Roto Rooter San Rafael came to clear out our main line on 3/22/22. We paid $561.83. It clogged again on 4/5/22 when we ran our clothes washer. Contacted them on 4/5/22 and spoke to both Jen (dispatcher) and Jarrod (owner?) on 4/6/22. They refused to send anyone out to thoroughly do the job (clear the main line to the sewer) without charging us, AGAIN! They said their work was NOT guaranteed as there are offsets in the line, but the invoice was not provided until after I had signed the tech's tablet and the invoice sent to me in hard copy. Virtually every home in Marin is going to have offsets in the line. Segmented clay pipe was standard for decades. I'm having to get a different plumber to do the work that Roto Rooter San Rafael failed to do thoroughly. I might also point out that the tech who came was interrupted a number of times by his office, on MY time, checking on the status of the work. HORRIBLE customer service!!! Don't use them!

Since my last review I've had numerous repairs, some rather difficult to access. Good news! My technician, Fernando, is a hardworking, brilliant guy who has tackled and fixed every project.

Do not use this service. I scheduled an online appointment, received an email confirmation, and took a half day off of work to sit home for 4 hours, and a technician did not show up. When I called, they said they had no record of my appointment, even though I had an email confirmation and challenge me on this on the phone. Then, the technician said they'd be out within an hour an a half. 2.5 hours later, he called to say he could not come due to another plumbing emergency, but they could be out tomorrow (which was a Saturday). I just got of the phone to reschedule all of this, at the end finding out I needed to pay an additional $125 for the service because it's now on a weekend - due to no fault of my own. When I raised this issue, I was told there was nothing that they could do. I said I'd never use this company again, and I suggest you do the same - frustrated with clogged toilet!

Scott, showed up on time and with a smile at 7:00am to pump septic tank that's worth three stars...he was nice and explained everything, that's worth another star...the last one is cuz if there was a Roto Rooter calendar, he would be Mr. May! This was my 5th time using one of RR services. Honest folk and pride in workmanship, give them a call.

John came by during the requested time and did a very thorough job clearing an outdoor drain that had roots growing through them. Before he left I asked him to take a look at a toilet that wasn't flushing properly for advice. He diagnosed and fixed the issue in about thirty seconds. Another plumbing company I've used would have tried to sell me a new toilet.

We moved into our built-in-1960 house about 4 years ago, and have had repeated problems with the sewer lateral. We've have guys from different services come out and auger it, only for the problem to return. This last weekend we had a bad backup, and called Roto-Rooter. Richie worked hard to auger it, even going out 200ft, and tried some other ideas but it was clear things were still not right so he suggested a video inspection. Nick arrived the very next morning, and boy, you couldn't ask for a more helpful and knowledgeable operator. He video walked me through the entire lateral out to the street, pointed out the issues, described where everything is under the house, marked the yard and street to show were the pipe is and its depth, and managed to clear it so we're back up and running again. He gave us some tips on how to help keep the lateral working well. All-in-all, a great experience. No hesitation in recommending this service. They have all the latest equipment and really know what they're doing.

I just had our roof fixed and the next day the other end goes out, the sewer.

Roof looks good now, but you really don't want to see the sewer, ever. We waited cautiously through the New Year's holiday weekend to call our local Roto-Rooter dudes on Monday. They were here an hour later at straight time rates. It took them about an hour to do the dirty.
Last time Roto-Rooter's cleaning lasted for over eight years.

If it lasts that long this time, I will upgrade our rating to five stars.
