I had water backing up and escaping from my washing machine drain which is in the basement. Started all of a sudden. I figured that there was a clog in the main pipe that left the house and went to the septic tank. Everything that drained would back up into that pipe. I called Rooter Plus to come out and unclog the pipe. The first question that the lady on the phone asked was how long since the septic tank had been pumped. I have lived there for 6 years and never had it pumped so she indicated that this was likely my problem and that they would come pump the tank for under $200. Tech called the next morning a little later than I was initially told (no huge deal) to say they were on the way. A little over an hour later they showed up, again, later than I was told but they were close. Found the tank and immediately had me sign a damage waver so they could dig up the yard. Dug up and pulled the cover off to immediately start with the """"Oh no's! That's bad. System is not working"""" I've never seen the inside of a septic tank so I didn't know. Suddenly special equipment was needed and the price jumped up an extra $150. Pumped it all out and inspected the drain field. Guess what. Oh no! drain field looks bad. Needs a foam chemical treatment, this and that and now the price is $4,500. This is where is put the brakes on. Checked the water flow into the tank and said it was slow but it was draining into the tank """"a little"""". So I still have what I figured was the original problem. Asked if they were going to clear the line and was told NO! """"We're not plumbers. We just work on the tank."""" is the response I was given. Put the cover back on the tank and knocked the dirt back over it not bothering to smooth it back out or make it look like it did. Just left it there with a pile of dirt on it. After they packed up and left I ended up calling another PLUMBER who came out late that same evening and unclogged the pipe which fixed my issue. After doing some research on my own about septic tanks and how they look and work, I believe that there was nothing abnormal about my septic tank. I would dig my tank up and empty it with a bucket before I would use this company again. It seems like it's all about the up-sale whether you need it or not.

We just bought a home a month ago and today we found water spewing out of the toilet on the lowest level of the house. I called a plumber and the plumber said it sounded like a septic problem, so I called the first septic company I could find online, Rooter Plus. They said they'd have someone at my house within an hour. Then I decided to look them up here on Yelp. After reading the negative reviews, I said, """"oh shit."""" I was on the defensive when they arrived. After quite a bit of digging, they found that I had a clogged/partially collapsed drain pipe and that my septic system was fine. They were very patient as we checked with our homeowners warranty company to see if they would cover everything. Once we got the OK, they hydro-flushed the blockage and all is well. They did point out some items with our septic system that need to be addressed and we are working with the previous owner of the house to come up with a solution as to who's going to pay for what, but we won't hesitate to call Rooter Plus to do the work when it's time to get the needed work completed. Thank God I wasn't paying them by the hour, as they were here for most of the afternoon to find the problem. (Our tank and access ports are covered with pavers and a screened in porch.)

Kind of surprised at how many 1 star reviews this business got, maybe they cleaned up their act. My experience was good, I called them and within a half hour the tech came by and looked at my tank and recommended a replacement tank. So he goes to the shop, gets another tank and installs it in about 45 minutes, pretty fast considering that he had to cut copper pipes, torch connections, remove the old tank, slide the new tank in. I am a happy customer!

I moved into a new home and decided to have the septic tank checked out. I called Rooter Plus and was told the price was $195 to come and check it out. I told the technician the house was vacant for a while and just wanted to be sure every thing was ok because I was putting in a garbage disposal. I also talked to their telephone operator and she assured me there would be no extra charges. After digging a giant hole in my lawn I was told that they needed to use extra hoses at $35 each. They needed 3 extra hoses to get to the back of my house. The technician showed me the sludge in my tank and said that because the house had been vacant for a while there was excessive sludge. Remember I told him it had been vacant. I asked if they could just take out what was in there and he said no. They are charged by the amount of sludge they take out and I was supposedly over their maximum. When I was presented with the bill it was $514.25. I told him that was outrageous and was not going to pay it. He said any other company would charge $200 more than his bill. In exasperation I decided to just pay it and get them off of my property. I told the technician I would find out the truth and if he was lying to me, which I strongly suspected, I would turn them in to the BBB, Yelp, and any body else who takes complaints. These people are unethical, bait and switch you, and shouldn't be in business. Do not use this company. Do not be fooled by their low price.

