I have been trying to schedule an appointment with them for the last 3 days. On Saturday, they were supposed to show up but called last minute to tell me that they were too busy to visit today. I agreed to reschedule for Sunday. On Sunday, they called up and told me they were too busy and needed to reschedule again. I asked for the first appointment in the morning and they told me 9-11 AM window. It is 11:30 AM Monday and I am still waiting for a plumber to show up. It was not this bad the last two times but this time it is. These national chains with dispatching done centrally do not know what is going on and will make stupid mistakes like this. I would recommend that anyone reading this to go find a local plumber to do the job.

I had a leaking faucet under the sink and I wanted the crawlspace under the house checked out so I called for Service yesterday. The very next day (today) service tech Sean Finnegan came over around 1:00 pm. He was incredibly friendly, very considerate of my home and my time. He worked quickly and identified the issue, repaired and replaced the necessary items and even had to go out to get a part or two and made sure not to charge me for the time he was shopping. He even took video of our crawl space as a means to provide proof and sat beside me and watched it with me describing what he had seen. He was quick, efficient, friendly and extremely informative; describing what he was doing and why and justified the pricing. Absolutely fantastic work. I'll be sure to hire Sean Finnegan again anytime I need the work done!

They have done so many jobs on so many homes for me I have nothing but positives to say about them.
From the call to schedule where you are greeted by people who are friendly and professional to the great techs they send who are available on weekends, short notice, etc.
A professional organization top to bottom.

The woman who answered the phone today was the rudest person I have ever dealt with in the twenty years of owning a home. They came out three days ago and cleared the stoppage in our pipes. Today, the stoppage returned. Instead of expressing concern, the woman issued me a warning that she might need to charge me again. A warning. She was curt, rude, and unprofessional. I will never use this awful excuse for a company again.

I don't usually write reviews, but the service we got from the Roto-Rooter team serving the Santa Clara/Cupertino area was outstanding and I had to share our story so they get the recognition they deserve. I was traveling and out of town when our sewers backed up. It was late at night and my wife called Roto-Rooter to see if they could help. They came out promptly and tried to find the blockage in the sewage pipes - continuously working through 2 AM. Due to all the noise they decided to stop and come back the next morning. They did come back promptly and worked for another 5-6 hours to remove a huge spider web of roots that had gone through the sewer lines leading up from our house to the city's main sewer line. Very competent team. I got on the phone from out of state and talked to their leader/supervisor - Jason. He was very professional and in spite of my not being around, worked with my wife to make sure everything was taken care of. Due to the extended time they took, he forgave 2 hours of their time and helped us out that way as well. All in all, wonderful experience. I would recommend Jason and his team to anybody in this sort of an emergency!

UPDATE: They send out a survey about services after they are finished. I shared my thoughts and in a few days they called me to get it fixed. They refunded the total cost and said it was helpful for them to have the tech do a ride along or more training. I appreciated their follow up! No help! My son had clogged the toilet with the toilet cleaning brush. It was right at the entrance of the hole when the Roto Rooter guy came. He came in and said he would need to auger it and that would be $180. So I was like fine. So he goes in and tries to do that and comes back in 5 minutes asks if he can use a few tools of mine. Which Im like ahhh, okay?
Whatever you need to get it out for $180. 15 minutes later he says can't get it with the auger and will need to remove my toilet and that will be $300. So I hesitate but reluctantly say yes. He then comes back and says uhm I have another problem the valve that is to shut the water off to the toilet is frozen (in May) so I don't know if I can take your toilet off. So Im like can't we just turn the water off to the entire house? And he was like Oh! Yeah! that's a good idea we can do that. Not impressed I shut my water off. He goes in and vacuums out the water takes more time grunting and banging on my toilet and then comes back out another 20 minutes and says I can't do it. I'm like what!? He was like its stuck in the middle here see and shows me on the toilet tube part where it is. I said that isn't where it was before. He said yeah I pushed it in there farther. So my question is I have to pay you $300 to make it worst and then tell me I need a new toilet? He was like yeah I don't know what to tell you. He then said do you want me to schedule and estimate for someone to come out and let you know how much it is for a new toilet? And I was like no just get out! He then came in and was like i spoke to my manager and got $80 off. Do you want me to schedule a guy to come out to estimate a new toilet? I still said no. He then said do you mind if I pour this toilet water in my vacuum out into your tub? Yeah guy charge me $225 and put nasty water in my tub. This is awesome! My landlord came over and inspected that ""frozen"" water line and even without me telling him about my experience. He said I don't believe the guy that came over was competent because I was able to shut the water off right away. So in all honesty I feel like I paid $225 for a person to come and do nothing, make it worst and cause me to have to spend another $150 for a new toilet. I am a single mom too so I really rely on these people to be able to help and do what they say they are going to do!

We had a plumbing emergency late last night. I am staying with my Mom who has Alzheimer's and my Dad is in the hospital in critical condition. This was not expected and the thought of added stress was not what I needed at that hour of the night. I was was worried sick my Mom would go off about ""strangers inside her home"". However, Anthony and Jose arrived within the hour and were very professional and aware of our situation and resolved our plumbing problem quickly and to our satisfaction. I recommend Roto Rooter to others as well as Anthony and Jose! Thank you so much!

Over priced. Came out three times still did not fix problem over $1000 spent. Called a different plumber and got it fixed for $150 !!!!.

I had a clogged drain and called roto rooter. I also asked them to install a new garbage disposal. It was on a weekend. Total price = $700!!! For one hour's work!!
Subtract out the price of the disposal at $100, and they charged me $600 an hour!!
There is no way any plumbing company can justify that type of predatory pricing.
Caveat emptor.

These guys are excellent. Don't even think, just call them. (I first came to know about them on yelp)
I called them about 8:30PM. They said after hours, it is $40 extra per hour compared to regular hours and can't predict how many hours it takes to fix the problem and can pay with credit card or check. They said somebody will show up at my house between 9 - 11PM and I agreed. Then the customer service called me around 10:30PM and said they are running late at another house and Anthony will come in 45 minutes if I still need the service that late hour. I said send him over. Anthony showed up @ 11:20PM. He was courteous and finally fixed problem in about 45 minutes!!!
I have been living in my house for the last 20+ years. It was such a disgusting backup that caused raw sewage to fill our first floor bathtub, every time I flushed second floor toilets. It is scary/smelly. I observed the problem around 7:30PM and every time I use second floor bathrooms sinks, tubs, and toilets, first floor bath tub backs up more. Only the first floor toilet can be used, but what good is it for.
I first called San Jose city sewage service and they showed up with in 1/2 hour and figured out no issues from the house to the street.
Anthony first tried to run the snake from first floor bath tub and it didn't solve the problem. Then he has to find out the house sewage outlet in the front yard. With all the bushes and plants it took a while for him. Then he ran snake from that sewage outlet and immediately bathtub drained and we flushed the bathtub with water. In summary Anthony fixed the problem thinking logically and quickly.
$250.75 per hour so we had a bill for one hour. I was so impressed I also tipped Anthony.
But for this late hour service we could not have stayed in hour house overnight and it would affect next morning schedules. It was such a great help that these guys work 24 hours.
After the problem is fixed, I had to clean and disinfect the tub, floor etc..
Finally service was quick for a night call and someone arrived fast, they were cheerful, and fixed the problem efficiently.
