These plumbers are great. It was easy to make an appointment (I had a non-emergency) and they arrived when they said they would. The guys were knowledgeable, courteous, and extremely professional. I highly recommend this business.

I had been having problems with a slow draining sink and also some wet spots on the lawn. I was concerned that these two things might be connected. I called Roto Rooter and Kyle answered right away. He was able to schedule me for the very next morning. When he arrived with another technician, they spent about 30 minutes with me trouble shooting both problems. In the end, it seems that both problems are unrelated and will probably resolve on their own. Kyle charged me nothing for the visit. He said this is their policy since he didn't provide any service. However the time they spent and the information they shared with me was very valuable to me. They were very polite and knowledgeable and I will definitely call them again next time I need something.

I don't know if the Rotor-Rooter in Ithaca is the same company as Cortland, (different phone numbers), but our experience was very positive. I called Kyle from Ithaca Roto-rooter on a Saturday morning at 8:30 and he was here by 10:00. Our main sewer line from the house to the septic tank had become blocked causing our toilets and drains to back up.

We used Drain Brain in the past, and they charge extra for weekend service and overtime plus an added fuel charge.

Kyle from Roto-Rooter quoted me $350 over the phone. He got here on time, opened the line after routing from the tank as well as the toilet. I think he was here for about an hour and a half. While here, he explained that he charges $350 whether he is here 15 minutes or all day. He was courteous, friendly and professional. He also cleaned up the sewer spillage that was in the shower. Kyle also recommended switching to a different toilet paper to avoid future problems. Who knew?! We were very pleased with the service.

RotorRooter in Ithaca will be our go-to drain company in the future.

Called for a shower that was backing up in our bedroom. It was about on hour in that he looked at the shower. He had camera scoped the clean out drain to the septic etc. and no issues. Got to the shower and first plunged it (with my plunger) and broke the plunger. Then snaked it. After about 30 minutes of hearing the banging of the snaking I came in to see what was happening. The clog was worse and he seemed baffled as to why. Mentioned that the snake was fully extended and he didn't know where it all was going - that it made no sense. I walked downstairs to find water pouring through the ceiling and a sink overflowing.

He proceeded to say that ""that was already like that"". That we are now at about something like $400 for his time thus far and to keep going we are looking at $300 more. My response was that I think I would have noticed if I had water leaking like that I would have noticed and pointed out that we were just down here scoping the clean out and there was not water pouring out - this just happened. I asked what he thinks might be going on, did he break a pipe snaking?

His response was ""I am going to leave it there"" As in I am walking out with water pouring through your celling and out your sink. I was shocked and barely holding back tears. His response was ""this is my business and I don't want you to sue me"". He did indeed walk out.

It took me 24 hours to get something else here and in that time a pipe burst in our wall causing even more damage.

Turned out he broke the shower pan when snaking causing the issues - yet another issue we are left fixing.

What a nightmare and beyond unprofessional.

Rude, dirty, overpriced, and on a recent visit, I had to call someone else three days after these guys supposedly cleaned my drain.
