Do not use this company. We had a leak in our master shower. I called to have them come out to replace the cartridge in the faucet. They gave a vague 6 hour window of when they would show up. My wife was the only person home when the plumber arrived. He came in, tapped his finger on the faucet and said """"this will cost about $825"""". When my wife asked why so much, he gave the excuse that the faucet was high end and he would have to order a part. He also claimed that he would have to turn off the water to replace the part so that raised the price. Essentially, He tried to scam my wife because she was home alone. I called another plumber - Meachum plumbing in Hoover. He came at the exact time he said, he was in and out in 40 minutes, and charged me $220.

I had already rated this office with a 1 and at this point would give them a zero. Advertisements are a complete lie. Service horrid. Technician very inexperienced and rude. The only reason we called them back is because of their warranty on the work provided 5 months ago. Promised a 2 hour window, technician showed up 4 hours later and completely refused to do the work. Actually told us that he was not comfortable lifting a toilet at 11:45 at night. In the meantime we are crawling into our bed, septic water filling my tub and shower less than 20 ft away. Technician then all but calls me a liar while I conveyed his refusal to do work to the corporate office. Received a call this morning from a gentleman asking us to review our review. I not only have a different plumber already here working on the problem I also now have to pay for what would have been warranty work to begin with.

This company sucks big time. they are a bunch of LIARS with horrible customer service. They will have you waiting around for hours expecting service and then never show up and wont even have the decency to give you a call with an update...... Try not to use them if you don't have to they will leave you hanging and not care one bit!! Was told 2 hours until a tech arrived and now 3.5 hours later no tech and guess what customer service reps here cant give me an update, cant tell me where their tech is or how much longer i will need to wait. they say they are going to call you back with updates and NEVER call back! very unprofessional. i guess the sewage coming up my floor drains and toilet backing up all over the place was not important enough for them. Use at your own risk

We live in the Irondale area of Bham, AL. We had an unexpected crisis today when our sinks & tubs started backing up. We called Roto Rooter & spoke to a friendly customer service person who arranged to have a plumber out asap. Keith White arrived within 30 minutes. He was professional and very helpful. He provided a thorough assessment of our problem, provided options for treatment, and beyond that, suggested long term resolutions to prevent future plumbing issues. He was respectful of us as customers & of our property. Roto Rooter & Keith provided the fastest response time at an affordable price. We felt like what we were charged was well worth the service received. We would definitely use Roto-Rooter again in the future & recommend them to others. - Jacob & Brooke

Technician came out to my house and said pulled my toilet and said all I needed was a wax ring. He spent over an hour and a half trying to unclog my toilet and couldn't which is fine because he said that he was going to get the camera man out here to see where the clog is from. Ok that's fine. An hour later the technician comes back to me and says the camera guy will be another hour so he's going to go to another job and come back. Leaves my toilet off. It's ok cause he's coming back. Camera guy gets there and says we have 2 options to get a new cleaning pipe which is 2200 dollars or we can get a better out here for 895. He will set everything up for Monday. Ok I guess that's fine if we have no other option. He leaves without putting my toilet back together and now my toilet leaks because my husband had to do it himself and doesn't know exactly what he's doing and on top of that the cameraman never even set it up. VERY HORRIBLE SERVICE!

This was a Sunday morning emergency call. Had a major leak at my water meter that the city couldn't fix and said it was my responsibility. Very courteous ladies on the phone (Karen and Dawn or Donna) when I called. Within 30 minutes there was a tech on his way and arrived in 35 minutes. A very pleasant and knowledgable tech (Eric) did a great job and kept me informed along the way. Being an emergency call, I expected a higher than normal price but was a little surprised at how high it was. I would, however, call them again based on this service call.

Had a pinhole leak in a water supply line in crawl space. Discovered it after two days of hearing odd noise through air ductwork. So after crawling under the house to locate the issue- I realised that it was time to call in the pros. I called at aprox. 10 am on a Saturday and Mitchell and Bill were out to the house with-in 45 minuites- and quickly asssessed the problem- gave me a fair price in my opinion-(considering what it would have cost me to buy the tools and other equipemnt to fix it myself- I do know how to braze copper pipe and that outlay would have been more than the 335.00 they charged) and within an hour had the issue under control. They were polite, professional and honest. Will be using this company again should the need arise. And they also informed me that the shut-off valve at the meter wasn't working properly- so will be calling Irondale water utility to address that issue. Thank you!

Although I did not make another appointment, on 1/3/2016 I received a call and voicemail at 9am stating that they were running behind again and I would be contacted as soon as a technician became available. At 11am I received another phone call and voicemail stating that a technician could come out at my earliest convenience. I returned this phone call at 11:30am and again was told that since I was not able to answer their 11am phone call no one would be available to come out. When I asked the operator about what kind of discount I would be offered, I again was only offered a measly 10% discount for wasting my time. I told the operator not to contact me again unless a 20% discount would be offered. At 3pm I received another call stating that a technician would be sent out as soon as possible. When I asked this operator about the 20% discount she told me all she was authorized to offer was 10%. At this point I told the operator I would have to contact another company to come out. At 5:30pm I received another call and voicemail stating that some one would be sent out as soon as possible. At 6pm I received a call that Michael the technician was on his way and would arrive at my home in 45 minutes. At 6:45pm Michael arrived at my home and was the first person from Roto-Rooter I was able to have a professional conversation with, he was extraordinarily polite and worked quickly to resolve our issues. Finally, on 1/4/2016 I received two phone calls and voicemails from Pat Swanson apologizing for my experience and informing me that a 20% discount would be afforded to me. While I appreciate the exemplary service I received from both Michael and Pat, it is inexcusable for a company as large and as old a Roto Rooter to have such poor operator service.

Greetings all. I used Roto Rooter to dry out my home after a pipe went n busted in my wash room. They brought out fans heaters dehumidifiers the works. I then noticed my flooring began to buckle and budge so I lifted the budging floor and found that there was moisture underneath it. I reached out to rotor rooter and said that I would have to file another claim with my insurance company and they would have to write another ticket to finish a job that they never completed. they gAve me so much of a run around so they finally sent out AJ and Adam to assess the damage. they offered to pull the floors and baseboards but nothing about repairs or replacing what was damaged. I reqjested an itemized copy of what they were paid for and never received it. My insurance claims manager told me not to sign the check that was made out to both myself and the company until I was satisfied and they had done the job right. Needless to say my floors are now growing mold underneath the floor boards and I have had to get someone else out here to correct what they refused to fix. It's sad enough that your workers felt comfortable enough to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana on the job and be on the phone arguing back and forth with their spouses and discussing all of the office business. Went so far as to pull up pictures to show who's gay who's gothic and who sells and smokes the best weed in town but to treat me as a common criminal because I want the job done right is beyond me. I would absolutely not recommend this company
