I had called Roto-Rooter for a clogged kitchen pipe. its a pipe in my home of 30+ years that has rarely but occasionally clogged. Only reason I called Roto Rooter is because I ""thought"" my neighbor called them to do a similar unplugging service at their home.. Unfortunately I was mistaken as they called another company. My pain with Roto-Rooter is the price I was charged. After I opened the clean out for the technician and pointed to where the plug was, it must have taken him 35 min max to dislodge the clogged pipe. Let me ask if you would pay $489.00 for this service that took less than 45 min to address? After I called the Admin office explaining to them how disappointed I was with the cost, I was offered a $100.00 credit to my next service call.. which obviously will never happen. Person I spoke with indicated to me that the $489.00 was a set fee regardless of the time the technician took to address the clogged pipe and that the service was guaranteed for 6 months, and should this happen again within the 6 months it would be a no charge service... I asked if the $100.00 could be applied to the credit card charge, where the person at the company indicated that they would ""try"" but didn't expect they could..
Life's experience and lesson learned and I will never call this service again.

I called them at 4 on a Friday with a simple job to clean the main line which had clogged. I had already removed the toilet and cleared the clean out in the garage . I was told on the phone that the wait time would be three hours before a could arrive. At 6 I received a call from an unfriendly representative asking if I still needed service at which time I said yes I was then informed that a technician would arrive likely within the hour and no more than 2 hours. At 8:30 I received a call from the same unfriendly representative asking me again if I needed service and they told me that it technician would be there within the hour. At 9:30 I received another call from a representative that was more friendly than the previous one asking me if I needed service I said yes and she informed me that a technician would be out within the hour. Around 10:30 I received another call asking if I needed service I said yes. At that time she informed me that the minimum charge due to after hours would be $499 $300 more then I was quoted originally. I was then asked if I would like to reschedule for 9 a.m. the next morning. I said no and found another plumber. The whole reason that I requested service from Roto-Rooter was for after-hours service which they could not perform and if they had let me know that I would have taken my family to a hotel where there was running water. I would not recommend this company to anyone vet needs reasonable prices and reasonable service.

I've only written positive reviews on Yelp until now. I phoned Roto-Rooter Friday at 12:30 as my patio drained was clogged. I was informed a technician would arrive by 3:00pm. I called them at 5:30 pm and was told no one was available yet. I said it's now dark, need to clear drain in daylight so made an appointment for Sat between noon and 2:00pm.
Again, no show. Called at 3:00 and told I was next on schedule as soon as technician calls. At 7:30 pm Saturday night I was still next! I set appointment for Monday at 7:00 am with dispatcher. I called them at 8:00 and was told they don't set appointments for 7:00 am and I would be called as soon as technician was available. Finally after phoning the Branch Manager they called and told me a technician was on the way, and arrived at 9:20 am. Kyle was great. Fixed my Problem in an hour. Very happy with Kyle but not happy that it took from Friday at noon til Monday at 9:20 to have them respond. In good faith I could not recommend them to anyone.

Our 3 year old flushed a baby toothbrush down the toilet. Took the plumber about 10 minutes to push it thru, and cost us $225. Nice guy, quick service, extremely pricey for the job.

First off, they got my first name wrong the whole time and I was charged $50 for an estimate that was suppose to be free. Over the phone I was told that I will be getting a free estimate and their website said they give out free estimates. Supposedly the $50 is a ""Service Charge"", to do what?!? The tech, Garrett, just looked at it and told us what we already knew and gave us a quote! So this is false advertising and they are the first ones to give me the most expensive quote to replace my water heater for $1,800 and he said it is the best price they can give us. I say BS!!!. The other vendors quoted me around $1,300 or less and the estimates were free. I recommend going elsewhere and dont waste your time with them.

The installation of our new oven was delayed because of an issue with the gas hookup. We weren't sure what we were looking at, but Christopher Lease with Roto-Rooter did. He came and explained our situation to us, along with several solutions, offering to do as much of it as possible. He and his associate were great with us, our baby, and our dog, and could not have been friendlier.
In the end, we have to do a bit more legwork before we move forward, but I hope we can use Chris with Roto-Rooter in the future!

Called yesterday for a leak in my ceiling around 11AM. They said they could send someone around 3PM. They called back at 3PM to tell me 2-3 more hours. They called again at 6PM to tell me in would be another 2 hours until they arrived. Guess what happened then... they called yet again at 8PM to tell me it would be about another 2 hours. I finally canceled the service call. It's one thing to say your unable to make a service call on the same day, but you can't keep lying to make me wait all day, I could have called another plumber. Thank you Roto rooter, I called you to fix a problem and you then made it worse.

Roto Rooter is the best! Had a disgusting sewage smell coming out of the guest bathroom in my newly purchased home that was fixed in 45 min. Appointment was easy to make and the guys who came to work were an absolute pleasure.
After talking to several plumbers who claimed that the toilet's wax ring was totally fine, the guys from Roto Rooter immediately diagnosed the problem as none other than the wax ring! They went straight to work and talked me through the problems every step of the way.
They put a new wax ring and caulked the toilet. Everything was completed in a very timely manner and for a great price. Couldn't have asked for a better experience; finally I can enjoy my new home!!

If I could give this review 0 stars I would. Called them out for a clogged sink drain in my place of business. They snaked it for over an hour, said it was clear and then charged $240. There was a lot of water on the floor when he finished but he said it was due to his catch pan leaking so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Two days later I noticed a leak behind the same sink coming from underneath the wall every time we ran the faucet for more than a minute. Called them back out and they confirmed it was coming from the same drain but refused to cut the wall open due to asbestos concerns! I explained that the building was built after asbestos was banned for use in commercal construction (around 1977). They still refused to cut open the wall, said they would inspect and repair only if I cut it open. Now, given that I was in a suit they knew my answer would be no. Odd thing is... If you were worried about asbestos insulation in a wall, would it matter who cut the wall open if you could still be exposed when working in the area? They also said the drain could be rotted (their words) due to age. It is copper and it has a typical useful life of (at least) 50 to 70 years. Long story short, they refused to repair a drain they obviously damaged and used a BS excuse to avoid fixing their screwup. Guess they didn't know I was an engineer, used to turn a wrench professionally and I could see through their line of BS. Consumer beware!

My tenant loved Art & Chris. They replaced the water heater in my condo and they were great with scheduling with her. She said they were so awesome and they did a great job. She has lived there for 6 years and I haven't heard her speak so highly of technicians before.
