We had a pipe problem that seemed to be quite minor and wanted to get it fixed as soon as possible. The guy came out and did not even look at it much to tell me that he won't be able to fix anything unless he removes this and that. He wanted to charge close to $5000 for the problem. We were like, ""WHAT?"" We told them that we will have to wait for another opinion and thank goodness we did! We got another plumber to come out and tell us that it was a simple fix, charged us $280 and did an AMAZING job! How can a company do such a thing and be so dishonest? I cannot believe that these people are still in business!

Lame. Wanted $45 to come out because it was a Sunday, fair enough. They usually come out for free. However the phone operator refused, (said it was the company's position, not his) to give any type of pricing over the phone. It's unreasonable not to give a range of the cost. Based on the other reviews it makes more sense. My guess is once I hear the cost and compare it to the average review I'm not going to hire them. Save yourself time and move on. This is lameness at its peak.

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!! going on day 18 for a gas line repair (no stove, no heat no hot water). They show up when they want. They take off and don't come back!! Very unprofessional, unreliable!!!

Thank goodness for these guys! They showed up within an hour on Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) and have been here ever since! Today is their third day and Tony Brava has been here from 9am til now, which is after 7pm. Nicest guy ever and is working with Manny and Shawn S. I am thankful to have them here! We have three pitbulls and the whole Roto-Rooter team has been so tolerant and sweet to my dogs in addition to their concern with my cats. Aside from the demolition going on in my home, my house looks great. I haven't regretted anything with calling this great team!

Absolutely useless and overpriced, I got Christian from Hoffman Southwest in El Cajon to snake the main drain to the house, he ran the snake a couple of times and charged me $225, said the roots were too thick and recommended that I either hydroblast the drain for $600 or do a major reconstruction of the drain for $4,400. I got a second opinion from Hendricks plumbing in San Diego, Ron Hendricks came over on Saturday, got all the roots out, and charged me $95, he also taught me how to maintain the drain so that the roots wouldn't grow back.
I will never ever use them again

Once again, I had to send Roto Rooter away due to their over priced repairs. Do both your checkbook and yourself a favor and call a regular plumber as they will charge half....

Marino was my technican. He was very professional and knew exactly what to do. Once he arrived, assessed the situation, he immediately gave an estimate and went straight to work. Frankly if I call roto-rooter again, I will ask for him. He is the reason I would give this place 3 stars at lease.

My biggest issue was the wait. I was given a 5 to 6 pm timeframe and the tech did not show up till 8:30pm. When I asked him about it, he said he was the guy on call - so it wasn't even someone normally scheduled apparently. When I called, I was told the technician (I don't know if it was Marino or not) was running late due to traffic. I was told in a rather rude way that I should suck it up. I find that waiting a few hours at home (on a Monday night) for a plumber wasn't very pleasant after a long day of work.

Total ripoff. Charged me 120(5 min job and no quote) to change out a outdoor hose faucet. Then he wanted to change a water pressure regulator which made no sense since only 1 sink had bad pressure. The technician was trying every way to charge me for things I did not need. I will never use them or recommend them.

Had a late evening kitchen sink overflow and needed help fast. Roto-Rooter said they'd have someone there within an 1 hour. 2 hours later someone finally shpwed up and demanded $245 for a $40 clean-out. I couldn't leave my tenant hanging any longer and so bit the bullet. After cleaning out the pipes under the sink, (a 1-hour job, so he charged me $245 an hour), he said he would need to come out again to ""really"" fix the problem right. What?! Total scam.

WooHoo ! Five stars for Roto-Rooter ! Very impressed with this awesome service ! Highly recommend ya'll ! Had a funky clog in my sink drain which went all the way out to the main waste pipe here in La Jolla near UCSD...On a Sunday no doubt ! Got a quick call back from them and was told the name of the plumber who was gonna call me asap....I mean the dude called me asap and identified himself. I think the dude had a cape on his back cuz he was here in lightening speed !...On a Sunday ! He was super nice,super professional,super clean (put pads down anywhere he worked) and was totally not into super ripping me off !...On a Sunday mind you ! I totally recommend this super company ! Roto-Rooter rocks ! Keep up the good work Roto-Rooter ! WooHoo ! Five stars for you ! ;)
