I have hired Roto -Rooter several times they have done everything from installing a new spigot outside to putting in a new toilet valve and even repairing a burst pipe in my slab all at a reasonable price and expert repair and demeanor. But not this time; I usually call the 800 number and they send the plumper but on this occasion I called Smithtown location they charged me $671 to snake a kitchen drain and a bottle of enzyme 15 min. Never again

Zero stars!!! The technician busted my sewer line releasing sewerage into my crawl space. He didn't even tell me. I had to find out from the next technician. I called the corporate office and spoke with Christina who cared nothing at all about what happened. She basically told me it's not their problem and blamed it on the ""condition"" of my pipe. She refused to tell me who she reported to and that she was pretty much in charge and if I filed a complaint it would just come to her. Roto Rooter DOES NOT care about their customers!! NEVER AGAIN!! You wouldn't get a referral from me!!!

Yesterday at 3pm I called because my basement shower started filling with water. I had some issues in the past and knew all I needed was a camera down my main line. I was told a technician with a camera was not available until around 11pm but they could have someone out first thing in the morning between 8am and 12pm. I asked if they could possibly come that night because I needed it taken care of ASAP. Received a call at 11:17pm that the technician had 2 more appointments and may be here well after midnight. I called back and agreed to scheduled appointment 8am-12pm sunday morning. Keep in mind each phone call I specifically tell them the only thing i need is a camera down the main line. I receive a call around 1230 there may be no technicians with cameras available but they are going to call a few more as well as the manager to try and get one and they would call me back within 15 minutes. An hour later no phone call so I call again. I am told they have located a plumber with a camera and he will give me a call in a few minutes. Technician calls me and we discuss my only need is a camera so I can see what the issue is with my line. He shows up tells me its $495 for the camera and then they can tell me what the issue is and they will deduct the 495 from the total cost. Sounds Great! I let him know for today all I want is the camera as I already have someone who can fix the issue once I know exactly what it is. He gets angry and tells me he needs to make some phone calls. He gets out of his truck takes 3 steps and tells someone will be here between 5-7pm and speeds away down my neighborhood street at about 50MPH. I called roto rooters and Thomas angrily tells me theres nothing I can do except wait for a call between 5-7pm. I will never use this service again and whoever is in charge needs to teach its employees to not treat customers like garbage.
PS I can 100% say I did not yell or even get upset with anyone I spoke with and was still treated with extreme disrespect.

I had laundry drain problem, water was coming up from the drain and getting worse. Also, the toilet in the basement was also flooding. Initially called Roto Town Plumbers, left msg they never called back. #2 on the list Roto Rooter. Roto Rooter gets high marks for response from first call to their arrival. Techs, Chris, Matt, camera tech Jonathan all pleasant. Cleared main line for $548, that includes camera scope. Camera guy came later in the day, his scope couldn't see through, blocked by thick black sludge in the kitchen line. So, they had to come back and clear the kitchen line. All done in one day, but would have been better to have done all in one visit as the toilet had to be lifted out twice. Another $99 charged for clearing kitchen line, total around $650. Upside: easygoing techs, job completed successfully. Downside: took three visits, expensive, no standard pricing.

We called the Santa Fe office at 8 am as we had a clogged main line going to our septic tank. The girl on the phone had no idea what their prices were, other than a $55 trip charge. She said she would have a tech get right back to us with a quote and if we accepted it before 10 am, they would be out today.
It is now noon and no call. SO, their customer service sucks to begin with.
I managed to clear the blockage myself with an $8 water hose blaster, so thankfully we don't need to deal with this company ever again.
My advice, call a reputable plumber and bypass this company completely. If the techs at Roto Rooter can't use a phone, why would anyone entrust them with a plumbing issue.

Best plumbing service I've ever used. They are very well trained professionals in all plumbing services, even for jobs other plumbers told me impossible to do, they know what needs to be done and how best to do it, for every job. I will hire them for all my plumbing work and will recommend them to all my friends.

A manager from Rotorooter stepped in and remedied my issue by retracting the bill. Therefore, we are good at this point.

This company is absolutely awful! I had them out in August to fix a negative grade pipe. They sent me three tech none of whom had the right part to fix the pipe even though they were told explicitly what they needed to do. It took 2 days from my first tech schedule to get someone out who had the right part.
They them replaced an iron pipe with a PVC pipe. I expressed my concern with this and they assured me that it would be fine and that the work was guaranteed for a year. It's now 7 months later and the pipe has a huge hole and is dumping water into my crawl space.
I called them to send an emergency tech and was told that was not an option even though they promise prompt, 24 hour service. I was spoken to rudely by both the call center woman and the manager. Seriously I would recommend using ANYONE else other than these guys. They are TERRIBLE!

If you need your sewer line, cleaned, really cleaned..... call Joshua and Sanjay from the Menlo Park location. We live in Burlingame on a hill with lots of trees and neighboring trees. Our plumbing is from the 50's, part clay part iron. Our network is about 100 feet of turns and joints and three clean outs. I've used Roto Rooter before and have had several different plumbers come out and unclog the sewer line once a year but Joshua and Sanjay are the first ones that have ever REALLY thoroughly cleaned the line of all roots and I do mean ALL roots. They were the ONLY ones that took it upon themselves to purchase/get a chain flail to use with the water jetting. That thing CLEARED the line. Everyone else up to this point has always cleared the line, but only 'partially' as lots of roots still remained because the blades on the snake just couldn't do it. So, if you need your line cleared, ask for Joshua Employee ID 6075 and Sanjay Employee ID1891. These guys ROCK!

Outrageous pricing and terrible customer service. Tried to charge over $400 for a simple clean out or offered to do it for $300 with no warranty. When I pushed back was told take it or leave it, as he had 4 other jobs waiting. Decided to use Rooter Hero and has a tech out within an hour for $77 plus a 3 month warranty.
