Needed a Laundry Drain Line unclogged.
Talked to Stphanie who said she could get a technician out to the house between 1PM and 3PM. Around 2PM Jay and Jose showed up at my door ready to get the job done.
I was totally happy with the work and of course all is well.
I would use Roto Rooter again if needed, but only if Jay or Jose did the work.
The reason I would only use Jay or Jose is that I had previously called Roto Rooter and the first Technician quoted me a much higher price. So I rejected the service the first time. Evidently each technician decides what the price is going to be. Obviously, quotes are not given over the phone.
So, in conclusion, at least a technician showed up both times.

Best plumber ever Rory Harms I will recommend him to everyone. He has great plumber skills and wonderful customer service. If you have any problems and need a plumber ask for Rory Harms.

I had a sink drain backed up. The Roto-Rooter tech came out a day later, spent over an hour, then gave up, with the drain still clogged. After charging me $270, I was left with the drain still clogged. The tech said that water jetting was needed to unclog the drain at a cost of about $1500!
I scheduled the water jet for the following week, but 'luckily' their machine broke down and had to cancel.
I called in a different company, Rooter-Man, who got the drain cleared the same day without the need for water-jetting.

All I have to say is Roto-Rooters' technicians (Austin and Mike) are professional, nice, timely, and efficient. They drove from Reno to South Lake Tahoe and quickly discovered what was wrong with my water heater. They provided me an estimate of the cost, and made arrangements to return to replace my water heater tomorrow morning. My landlord is comparing the price with a local competitor, but I am urging him to give the business to Roto-Rooter. They are a top notch company in my humble opinion.

Our house is aging, and was finding it impossible to stop tub facet from running ( hot water!!)
Not only answered my call, was at my house within 15 minutes. It was a next day fix , as parts had to be ordered . Was costly.. but now have new fittings and leads, which look a lot nicer.

I am so appreciative of Roto-Rooters Trey who was able to come and handle our backup emergency on a Saturday night. I called over 15 plumbers with no response and Roto-Rooter answered and called back within 30 minutes. Trey told me the process to get our main line that was backed up cleared, room off the toilet, and cleared it within a hour. If you have emergency plumbing in South Lake this has been the only company to answer after 2pm. Trey was professional and I appreciate him working late on a Saturday night to help us.

Not a great experience and I would not recommend this company. I had called this company on Thursday night to schedule an appointment for Friday morning to clear out our kitchen drain, I was called back on Friday morning and told they could be there in an hour and a half or so. They kept pushing the time back and then told me they couldn't access our road on account of snow. Granted it was snowing a lot, but we are on a road that is regularly plowed as it's a cut through street. They said they could come back the next morning around 10 or 11 am. Around 10:30 am the next morning I called to find out when they'd be coming. First the dispatcher couldn't find my info at all and then called me back to let me know there were two jobs ahead of me. I waited until mid afternoon to call again and was told the plumber was finishing up a job and I was next. Then the worst part came when I called after 5 pm to see if they were coming at all and I was verbally accosted by an angry man (not the same dispatcher who I spoke with earlier that day or the day before) who kept telling me they couldn't access my road due to four feet of snow. First off, how could he possibly know who I was or where I lived when he hadn't bothered to ask before launching into his verbal tirade? And if he did, he was wrong as our road is regularly plowed... he was extremely rude, condescending and continuously talked over me by saying ""do you want us to come?"" I ended up hanging up on him, oops. I was then called back by the dispatcher I had previously talked to who explained that the plumber was finishing up the job and we were next. I told him about my verbal altercation with the other man to which he explained that he had transferred the lines and I had spoken with the after hours dispatcher. Not a good look for you if the after hours crew can't hold a conversation without telling the customer they're in the wrong. The dispatcher told me he'd call the plumber for an ETA and call me back. Half hour later I was still waiting for a clue as to IF they will come. They eventually called me back and said the plumber is on his way from across town (tops 30 minutes with traffic). He turned up an hour and a half later. Did they clear the clog? Yes. But I will never ever use this company again and strongly discourage anyone from using them. A tip for the owner: give realistic timelines and turn down jobs if you can't make it work. Oh, and also train your employees to speak with customers on the phone.

I like to support our local businesses but when our sewer line clogged over the weekend and the plumber I used for our addition was booked until March I called Nixons who told me they were buried and to call Roto Rooter. They were out the same day and cleaned out sewer line and ran camera and showed me tree roots that were obstructing pipe. The technician Eric was a very polite and nice young man that explained everything he was doing. I would not hesitate to call them again. Very happy!!

I have just experienced the most professional, timely and friendly service from Mel in South Lake Tahoe. He was thorough, patient with my small dogs and explained everything he was doing. In this town most of the plumbers are to busy to fix a clogged drain. Roto - Rooter made me feel that my problem was just as important as a bigger job. I will call them first with any future plumbing needs

We have a commercial building in South Lake Tahoe, and one of the toilets was not flushing after severe plunging and an attempt with a snake. I called Roto-Rooter and they immediately dispatched a service repairman, Melvin, who met me within 20 minutes. I showed him the problem and he then showed me the flat rate cost for the service and how it escalates for each additional step required to do the job. You know exactly what's coming. I liked that. Melvin went to work and within 25 minutes the problem was resolved. He taught me a lot about plumbing during our conversation as well. Would I use them again? You bet.
