We discovered a few weeks ago, on a Friday night, that we had a clog in our sewer system. We contacted Roto-Rooter in Charlottesville and they sent Shayne out to help us and he was AMAZING! It was a very stressful time and he was calm and encouraging through the whole process. In the wee hours of the morning Shayne was able to clear the sewer line. He also, discovered there was a crack in the pipe and he scheduled and repaired the pipe.

Technician did not evaluate problem properly and seemed more intent on getting my credit card payment before attempting to charge me $771 to snake out the drain. His response when asked about the job""Could take an hour or could take 3 hours"" That is over $250/hour. My advice- Find another company.

Terrible, overcharged, intimidating and rude

I called them to clear a clogged sink. They cleared it but charged over $400 for less than an hour. The bill the tech gave me said $279 for ""cabling the pipe"" which they did not do.

I was concerned about this, but the tech demanded full payment immediately, even though the invoice says net due in 10 days. As a single woman alone in my apartment I felt very intimidated and paid in full. I contacted their office to discuss overcharges, but they were very rude to me

I called to ask for an estimate or quote on a leak I was having. I left a message with a very nice customer service rep and was told they'd call me back first thing in the morning. I waited until noon and still hadn't heard, so I thought I'd try again. This time they answered so I asked for an estimate. They said they'd give me a block of 2 hours to come out, so I chose the first time available which was 10-12 the next day. They told me it would be 50$ to drive out and give the estimate, and then if we chose to work with them they'd put the 50 into the work. Well he came and quickly addressed the problem, and said all it would take is plumber putty and put it in. 200$ total for the one hour he was there. I was completely unprepared for that, and not too confident it fixed the problem. But I guess I'll see. I would've liked more transparency of the pricing of everything as I was never actually given an estimate, just an end price. So 200$ for plumber putty doesn't seem right to me. The leak didn't happen during the time he was there, so I'm not sure how he can be sure it fixed the problem either. But they have a 30 day policy of some kind where he said he'd come back if that didn't fix it.

Buzz and Will Did a great job. They diagnosed the problem quickly and were able to make the necessary repairs. The customer service people were extremely professional and their follow up was great. We definitely will continue to use these folks.

JJ was at my farm right in the time frame that I was told. He was fast and prompt fixing what needed fixing! The receptionist when I called was polite and had correct information to give me, which isn't always the case with other service companies. We will continue to use roto rooter for any plumbing issues!!

Requested an appointment online. Got a response within 30 minutes that indicated the two hour window the technician would arrive. Got a call at the end of that window the technician was on his way and what his ETA was. The technician also called and forewarned us of the cost - $189.00 minimum for the call. JJ arrived right when he said he would. He was extremely professional and polite. When the first fix didn't repair the leak he did some problem solving, and realized the leak was further up the line. Unfortunately he didn't have the replacement part he needed on the truck, and so had to go back into town to get it. When he returned about an hour later, it was 8:45 p.m. Fortunately the final repair was quite quick. JJ did a great job. Would definitely call on him again.

Once again, I had a great experience with Roto-Rooter. Drew was knowledgeable and friendly, as was his assistant, and the job was done well. It's worth paying a little more to get dependable and trustworthy service!

Roto Rooter is the best company I have used. They are very professional, exceptionally dedicated to excellence in service and in pleasing their customers. I have used them twice, first for sewage line restoration, and now for water line restoration. They make every effort to preserve bushes and other foliage while working. They are the BEST!!!

After writing the review, the owner called the next day to speak with me. He was very gracious and did not make excuses for the issues of obtaining an estimate for replacing our sewage pipe. He showed up the next day and again was very apologetic concerning the confusion over the quote for replacing the pipe and did explain all that needed to be done. Gave a quote and answered all questions.
