop draining as I was preparing to host over 50 people at a 60th birthday Bash. Because of course it did.

I called one plumber advertising emergency responses and they had a voice mail, so I called this company and someone picked up. This was just after 11 am.
I explained my emergency and was assured they had someone to help me, they would be here within about 2 hours. Since guests were supposed to start coming at 2 pm, that was going to work. I received a confirmation email so I really thought we were set.

It's now 10 am the next day and the plumber never showed. I've received no phone call, no further emails, nothing.
One of my guests was a plumber and drove home to get here truck and fixed my sink in the middle of the party.
That's 50 local people who ALL know that Roto Rooter dropped the ball.

They responded with about an hour and a half. However, the price they charged to fix the sewage backup in my house was quite expensive. $400 for about an hour or so worth of service.

If I could give a minus star, I would. They came and cleared out a sewer pipe [that's OK] and replaced a toilet valve on a tenant's toilet. they charged $1700. I called the office and was told I had been charged too much. They deducted $500. How they come up with these figures is unclear. Then tenant's toilet is still problematic--running, which is a simple problem. I called them and they came out and wanted to charge almost $500 for a simple issue that that they should have seen when they were here. Our contractor fixed it in a few minutes and told them to go home. The people they hire: do they know what they are doing?
I was going to add that I had used them before but I discovered it was another service. Whoever wrote the positive reviews must have been paid to do so. I don't often review people. If someone is really good, I will say so. If someone is a crook like this outfit, I will also say so.

Called them for help at my mom's house to fix her clogged sewer. The guy that came out told my mom it was impossible and would take $35k to open up the street. His name is Jacob and his supervisor Miguel called to confirm Jacob's assessment. They still charged me even though they didn't accomplish anything besides wasting my time and upsetting my mom, Mother's Day weekend.

I called Peter Levi Plumbing the next day and they cleared the clog in under 15 minutes for a very reasonable price.

Stay away from these guys! They are crooks! Not heroes!

Had a overflow in my house .2 bathrooms, tub shower and toilets.
I called them 2:30 PM on Sunday and they were able to send James over within a hour, he was very nice and fixed the problem in 20 mins!

When my basement flooded with 2.5 feet of water due to an overloaded circuit (from a different contractor) deactivated the sump pump, I was wary of contacting Roto-Rooter since I assumed that the ""big name"" would coast on their reputation and overcharge for poor service. Thankfully, nothing could be farther from the truth. An emergency plumber was at my house within the hour (the only company of the more-than-10 that I called who had anyone available within the _week_!), performed an initial investigation, gave me a quote to ensure the price tag wouldn't be a shock, and got to work on draining the water. Within a couple of hours, the water was fully gone, and we were able to discuss next steps. He gave me a full and frank description of the situation (which helped in further discussions with the initial contractors) and gave honest advice rather than a needless upsell regarding the pump itself.

Ronald, you're a life-saver - thank you. I hope I never need your services again - but if I do, you'll be my first and only call!

New water heater quoted $3100 installed. $2500 for the heater, $600 for labor. Receipt shows the heater cost $1500 and labor was $1600 for 3 hours. Roto Rooter got the agreement on the total then install the cheapest heater available and claim the rest as profit.

Excellent fast professional service. I am very happy I called Roto-Rooter. My wife and I determined that we had a water leak based on our EBMUD meter readings. I Called Roto_Rooter and they scheduled a leak detection service for the next day. Jeff came out and found the leak within an hour. The leak was between the EBMUD meter and the house. The repair team came to repair the leak the same afternoon. This is an old house so Roto-Rooter replaced the water line into the house. They did their work with minimal disruption to our access to water. A special Thank you to Luis Gastelum, who was always here so diligently working on the new installation. And his work mates Terrence, Daejon, Lorenzo and Luis Peraza who did such good work and were all a pleasure to meet.

My toilet was plugged, and water was coming up from the bat tub. I called roto rooter, and was asked a million question; since I am a tenant, they requested a call from my lanndlord, so he called them, and they promised to be here within 2 hours. They called back in an hour and said, nobody was available to come; receptionist was rude, and stated, she could not promise anybody would come to the call at all. At night, I was left without toilet and bath tub. Extremely unprofessional service, will never use them again.
