My kitchen flooded had flooded a few nights ago and I needed an emergency plumber to come to my house and help stop the water. I called Roto-Rooter because they're website advertised 24/7 365 plumbers available. When I called, a gentleman told me that they are not plumbers but they ""do drains"". I gave him a brief synopsis on the issue and he told me that someone should be able to fix that and would give me a call back. A few hours later I got a call from a blocked number and a man asked if I was looking for a plumber. He told me how much it would cost and I told him we would pay him but needed a bill to show our landlord to get reimbursed. He told me ""I'm not coming unless I'm getting paid"", I told him- ""Yes, you will get paid but I need to be able to get reimbursed from my landlord"". He fought with me about this for a minute or two and then says, ""wait, you thought I was coming TONIGHT?"" I said, ""Um yeah it's advertised 24/7"". To that he laughed and said ""yeah, ok bye lady"". I've never been so poorly spoken to as a customer to the point where I feel like I need to write a review but this was horrible customer service. They're website clearly states 24/7 EMERGENCY PLUMBERS- nights, weekends and holidays. Get it together Roto-Rooter.

Our town was built with not-the-very-best sewer infrastructure. That is to say, our 1960s sewer lines were made out of tar-impregnated cardboard from a local paper mill. So everyone eventually needs Steve.

When our basement sewer backed up, everyone told us to call him. I was skeptical, because Roto-Rooter franchises in other areas of the US are not the best. Plus, the estimate was high -- ~500 for the first 100 feet of cable, and ~300 for the next 100 feet if needed. But Steve was great. He made time for us right away, figured everything out, fixed it, and the final bill was less than his estimate. I think he is very good, professional, competent, honest. We are lucky to have him.
