My service was scheduled between 6-7pm. Called them at 6:59 asking when will my technician show up. Lady said she'll relay the call to the technician to see how much longer he will be. 7:38 is when dude calls to say it's late and no stores open for me to buy your part, would you like to schedule an early appointment for tomorrow. Umm.... no thank you I'll take my business somewhere else. I suggest you do too. Very unreliable!!!

We called Roto-Rooter 24-hr emergency service hot line at: 800-768-6911. Last Friday we had a leaking relief expansion tank on top of our water heater. I turned the main water valve off and Roto-Rooter called back saying they would have a plumber coming to our home in El Dorado Hills in 45 minutes. The plumber, named JOSE arrived about an hour and a half later. He looked at our problem and said that he could place a shut-off cap on the water heater as a temporary fix until he could pick-up the replacement tank, and said he could be back the next day around 1:30pm. We told him to go ahead and put the cap on. This job took less than 10 minutes. He showed up the following day at 3:30pm and replaced the tank. We time stopped him. This job took exactly 28 minutes. He charged us for two hours labor at: $225.00 per hour. After complaining about the charges (total bill was almost $500.00) he said after asking him why he charged us so much, he stated: ""Because I am the best plumber"". We called the office right away...JOSE left our home quickly...he didn't want to stick around while we called the office. The office said they would have their manager call me back. His name was RICK BASHLER. No call back. Called again. The representative said RICK will call me back as soon as possible. Two days later...no call back. Now, I am pissed. I called the office again and asked for the corporate office phone number. The representative said that she would have STEVE PARKER from the Corporate office call me back right away. NO CALL BACK. Terrible service!!!! DO NOT USE ROTO - ROOTER PLUMBING SERVICE. They are terrible. No,...they SUCK BIGTIME!!! AS TRUMP WOULD SAY: ""Believe Me!!!"" Now, I am forced to write to the corporate office because these people don't care about their customers and OVER-CHARGE YOU THROUGH THE ROOF! NEVER GOT A CALL BACK FROM ANYBODY!

I was told by my insurance company that the leak in my laundry room was from the plumbing in my attic, I called roto for an appraisal, they said they'll have someone on the way at 3, he got to my house around 5:30, he then proceeds to check the leak and verified he said moisture but said the plumbing was dry and the issue is likely from my HVAC system, I was totally confused so I called an HVAC company and paid $70 for an inspection just to be told nothing was wrong with my HVAC, then called another company for plumbing and they confirmed that indeed my issue is with my plumbing. This guy was clearly trying to rush home on a Friday and didn't want to take the time to earn thousands of dollars and help me keep my home protected. They were extremely unprofessional and I will not do business with this company again.

On the morning of August 13, 2015, I found myself with a totally plugged sewer service line from my home. I called Roto Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service who were very quick to respond. A two man crew showed up very quickly and identified the problem as roots in the line at two locations and offered to make the repair of a total of 7' of line for a flat rate of $3,400. Though the price seemed exceptionally high, I was completely over a barrel since the household could not use the plumbing in the house. I agreed then went off to work, leaving my mature son to look in on the work. A laborer showed up by 10:00A, excavated at two locations, removed existing piping at those two locations, including replacing the existing cleanout at one of those locations. The excavations were professionally backfilled and the work was done completed BY 2:00PM. When the field manager came to me for payment, I questioned the price given the small amount of labor and material required to complete the work. I was put in touch with Rick, the firms manager. He agreed the price seemed somewhat high. He said his labored had worked fast... ""too fast."" He agreed to drop the price by $600. Though still very high, I agreed.

Not two years later, I find myself again with a plugged sewer service line, the primary failure being at the very cleanout that Roto Rooter Plumbing had replaced. Only then did I realize that I had paid $2,800 for work that came with a one year warranty. Calls to Rick, the Roto Rooter Plumbing manager, to seek his assistance in the matter were not returned.

A competing Sacramento Plumbing firm inspected the current status of the line and quoted $4,700 to trenchlessly install a replacement of the entire 50' of line including the failed cleanout, all with a 7 year warranty. Compare that to Roto Rooter's $3,400 two years earlier to replace a total of 7' of line, offering a 1 year warranty. I cannot recommend Roto Rooter Plumbing for any plumbing work based on my experience with their pricing, the reliability of their work or their willingness to stand behind the finished product.

The WORST customer service I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. These folks have zero respect for you or your time. Avoid them at all costs! They will do you dirty like they did me stringing me along for nearly a week then refusing service because they ""didn't feel like it"". Pathetic.

Probably the worst franchise ever to do the business, led by Rick Brashler. Their employee Darren charged my elderly parents $500 to replace a seal on the toilet. Oh wait, you must be thinking there was some serious issue or hindrance preventing the work from being done to charge that rate. Nope. They blamed it on the toilet tank lid being too tight to the countertop. Well, just to prove a point, I had my friends 5 year old lift the lid off in 10 seconds. They have replaced these on their own in the past, and simply wanted to pay someone to do it this time.

Now it doesn't stop there. The employee had the nerve to ask for a tip, because ""in his experience, people tip him all the time because they are not stingy.""

The only redeeming quality is that they initiated a refund to be processed. However, money still hasn't been received.

This reeks of potential elder abuse and taking extreme advantage of people who might not be able to help themselves. If you have older parents or loved ones, avoid this franchise.

Audrey, who took my initial call, was extremely rude and unprofessional... Customer service classes are certainly in order for the call center at Roto Rooter, especially for Audrey. We have used Roto Rooter in the past and their techs have always been very efficient and nice, but AUDREY you have left a very bad taste in my mouth, so I will no longer be using this company. Maybe you'll try treating your customers with some respect in the future.

I called roto rooter 12:55 and told them I had a bath tub that was not draining and could someone come out to fix it. I was told they were busy today and it would be abut 5 hours. I gave them my address and phone number and was told I would get a call before they came. I called again at 6:00 and was told there was no record of my call and if I wanted to wait another 3 hours I could get help. I told them no thank youj, if they couldnt get it right the first time they probably could not get it right a second time. Whoever answered the phone seemed to not really care. Now my tub is still full of icky water.

rick from roto rooter called me this morning to apologize for the missed appointment yesterday. He was very sorry and offered to fix my drain today but I had already had the work done. I appreciated the call and will consider them in the future.

Called them out on an afternoon on a main drain issue. They were out within 2 hours and had everything flowing by evening. Joe came by the next day to finish up the job. He is a very hard worker, and did everything he could to make us whole again as soon as he could. Only reason not a 5 star visit is because another person was supposed to come by to run a camera through the drain after, but did not show.

Plumber came in and figured out I needed new flappers which he removed, I had to special order the flappers from the manufacturer which took 6 weeks.... so the bathroom was out of commission for about 6 weeks! The parts came in and I went ahead and installed myself but called Roto-Rooter to make sure it was installed correctly and he did a few adjustments. For less than an hour's work, I was charged 205.00!!! I called the office the next day to talk to the manager about cost on per hourly rate. I never got a call back after 4 separate calls over a week and 1/2.....not impressed by that at all.
Finally called again and demanded to speak to the supervisor and was able to talk to a supervisor. He said projects were usually 200 dollars and up and was not really justifying the hourly rate at the cost of anything less than $200.00 per hour and just said that's the going rate.....Really! Will not be using them ever again.....That's highway robbery!!!!!. Not at all impressed with their customer service at all as well!!!!!