Terrible customer service. They backed in their backhoe on a trailer then could not back it out. They caused extensive damage to several parts of the driveway and ruined the landscaping bordering said driveway. They dropped sludge and left it for the owner to clean up as well. No apology, not a single word was said and they drove off. I called several times as I was the one who contracted them and they refused to call and speak to me. Instead they called the owner who did not contract them. I will post due negative feedback and start a social media campaign to alert others. The owner and buyer will do the same.

In May of 2012, we had Rooter Plus! come to our house and pump the septic tank. The technician that came to our house told us that we can a 1500 gallon septic tank and charged us accordingly. They also charged us an extra $200 to """"break up the solid waste"""". We paid for the extra large tank and """"break up the solid waste"""" for a total of $579.25. February 2013, we started to experience sewage back up in the bathroom in the basement of our house. My wife went to Henry County Government and retrieved a copy of our septic tank layout and discovered that we only have a 1000 gallon septic tank. My wife contacted Rooter Plus! and scheduled an appointment for them to come to the house for March 1, 2013 to check the septic tank again. She also explained the tank size issue with Manager Steve. He said they would give us a check for the $100 or credit it towards when they came to the house on March 1, 2013. They said that they would be at the house between 12 and 4 pm. On March 1, 2013 we waited at the house from 12 to 4 pm. At 4 pm, they called the house and stated that they would have to reschedule until March 2 between 12 and 4 pm. On March 2, we waited at our house between 12 and 4 pm. At 4 pm, they called again to say that they would not be able to come to the house and wanted to reschedule. It was still daylight at 4 pm and would be for several more hours. We declined the reschedule as to not waste any more of our time. In May of 2012, we were not experiencing any septic tank problems, we only had the tank pumped as a precautious as to not have any problems. HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE

So I had water in my crawl space leaking from underneath my kitchen sink & dishwasher. Rooter Plus came out and gave me a quote for over $2400, then tried to act like they were doing me some sort of favor (""""I'm saving you around $700"""", plus he acted like I should have paid him for the estimate b/c he had to go into the crawl space.) I then called someone my neighbor recommended who did the job for $350. I would only recommend Rooter Plus to anyone who wants to wash their $ down the drain.

$195.00 tank pump is the carrot. With guest arriving in a few days, starring into a 6 foot hole in front yard and being told you need $4900.00 worth of service, is not a good time to shop services. If you have older home, call others and ask prices for crushed pipe replacement, baffle replacement and most important, drain field restore/replacement. If you have anything constructed over either end of septic tank like a sidewalk, ask how much for tank entry! Oh yeah, and if you determine you need a tank pump, chances are you are over the 1,000 gallon mark (outlet) pipe. This is automatic $100.00 increase. Inflated rates are what fund their B.S. discounts and coupons.

This is by far the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They advertise free estimate and $195 special, then add extra fees. The manager went on a tirade about how they do not make money charging only $195 and have to find other problems to stay in business. Bad reviews on all websites. Beware.

The positive experience I had is that Rooter Plus is fast to respond and the technicians are professional. The negative experience sadly over rules the positive. On Monday, my washing machine drained out all over the floor, and the laundry room sink and kitchen sinks were all backed up. I called Rooter Plus (who I had done business with before) and explained the situation. They asked if I was on septic and they said it sounded like a septic issue. Within an hour, technicians were here. They never came inside to assess the problem. With my husbands okay, they dug up the front yard, pumped out the septic tank, added a chemical treatment to the tune of $1675 and did some add'l work. Total bill $3579. Well, the water still didn't drain in laundry room and kitchen. My husband tried to snake the drain but to no avail. I called Rooter Plus back and this time they sent a plumber. Alas, the plumber snaked the drain and cleared it. He didn't charge me to do this since I had spent so much already and they hadn't fixed the problem. But, my beef is that they should have sent the plumber to start with and I feel ripped off by having septic work done unecessarily. They were too quick to say it was a septic issue and they didn't even try to investigate the problem. Now my front yard is all torn up and what probably would have cost several hundred dollars to fix, cost me over $3500. My advice: get a second opinion before having Rooter Plus do any work.
