Negligent, horrible and incompetent. Created three new leaks that didn't exist before they arrived. That after charging me $468 for less than an hour's work. In what business is $450+ an hour not highway robbery?! Especially when you don't do the job you were hired for!
They came back and asked for another $400+ to fix the problems they caused! What a load of bull.

horrible and ridiculous price for half hour work $425. Had same work done by others for $225 at least ten times in 10 years. Everybody else will give quote over phone but not rotorooter. Heard they are on commission so the more they charge the more they make $&@% rotorooter in Santa Clara. Do not call this co shop around. Horrible. Crooks ripoff they will waste your time take your money.

Called at 8:50 pm that my 81 year old mother-in-law's plumbing (main - 3 toilets, 2 showers/2 tubs) were all backed up. First thing we asked was if they could send someone out tonight, as she couldn't use the toilets, bath, showers, etc. if you flushed the toilet it would come up in the showers and bathtubs. Roto Rooter promised to have someone out there between 9 pm and 11 pm. They called after 10 pm and said that they sent the technician somewhere else and they couldn't make it out there until tomorrow afternoon. Roto Rooter doesn't care about customer service - save yourself the time and call Rescue Rooter, Roto Rooter should be your last resort and that's if they even show up.

Called in the morning because of a clogged kitchen sink. They said they would be here between 1 and 5, and would call 30 minutes before they arrived. By 4:30, no one had showed so I called. The dispatch person said there were a couple of people ahead of me and that it would be a couple of hours more. No one called to let me know. I waited until 7 and called again. Was told a technician would be out by 8. At 8:15 got a text saying the tech was on his way. At 9:20 I called again and they had no idea why he wasn't there. So I canceled and now have a completely clogged sink, which will be very convenient on thanksgiving day. Will never ever call them again. Worst customer service I've experienced.

My wash machine was backing up into my toilet and shower so My landlord contacted Roto-Rooter to come out to unplug the waterline. The service rep was nice however he stated he could not go on the roof to clear the line because the company claims it's a hazard to clear the water line from the roof Which is the only main access to the waterline other than the removal of the toilet. At this time the service rep remove the main toilet. After removal of the toilet the service rep snaked the line which did not take very long (maybe 10 minutes). He then attempted to look through the line with the small camera to see if the line was clear however the camera did not go very far. He then brought out the larger camera, which made no sense to me since the small one didn't go through, and that one only went about 2 to 3 feet. Thus both cameras were useless to see whether or not the line was cleared. However the rep stated that he was sure that the line was clear??? The service rep then reinstalled the toilet however he did not replace the wax gasket. I questioned him about it and he said it was fine. Hummmm!!! The service rep then stated that the service call would be approximately $580 And that the service is only guaranteed for one month because I am a renter n it is considered a business. This makes absolutely no sense to me because it is a residential home. At this time I told him I had a $60 off coupon which he did honor and stated it comes out of his pay... The service rep was only there perhaps an hour which included him taking in and out his equipment and putting it away. My personal opinion is that $522 (after the $60 coupon) is an OUTRAGEOUS amount to pay to snake a waterline and remove a toilet and reinstall the toilet without putting a new gasket on it. Had my landlord not contacted Roto-Rooter I would not have use their service. The service rep was was nice however his friendliness does not warrant $522 and only one month service guarantee. Major rip off..

Aweful. Came really quick (same day) to fix a clog and get $650 from us for 1 hour of work. They left and clogged up our dish washer. They keep telling us they are coming to fix it and keep pushing the day back. You will end up with more issues if you go with these guys. Beware.

Horrible. Unreliable. No show. Screwed up my schedule two days in a row and still never showed up. Had an appointment window from 4-6pm. I called at 5pm just to check and they said ""well we are running behind and will be there outside the window"".
I said - No problem as long as you are coming!
I get a call at 8pm saying our technician is on the way.
At 8:15pm the technician calls and says ""Oh well now there is nowhere to buy parts. Can I come at 8am tomorrow.?"" He also added ""Yeah, Roto Rooter sucks because they just gave me the call.""
I said okay but please right at 8am because I have to work.
Clearly this guy just didn't feel like coming at that time because, by the way - Home Depot is open until late so he could have bought parts.
8am comes and goes. No show. He doesnt answer his phone.
I call Roto Rooter and they say ""Oh, well we understand your frustration but there's nothing we can do until our technicians check in.""
Never called, never showed up.
I called a different plumber who showed up in an hour.
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES SAY THEY SUCK AND THEY ARE RIGHT!

I was very upset with my experience as was my tenant. The plumber that installed my new water heater was not wearing a mask either time that he came into the condo. He also used the bathroom and when he exited the bathroom my tenant saw that there was diarrhea on the toilet and up his back. He then continued down the hall smearing it against the wall while working. The plumber also chipped the wall and a tile on the floor while taking out the old water heater. My tenant was extremely upset with the situation and I had to get the backlash of it. I was very disappointed in the service especially since you guys were so highly recommended. During this time hygiene and preventative measures should be a main concern especially with COVID-19 going on. When I called to complain initially I was told that I would get a call back from a supervisor. That has now been over a week ago. Not thrilled and will not be going back for further work.

My husband contacted Roto-Rooter after we found that every time we flushed the toilets, ran the sinks, showers and even the washing machine, it was draining into our basement. As it was an emergent situation, he assumed that Roto-Rooter would be the quickest way to go as they are a 24/7 operation. He also assumed that they would be knowledgeable and hence, would be able to resolve said problem without us having to get a snake and snake the pipe ourselves, as we know very little about plumbing and septic tanks being first-time homeowners. They informed us that they would send someone the following day. The technician showed up, snaked the pipes, informed us that there was nothing blocking the pipes and that either our septic tank was full and needed to be pumped, or the output on the septic tank had a blockage and regardless, the tank would still need to be pumped to get to it. He personally advised us to call a local business and have someone else come take a look and proceeded to charge us the $442 (which is absolutely outrageous to have a pipe snaked) without ever having fixed the problem that we were paying them to fix. We call a local person after Roto-Rooter leaves our house and he informs us that in order for us to have the tank pumped (that was just pumped two years ago before we moved in, by the way) we would have to unbury it so that the cover was exposed and they could get to it. So you guessed it, we were outside with head lamps and shovels that night digging out our underground septic tank. HERE'S THE BEST PART OF THE STORY, the septic company comes the following day and claims that the tank definitely didn't need to be pumped and so they hooked our garden hose up to a machine that created a high-pressure blast into the pipes and.. YOU GUESSED IT... cleared the BLOCKAGE that was there all along. So, we paid to have our septic pumped unnecessarily, we spent two and a half hours digging out our septic tank and our front yard is all dug up because ROTO-ROOTER DID NOT DO THEIR JOB AND SCAMMED US OUT OF $442. All of the stress and headache of not being able to run water, use the toilets or take a shower for three days could have been saved if Roto-Rooter had sent an experience technician who knew what they were talking about to begin with. The nerve of these people to charge what they charge.

Probably the most dishonest company I have every used. What ever you do, do not use them. I know you want your problem fixed as I did, but wait one more day for an honest plumber. I was billed $1,300.00 for two hours of work. I know at times it seems like you just need the water back on, but wait one more day for an honest company to do the work.
