I would not recommend Roto Rooter in the Salisbury area, also known as Johnson's Sewer and Drain(via my CC statement).

My basement had a back up, so I called this morning and a tech came by a few hours later. The cost of a tech is $187 per hour. As soon as the tech arrived the upsell began. ""Oh those stairs are so narrow. Oh that bathroom is so small. Oh, if you approved a helper it sure would go a lot smoother(both cost $225 per hour). Oh, there's really no way to know how long this might take."" Oh, whatever I can say to make this job sound as hard as possible so I can milk this sucker for every penny possible! I could just see the dollars clicking by as this guy outlined all the horrific conditions to get the job done.

Eek! Methinks not! Prior to calling Roto Rooter I had been in touch with a gentleman from Easton. I found him on Craigslist. He's new in business and quoted me a FLAT RATE! It was $250, and he's coming from EASTON for goodness sakes! I decided, unwisely in hindsight, to try to find something local. Upon hearing this upsell pitch from Roto Rooter, I called Banks Sewer Svs back at 240 281 1415 and took Jason up on his offer. Please see that review for details, but he was top notch and it took 40 minutes.

I told Roto Rooter to wrap it up. I was charged $125 for the ""service call"", though no service was really performed except to tell me one hundred ways to DO the job((including going in through the roof(really?)), rather than actually DOING the job.

I'm $125 less rich, but being a new homeowner, I think I earned about a grand worth of experience today. I won't be calling Roto Rooter again! I will be calling Banks, unless it's just such a small job I can hire a handyman.
