Leaving a review for a friend from today in Folsom. Absolutely do not call roto rooter for drain cleaning. It is emergency service call on a Sunday. The drain cleaning price was 400$ which is a good price. Then 375$ to reset the toilet with a wax ring. That's a robbery. Then 375$ more to drain clean the tub. Thankfully they said no. The tub, 95% of the time does not get stopped up after a main line stoppage. He was trying to earn more commission. And rob them more. He tried to get them to pay over 11 hundred dollars for a simple snake job. Even half of that is unreasonable. Never call roto rooter

I'm the owner of Citrus Heights Car Wash & we've been having more problems with coins getting stuck inside a PVC pipe that runs from one of the Bay coinbox meters into the vault below. We saw there was a piece of vacuum hose stuck inside, but we had not been unable to PULL it out ourselves. We called Roto Rooter and they sent out Steve. He was knowledgeable and professional and able to quickly PUSH it through the pipe!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I'm SO GLAD I called Roto Rooter!! Money well spent!! THANK YOU STEVE!!

Came out to give a free estimate on issue with hot water heater at a rental home I own. They called to tell me it needs to be replaced and they can do it for $4500. I thought I heard him wrong and had him repeat. Which he did $4500. I told him no thank you. Got two other quotes the next day for $1500 and used one of them. I did call roto rooter to ask them to email me with estimate details since it was so high. Attached the picture of what they sent. A link that shows the estimate for $4000. No details. I called back and she said she would have the technician call me. Hasn't called me yet. Doubt they will. Don't bother with this company. Sounds like they are a rip off.

never use this company, i called for unclogging my toilet and they couldn't do it and charged me 259.90 for 30 minutes of doing nothing.....

Don't even think about calling them! My elderly mother had a clogged kitchen drain and a backed up washing machine drain which flooded her house. They arrived very promptly and opened up the clean out pipe and solved the initial issue in the kitchen charging us $295. We were told that the washing machine drain was cleared as well. 2 days later we got around to using the washing machine. Leaving the house as the washing machine was on, we came home to a flooded house with saturated carpeting and soaked upholstered furniture.
I called roto rooter once again and they came out later that evening. They never bothered to check the washer drain that we also originally complained about. The plumber snaked a camera through the clean out drain and told us that the drain out pipe was corroded, narrowed, cracked and needed replacement. We were told that a trench needed to be dug through the cement foundation of the house through the laundry room and into the bathroom. They quoted a price of $18,800! I told them we couldn't afford that and they charged us $485 for the camera scope. None of this passed the smell test for me! All the other drains were running ok and there was no evidence of a failing main drain. I called out another plumber recommended by a neighbor who cleared out the washer drain for a charge of $100. I told him about the roto rooter quote and he agreed with me that there was not evidence of drain failure and they were attempting to rip us off!!

My recent experience with Roto Rooter...
The plumbing backs up in the house and I called Roto Rooter. 2 technicians came to the house and decided they needed to do a video inspection. Per the video, the clog was in front of my porch and the pipe was 4' down. Also the original clean out for the house can't be found. They quoted $3,500 to fix.
After I said 'ok' I realized that quote might (?) be a little high.
I called Roto Rooter and asked if I could see the video. The technician said the video was black and you couldn't see anything. Hmmmm...
I called a local plumber - here's what they did.
* Got on the roof and snaked the vent - the clog was still in the house (not in front of the porch) and that cleared it.
* Used a metal rod to determine how deep the pipes are - they are 2' down (it's a lot extra if the pipes are 4' down)
* Installed a new clean out.
For a little over $1,000.00
I've asked a Roto Rooter manager to call me, but haven't heard back
Need an honest plumber - call Legacy Plumbing

I appreciate the follow up response and attention to service and customer satisfaction by Roto Rooter Citrus Heights. Roto Rooter called me the next day after performing the initial work to ensure the work to clear the drain line was still working properly. I told the representative that my drains had reclogged in less than 24 hours after the initial work was completed. Roto Rooter came back out for a 2nd time with two technicians and performed a through camera video of the entire drain lines system and found a new clog farther down the line. Roto Rooter cleared the line again and did not charge me for the 2nd service work performed. I am more impressed with service providers that stand behind their work. When an issue comes up when the customer is not satisfied it is impressive that Roto Rooter quickly stood behind their work to ensure I was satisfied and the extra attention was made to ensure the drain line was clear. I appreciate their service followup and the extra efforts made to ensure the work was complete at no additional charge.

We called Roto-Rooter 24-hr emergency service hot line at: 800-768-6911. Last Friday we had a leaking relief expansion tank on top of our water heater. I turned the main water valve off and Roto-Rooter called back saying they would have a plumber coming to our home in El Dorado Hills in 45 minutes. The plumber, named JOSE arrived about an hour and a half later. He looked at our problem and said that he could place a shut-off cap on the water heater as a temporary fix until he could pick-up the replacement tank, and said he could be back the next day around 1:30pm. This job took less than 10 minutes. He showed up the following day at 3:30pm and replaced the tank. We time stopped him. This job took exactly 28 minutes. He charged us for two hours labor at: $225.00 per hour. After complaining about the charges (total bill was almost $500.00) he said after asking him why he charged us so much, he stated: ""Because I am the best plumber"". We called the office right away...JOSE left...he didn't want to stick around. The office said they would have their manager call me back. His name was RICK BASHLER. No call back. Called again. The representative said Steve will call me back as soon as possible. Two days later...no call back. Now, I am pissed. I call the office again and ask for the corporate office phone number. The representative said that she would have STEVE PARKER from the Corporate office call me back right away. NO CALL BACK. Terrible service!!!! DO NOT USE ROTO - ROOTER PLUMBING SERVICE. They are terrible. Now, I am forced to write to the corporate office because these people don't care about their customers at all and CHARGE THROUGH THE ROOF! NEVER GOT A CALL BACK FROM ANYBODY!

We had used this particular Roto Rooter twice previously, and as we had an issue with our drain water not going to the septic system, we called them early in the afternoon on a Friday. We were told someone wouldn't be able to come out until late in the evening, but we were ok with that. About two hours later Roto called back and said no, they couldn't get a tech out and would not be able to come until Monday. We can't go without water, toilets and showers until Monday so we said forget it and found someone else to come out. We were lucky to find another company at 3:00 pm on a Friday. Not happy with Roto and we will not use them again. If you can't get someone out, just say that up front. Not to mention the other company we found charged us FAR LESS than Roto and were here within an hour of the phone call.
