Very expensive & inexperienced crew. You need to pay a lot just to have them stop by and look. It's a lot of money initially that you do not get back. Unfortunately I was in a bind at the time. Will never use this money hungry company again.

Never in my life have I dealt with such an unprofessional human/company. After spending thousands of dollars to refinish our basement due to a flood we had in February, it flooded again today. We haven't used our basements bathroom since February and the moment we hook the toilet back up and run the washing machine at the same time it floods exactly like it did then. I called Roto Rooter to let them know that they didn't fix the issue like they assumed they had and we didn't know that for ten months because we didn't use the toilet this whole time. Connie the manager took ZERO accountability for the company she represents, repeatedly cut me off as I tried to explain my point, had the audacity to raise her voice at me and ultimately hung up on me... All because I wanted them to take accountability for their technicians actions or lack of actions because he wasn't thorough and assumed it was just the main sewer line and didn't check anything else or the possibilities that maybe it was coming from somewhere else, even after telling him the sequence of events. I will NEVER ever use ROTO ROOTER!!! There's a reason they have such terrible reviews and I should've looked at that before using them. I've used them many times and they have lost all respect from me.

I recently had an issue with the drain in my basement. I called late in the day on Friday, May 19. When I talked to the plumber, he offered to come out the next morning. I expressed that it was an emergency, and he begrudgingly came out that evening. First thing he did was wear his muddy shoes all the way through my home. He came and told us his camera was too big. Note that I told him the size of the pipe and that he needed a camera. When he went to leave, he told my dad ""I knew I wasn't going to be able to do anything."" Never at any point did he express to us that he didn't have the proper tools or we would have obviously told him not to come. However, my dad was flustered and paid him the $150. When my dad called the company a few days later to complain, he spoke to the manager. She said she was going to talk to the general manager and get back to him within 24 to 48 hours. She has yet to return his call, even after he has left five voicemails over the last month. I even submitted a request two weeks ago on their website requesting to speak to someone about this experience as soon as possible. Nada.

2207 W Willow St Ste 209 Lansing, MI 48917 in
Lansing, MI For Service Call: 517-321-2100
DO NOT call this number. Their tech -Joe - came out and spent 12 minutes, charged me $533, did not listen to what I was telling him about what the problem was, did an incomplete job by not snaking the main drain to make sure it wasn't plugged. Told me I had a six month warranty. Yet, when I called them less than 2 weeks later about THE SAME PROBLEM, it was a ""NEW"" problem and they wanted to charge me ANOTHER $500 to snake the main. It should have been snaked the first time! When I call on Monday morning and speak to the ""General Manager"" Connie, she says she will call me back by Monday evening. By 2:00pm Tuesday I had to call her. She stated that she would check with the ""General Manager"" (She already told me that SHE was the General Manager), and call me back that day. Tuesday ended with no phone call. This Roto-Rooter thinks that to charge a person over $500 and not fix the problem and then to repeatedly lie to the customer and blow them off is a good thing. I can't afford their thinking. Their technician did a crappy, incomplete job and now they want ME to pay for it. Heaven forbid that they should do the right thing and do a complete thorough job.!!!!!!

No go!! Wow! Saturday around 5pm my toilet backs up. Started plunging and nothing. Suddenly the water starts pouring out of the toilet. Turned the water off down below and still it continued filled 5 buckets and soaked my entire floor. The whole mess made no sense.
We called everyone that services my area and nothing then I see Roto-Rooter and their 24/7 hours. Called spoke to a woman, gave her my info, she said stay close to your phone because they will be calling. A good 20 minutes passes and nothing. My landlord texts me and come to find out he also was waiting for a callback from Roto-Rooter but he had been waiting over an hour. So I immediately call them. Spoke to a young man he seemed familiar with my situation and also had spoke to my landlord just seconds before I called them back. He reassured me someone would be calling and they would call my landlord. So another 20 minutes passed and I text landlord and he's heard nothing as well. Again I call and speak to a third person. A mature man who wanted to tell me I'm looking at the situation wrong and blah blah blah. He continues to tell me they have one guy on call and he's extremely busy so no one will be coming to fix my emergency and when I pointed out why they advertise 24/7 when it's false not only that but they kept stringing us along. We thought at some point tonight it would be fixed so NO...we didn't call anyone else while waiting for Roto-Rooter because two employees said someone would call and then be out.
I'm aware that things happen but cmon this place is ridiculous!! COVID has nothing to do with this either.
I will tell everyone not to use you. Also don't advertise in a city 45 miles from your home base if you refuse to come here. Fired!!

I phoned this morning, told them exactly what the problem was. I knew it was nothing complicated. Was told by a plumbing company it would be up to $200. but didn't sound like that was the case. I didn't want to spend that much. Called Roto Rooter and was told of the trip charge which I was willing to pay, but was pretty sure the fix was simple. Could get no further info from them about charges. I figured it would be well under the $200.
After speaking with the tech, he told me it would be $350.00. I knew the problem was close to the sink drain but they charged for up to 50 feet. If I had known that ahead of time, I would not have used them. I asked alot of questions and got very few answers. The original plumbing company came out, diagnosed it and it cost $115.00. The problem was 3 feet from sink. I would never recommend RR because they are deceptive and priced waqy too high. They are not transparent with pricing.

Don't bother calling Rotor Rooter ""Guthrie's Plumbing"" @ 517-321-2100 unless your comfortable paying extra money for less than stellar service. I was quoted a realistic price to cable clean my drain line. I was stranded at work and depending on a professionals help when the technician informed me my drain required a more expensive hydro-flush. This type of cleaning cost 83% more than my original quote. After arriving on-site I found this assessment was made without any attempt to cable clean my main drain line. Although a camera was utilized to inspect 80% of my drain line, the issue was located in the 20% that wasn't inspected or cleaned. Keep your money and call somebody else that's not deceptive and will actually attempt to do the required work.

Never again, Mike

Called to have toilet snaked out. Would not give me any sort of estimate as to cost. $29 trip charge and then they will diagnose and quote you... I asked again for a very rough idea and they replied we have no idea of pricing here in the office. Could not have been more cold. I've heard they do good work but I need to have at least a very rough idea before I have you come to my house.

Roto-Rooter Plumbers Service Call 10/29/2014
Roto-Rooter did a pretty good job responding the same night to my clogged sewer drain. The tech Josh that arrived was great, clean and methodical about his work. He even cleaned up after he was done. My only complaints are that he could only get a two inch cutter down my drain and didn't retry the four inch cutter. He had to return and re-scope the drain because of some leakage we had coming out of the main cap following the service. This service would be excellent if it wasn't so over priced. If I had more time to look for other competitors at a more reasonable rate that would respond in the middle of the night I would have. I am going to perform semi annual maintenance going forward in the hopes of avoiding a future back up (clean up wasn't that bad because we caught it right away).
