In December 2022 I purchased a house from Property Seller Solutions. Prior to purchase I hired Rooter Wizard to inspect pipes that could be compromised by roots, and to ensure the plumbing worked as expected. Rooter Wizard completed their inspection and deemed the pipes as functional. Days after the purchase while draining a bathtub the basement flooded.
Both the seller and plumber were contacted but chose to ignore the issue. The professional inspection and repairs made prior to closing were grossly insufficient and expressly misrepresented by Rooter Wizard.
Their grossly insufficient inspection and resultant misrepresentation cost me thousands.
Details of my experience are below. Based on my experience I do not recommend nor would I consider using any of these so called professionals again.
In November 2022 I worked with Joe Castignani of Watts Real Estate to find a potential house to purchase. Based on discussions with my realtor and having learned about the likelihood of roots penetrating underground pipes, a specific inspection of these pipes was needed before purchase. At the suggestion of my realtor, Rooter Wizard was hired for this purpose.
Rooter Wizard sent Kaden Ashworth and Kolby ? for this job. For a short period Rooter Wizard was on site at the same time as the house inspector. Rooter Wizard spoke with the house inspector and told him that the pipes were obstructed and would need to be cleaned. Based on the conversation with the plumber and his charge to ostensibly identify and correct the issues, the inspector did not inspect the drains. Rooter Wizard's inspection revealed that roots and a dog bone needed to be removed to make the line in proper working condition before closing. I paid Rooter Wizard LLC for their professional inspection.
Rooter Wizard was then contracted by Property Seller Solutions to make the necessary repairs. After they jetted the sewer line clean of tree roots they worked to remove a dog bone in the sewer line. Rooter Wizard was going to have to dig outside and break open the pipe to reach the dog bone. Rooter Wizard also said they would install a double sweep cleanout. After repairs were made I learned Rooter Wizard only installed a single 3 inch cleanout sweep because they didn't dig a large enough hole.
Prior to closing Rooter Wizard made representation to me that I had a fully functioning sewer.
After closing, the basement of the house flooded the first time the bathtub was used. Rooter Wizard confirmed an appointment to correct outstanding issues but never showed up for the appointment, and has ignored all subsequent communications. I contacted Margie Broschinsky at Property Seller Solutions, but she also ignored my communications.
Emergency repairs were made by a different licensed plumber. In the course of making these emergency repairs the new plumber revealed damage to the underground pipe that had not been conveyed to me in the professional inspection before closing on the house. The new plumber also identified that the cleanout installation work completed by Rooter Wizard was not to code. I paid for all the repairs necessary to ensure the plumbing was functioning as was represented before closing and had the deficient work brought up to code.
Based on the incomplete and flawed work performed by Rooter Wizard, I contacted the Utah Department of Commerce, Division of Professional Licensing. Senior Inspector Bryan Barry followed up with Kaden Ashworth to discuss the work performed. Kaden admitted to some work but denied installing the deficient single 3 inch cleanout sweep.
I contacted the Utah Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. The BBB representative said he could not locate Rooter Wizard LLC in his database. Rooter Wizard LLC in Sandy Utah is the company name on my receipt and email communication during the pre-closing inspection. In spite of the fact Kaden represented himself as an agent of Rooter Wizard, the BBB representative reasoned that Kaden and Kolby were independent plumbers with no corporate affiliation and therefore closed my complaint. I further researched Rooter Wizard LLC. While I didn't find the LLC I did find a Rooter Wizard, Inc. with the same address and phone numbers. The two entities also have the same principal and contact name Kaden Madsen.
Prior to purchase I hired Rooter Wizard based on my real estate agent's, Joe Castignani, advice for their expert opinion to identify any issues with the underground pipes. Rooter Wizard's work was grossly insufficient in the scope of their inspection and repair. Rooter Wizard scheduled and didn't show for an appointment with me and has not responded to any of my communications since.
Joe Castignani of Watts Real Estate has chosen to ignore the issue. Margie Broschinsky from Property Seller Solutions hasn't responded to any of my communications.
I used and paid Rooter Wizard for their professional inspection prior to closing and they failed and cost me thousands.

The original owner, Jeff, sold the company a few years ago and it hasn't been the same service. Jeff use to answer his own calls or call back sometime within the day for appointments, now, very rarely would you get a call back. Just not as dependable as Jeff.

We bought a house recently and we're getting toyed around with by another Rooter company. We called and Kaden came out to check our line! He was on time, efficient, took his time to ensure things were done correctly, and explained everything to us. We saved a lot of money, and will call them for any future needs! You will not be disappointed with this company! Thank you Karen, and Rooter Wizard!

As a realtor, I call rooter wizard whenever we need a sewer scope. They're always on time. Their rates are reasonable. They even upload footage to YouTube so if my client can't be at the scope they can see the results with their own two eyes as well as speak with the tech.

We called them around the end of March to help fix our plumbing issues. Jeff came and he cleared out the main line with ease. Next we had to fix the washing machine, I'm not really sure what he did but it worked. Now he took out a clog that was in a pipe connecting the sinks. So now we can shower and do the laundry. All for a cheap price of a little over $200. (Which is not close to what I thought it would be). Next time we have plumbing issues we are definitely calling them, thanks Jeff!

Horrible experience with this company. We decided to go in and have them scope a house we were buying. Jeff showed up and scoped the lines and said things were good to go. He explained there were some simple root balls that could easily be removed. After a couple of months we decided to have Rooter Wizard come out and follow up with the root ball removal. During the follow up visit Jeff made comments such as ""I cant believe you purchased this home after I scoped it"" We purchased the home after he gave his assurance things were good. In order to remove the root balls now Jeff claims he will now need another $350 to complete what he told us he would do. It would be great if he included honesty and integrity as part of his service.

These guys are awesome. After being ripped off by Neerings for a simple snake from the front cleanout , I called Rooter Wizard when, surprise!, Neerings didn't solve the issue. They came out on a Saturday with no additional charge and were very courteous and pleasant to deal with. They had the issue solved in less than an hour and Scott stuck around and thoroughly tested to ensure the issue was indeed fixed. I will call them first from now on. Thanks again Scott!

When I called and described my blockage he quoted a price and gave the details for all the potential extras. When he got here he looked it over and said, oh we can go in through the shower and it will be fifty bucks less. It was a difficult cable run and probably took a lot longer than usual, but he charged the lower price when done.
I recommend him and will call him again if I need drain cleaning or plumbing work.

Jeff was on time. He was clean and friendly. He explained the problem clearly so that I knew what I needed to have fixed and why. He gave me some options and didn't pressure me at all. I really feel like he had my best interests in mind. I know he didn't rip me off. I can't say that about most home repair people I've hired.
