I made an appointment with Roto Rooter for Friday December 29, 2017 between 12 and 4:00 p.m. to survey and see if a natural gas line could be run to a fireplace in my home. At 3:30 p.m., I finally received a call from the dispatcher stating that there was no technician available. I rescheduled for Saturday December 30 between 9 and 11:00 a.m. I called the office at 10:30 a.m. and was informed that the technician was at least 2 hours out. I then cancelled my appointment with Roto Rooter.
I wasted my entire Friday and several hours on Saturday waiting for service.I asked why I wasn't informed sooner on Friday about a technician being available but did not receive a satisfactory answer. I also did not receive an answer as to why I wasn't called on Saturday and informed how far behind Roto Rooter was on their schedule.
This is an extremely disappointing way to be treated by a company which prides itself on customer service and will certainly influence my choice of future plumbing companies.

John, technician #1721, came after 8 pm to fix a broken pipe. While being extremely professional, friendly and informative, he fixed the problem in 10 minutes for an affordable price. I will definitely use them again if I ever have any other plumbing issues.

A charge of $492.00 after discount for about an hour of labor is way too expensive. The tech did do good work, this is not about or against him. This is about the company. The job was to install a new garbage disposal that was purchased, as I was instructed to do by the dispatcher and snake out one bathtub drain. So later that night I responded to a satisfaction survey from Roto-Rooter and told them I feel they charged too much for the work performed. Today I received a phone call from Roto-Rooter Management who wanted me to be happy about the job. I told him I would like a refund of $200.00 which would be a fair price to pay for the work done. He said he would do so and refund the $200 on my credit card!

Roto-rooter did a great job helping me with a plugged drain.
They came when they said they would. The techs were polite, explained the issue and how to repair.
I would recommend them.

Had a water leak (cracked drain pipe) that was in an awkward spot under the kitchen sink. Tech informed me it would take 4 hours, labor intense and cabinet needed adjustment. Price was $900.00
I agreed. The price stung a bit, but quality work ain't cheap. The tech made 2 trips to a hardware store (1/4 mile away) 15 minutes each time, cut a channel in the cabinet, lectured me on how to tighten OSB unions that he couldn't loosen (because he was tightening it; Lefty Loosy, Righty Tighty son).
1 hour and 15 minutes, including the 2 trips. I told him it's also leaking in the crawl space where the drain is connected. He told me, ""no, it's leaking from the crack I repaired and that will be $900, credit or check""? I told him that's absurd, the President doesn't make that kind of money. He told me, ""that's ok, pay up or we'll take you to collections"".
Oh, had to pay another contractor to repair the cracked drain pipe under the house that he ""fixed"". The manager made an adjustment after a few weeks and refunded $100.00
This happened 2 years ago, I hope things have changed.

I called and there was a technician at my house in an hour. He fixed the problem, was quick, and even gave me a discount. I highly recommend them.

If I could rate them NEGATIVE STARS I would. We called to hire a contractor to install a garbage disposal for a rental unit. They scheduled the appointment from 5 to 9 PM which is what our tenant needed. They then called at 3:15 and insisted that their contractor had to come out now or not at all because they've been working since 6 a.m. Our tenant could not get off work (ARMY). So, they rescheduled for the following day. We get a call at 6:50 p.m. stating that they have to cancel and reschedule for the next day!!! They should have called MUCH MUCH earlier than 6:50 to tell us that nobody could come and install the garbage disposal. Needless to say, this is the WORST service I have ever encountered for a contractor. Absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL! They hung up on me when I called back to see if we could work out some resolution. DO NOT CALL ROTO ROOTER! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!

I have used Roto Rooter 3 times in the past 4 months, mostly for convenience and they don't have emergency fees.
So trip 1 took several returns because of water damage. The first repair was great, smooth and great personnel I was very happy. Then came trip 2 , several hours late,to clean up the water damage, that resulted from the broken pipe for trip 1. The restoration team were very nice, but inadvertently broke another pipe, causing us 4 more days in sub freezing weather, with no insulation and fans under our bathroom, pretty cold. We couldn't get a time frame of when they would arrive, so I was on hold at home to see when they would show up. We were led to believe that our bill would be reduced due to this. When I finally received my bill which I had to call for several times, it did not reflect a deduction so I called to inquire and the response was "" we didn't charge you extra"" I got a 5% reduction for those days, only because I insisted. So annoyed, plus the insulation was a mess, but we didn't know that until later :/ when we opened it up to get bids to completely re-plumb our home. Which they gave us a bid of $9,000 to do. This is excessive even according to their own technicians. We are getting it done for $2000, through someone else.
So trip 3, my daughter who is moving, needed an emergency fix and since her local plumber was so expensive and we didn't know when we could get them out, I call RotoRooter again. While the tech did his job, was on time, and was quick with the repair. His comments to us and constantly negating anything we said as unnecessary was EXTREMELY demeaning. My daughter and I are very handy and experienced in home repairs, the copper fitting was new to us and because of the short time frame we thought professional intervention was the wisest route. But to be told we didn't have the technical know how was just rude. That we have, but this home had bad work done previously and caution was warranted. As was the very limited space to work. I do not like being dismissed as clueless, and that's what occurred today. The work was done to satisfaction, but I did not care for the general dismissal and negating of anything I said or had done. Just because I am female does not mean I'm clueless. Remember that when you are asking me for tools to do the job because you didn't bring all yours in. Also $69 for two compression valves is excessive. No one was available when I called so we had to wait for a tech the next day.

Brandon was very courteous and helpful. First, he tried several basic techniques to get the clog drained from the bathroom tub, but it was being too stubborn. Then, he shown how to properly unclog it, and soon it immediately removed the issue. Also, he has de-sanitized the bathroom tub very nicely especially being late at night. However, it had to be done!

Don't use unless you want serious damage to your plumbing!
We had a leaky faucet that we called Roto-Rooter to fix. It never was quite perfect but we shrugged it off because it was installed by ""professionals"".
A year and a half later, our faucet exploded water, leaking all over the kitchen floors and ruining our hardwoods. They admitted it was 100% their fault but wouldn't give us even a discount on the fix due to it being 6 months past the 1 year warranty.
We are definitely going with another company as to avoid yet another problem just barely past the limited warranty.
Also, the plumber who came to the house was very rude, condescending and all but laughed in my face admitting the issue was their fault but they weren't going to do anything about it since I barely missed the 1 year window.
