Kathleen G.If i could rate it as zero star, I would. Our sump pump failed working early in the morning today, saturday.it was raining hard, and we were worried the basement is gonna get flooded since the weather predict today's gonna rain all day. so we called them. They promised a 2-4hr waiting time. After 4 hrs, my husband placed several calls throughout the day trying to find out what time they are coming. On each time he gets someone on the phone, they'd say someone is coming but is not sure of the ETA. All family plans was cancelled (it's my husband's birthday), our basement got flooded and still, nobody came. Finally, at 9:30pm, when we called them again, they said they won't be able to service us tonight, instead, it will be tomorrow afternoon. What kind of 24/7 service does that??!
Contacted Roto Rooter to come out and rod my main drain. Asked them to come out the following day at 6 p.m. I was told someone would contact me a half an hour before they actually come out. I called around 5:45 p.m. and was told they I had a window and someone should be out by 8 p.m.. I should have sensed something was up then, because when I booked the appointment, they never mentioned a window. At 8:00 p.m.. I called again because I have small children and needed to get them bathed. I was told someone they could not contact the dispatcher and someone would call me back. 30 minutes later, someone called to ask if they could reschedule for tomorrow? I told them NO I have small children and whenever we run water sewage is coming out in my shower and toilet. Dispatcher put me on hold once again and told me she would call me back. Then a technician called and identified himself as a 3rd party that had been asked by Roto Rooter to contact me. He said that the rodding would be $465 for him to come out and do it! I asked how he could give me an estimate without even looking at my issue? He said his manager authorized him to do it. I have had my drain rodded in the past and it has never come close to costing that much that before. Out of frustration I contacted the manager at Roto Rooter. He was absolutely no help at all! He did not believe me when I told him that a 3rd party plumber had contacted me. He said it was actually his own technician. When I asked him if this was common practice he said no, but they can't anticipate when the technicians will be complete with the jobs. I absolutely understand this, but when I have been calling for the past 3 hours you could have just rescheduled or said there is a chance that we will not make it out today. I will never use the company again, I will never recommend them to anyone. They keep you hanging on long enough to know you have no one else to call then try to price gauge their customers. Very unethical!
This review in no way reflects the job of the plumber. My issue is with the cost. Grossly overpriced for the work done!!!
Our problem was a leaking 45 year old bathroom faucet. After calling Roto Rooter, by husband ran to Home Depot to purchase a new faucet, thinking that""s probably what was needed. The plumber informed my husband that he could just replace the faucet cartridge in the old faucet, because it would cost an additional $100 to put in the new faucet. My husband agreed to just fix the old faucet because that bathroom is in need of a full remodel anyway. So, after 1/2 hour work, the plumber replaced the faucet cartridge on the old faucet. The cost was $410.00
I actually gasped out loud when the plumber told my husband what to make the check for.
I truly feel like I've been robbed.
My suggestion: unless you have money to burn, LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!
Salvatore D.I had a great experience with the technician sal #1794 that came out here to help me with my main line was very detailed and explained everything what I needed to be done. I had tree roots in my line and need to keep roding it every other year to management my problem before it get worse.
Michelle W.I had an emergency drain problem on a Saturday morning at 8am. I searched online and found this business and scheduled an appointment online. They called me within 30 minutes and told me a tech would be at my house within a 3 hour window. The tech showed up earlier than I expected and completed the job in a fast and efficient manner. Vince tech 2030 and his associate Matt tech 1422 were very courteous and professional. A little pricey but in a jam I didn't care.
