Recommended Customer Reviews
They canceled first appointment and tried to cancel second appointment but appeared when I complained. They replaced kitchen faucet with a new unit. After they left, I discovered they had chipped my porcelain sink and didn't say anything.
Doug L.We had water back-up from the clothes washer and it was a mess.I called Rooter Town and they were responsive and had our blockage fixed with 2 1/2 hours. The technician quoted the exact amount and there were no surprises. Great responsiveness and service. Thanks Rooter Town.
TOTAL SCAM COMPANY, RUN AWAY!
I wish I'd read the reviews before ever calling these people... I had an issue with my sewer line that my plumber recommended through my home warranty stated I would need cleaned out by a professional; they gave me a referral for someone who could come a few days later but I had company coming into town that afternoon and hoped to have my issue fixed before they arrived so I called around.
Rooter Town is quick, and that's about the only nice thing I can say.
For the posted online price of $95, they sent a young man named Caleb within a few hours. His report was that he couldn't pass a spot in the line and would send his supervisor the next day with different equipment and a camera the next day for the low, low price of an additional $295. I agreed to this and set the appointment as at that point, my company had arrived.
Enter slick supervisor, Tom... ugh. The next day he came out and he looked at my line and informed me he had ""more bad news,"" of course; but never fear, for the bargain basement price of $5250-8250, his crew could come THAT DAY and dig up my back yard. Wow.
What Tom didn't realize is while he was downstairs, I Googled these guys and found about 50 IDENTICAL STORIES. Apparently, this is Rooter Towns well-rehearsed regular shtick.
Based on this, I declined further service from them. Slick Tom then quickly stated they have many opportunities for financing that don't even require a credit check; we could take care of that right then and there! I declined again saying I needed to make some phone calls and do some research before committing to such an expense. He countered with ""Is there anyone you want me to talk to on the phone, like your dad?""
Now, I maybe a single female homeowner in her thirties, but no dude, I don't want you to talk to my dad.
I asked for a copy of the fuzzy, unfocused video he made of my pipes because I paid for it. Tom actually had the nerve to ask what I thought I would see that he didn't already tell me about... I almost really lost it on this condescending guy.
Thankfully, he made one last hail-mary offer of fixing my issue for $1000 less than previously quoted, warned me my house would fill with sewage if I didn't allow them to fix it and then finally left my house.
I called the company initially recommended to me and they cleared my mainline to the street, re-scoped it, provided me with a clear video of my pipes and left me with a fully-functioning sewage system for about $320 the next day. That man also talked to me like a competent adult and took time to teach me about my house and how to fix things that might come up down the line by myself. None of the scare tactics I encountered with Rooter Town and ol' Tom.
Also, the location Tom marked in heinous green spray paint in my yard isn't even the location of my actual pipes... just saying.
RUN FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.
As far as service I cant rate them. They did give new estimates each time out here. More damage always.
But I will say this. One the 2nd day out here the young man came to my door. Didnt knock. Let himself in. He let my 17 yr old blind dog out of the door. Insisting I sign paperwork. He didn't attempt to get the dog inside. The whole that was dug was completely open. Sign here. Initial here. While I'm calling my dog.
Needless to say he fell in. Has there been any word from them. Nothing. Except for last payment. Which ended up being more than the invoices.
My dog had to be euthanized a few days after the fall.
Be careful whom you hire!!!!!
Michael M.I was extremely disappointed with this company. They didn't seem to. Now what they were doing. Or didn't have the proper equipment. And I had to have another company come in and complete the job they attempted to fix. To charge $540 I found out later was extremely high for they're attempted solution. And then want to do tear up my parking lot to supposedly fix the problem at a 5000.00 cost? The other service fixed the issue in less than an hour with the proper equipment and charged me 125.00
Awesome job, Justin came out and was super clean and professional and got the lines cleared out and said that they could run a camera through the line to check for damage. Well the following day Hunter came out and again was clean and professional with the camera, marked the line and depths of pipe and explained and my options. I found this company very honest and professional. And I will definitely use them again.
Rooter town was hired by our contactor to fix a backup of a newly installed toilet. The plumber assessed the situation and said that there was cast iron plumbing under the pre-existing bathroom in our building that was causing the flushed debris to back up. They cleaned the line and said to help resolve future issues they needed to put in an access line from the outside of the building closer to the original plumbing for easier access and cleanup. They said it would cost $6800. The plumber then said it normally cost $5800 but because of the difficult access to put in the line it would cost me an extra $1000. He assured me this would be the best solution for my problem. I agreed to pay and they sent out a couple guys that dug a hole, attached a pipe to the main sewer line and finished in about 4 hours. A couple weeks later, the same toilet backed up again. I contacted the same plumber. He came out, pulled the toilet again, but this time in cleaning out the line he pushed sewer water up through our shower, through the wall, under cabinets and into the carpet in one of our offices. The plumber's supervisor came out that afternoon and said Rooter town was not responsible for the flooding, but might consider paying the mitigation costs. I asked why I spent $6800 on an access line if this was the end result. The supervisor then told me the sewage water on my floor, under my cabinets and in my carpet was no big deal and that if I just dried it out, the bacteria would die off. We are a health care facility and what he said is irresponsible and dishonest. When I submitted the cost of the mitigation work, new carpet and base and installation cost, Rooter town said they would only pay half of the damages. My interaction and experience has been very disappointing and I feel they have been unethical at best in their business interactions with me.
Sarretta M.I would recommend EXTREME CAUTION if you are considering hiring Rooter Town Plumbers.
We hired Rooter Town (RT) to analyze the sewer plumbing connected to our house. Our neighbor had hired them to do a rather extensive and expensive repair on their sewage plumbing, so we wanted to see if we had similar problems. We were impressed with the first RT employee, Caleb, who was very forthright and professional. He told us that he would need to perform a clean out of the sewer line before they could run the camera through it. He told us that the whole process would cost $345. He personally did the clean out, and left the camera work to another RT employee.
The next RT guy came later, ran the camera, and said that he found trouble at 117 feet. He stated that there was a break/discontinuity in the pipe that was so severe, he could not run his camera any further. He told us that the repair would require digging up our neighbor's yard, would cost $5900, and that it was possible they would find further problems farther down the line, after the repair was made.
Since the quoted repair was costly, we decided to get a second opinion. We checked the reviews for plumbers and noticed that Rooter Town had many negative reviews. We were dismayed to see many complaints of ""scams"" which sounded almost identical to our experience (e.g. a blockage or break found at around 100' downstream requiring a $5000-$6000 repair). We hired another plumbing company to corroborate Rooter Town's findings. This time, we watched the plumber run the camera. He was able to run his camera 160 feet with no problems. We did see a few roots, but nothing requiring immediate attention.
I called Rooter Town and spoke to the plumber who did their original camera work hoping to give them a chance to defend their work. He offered no meaningful defense. After my original challenge, they never called me back.
I admit that the clean out and camera work provided by Rooter Town was reasonably priced. The second company did their camera work for about the same price that Rooter Town charged for a cleanout and camera work. And Caleb was an exemplary worker.
Without further evidence or explanation (from RT), it appears that Rooter Town is scamming at least some of their customers, including us, by reporting expensive problems and quoting pricy, required repairs which cannot be corroborated by other plumbing companies.
Esther B.Pleasant personnel. Drain back up. Had to call in supervisor. Scope ""showed"" break and block in sewer (supposedly). $5,000 later and what? The rest of the pipe is also bad---for another $9,000, they can take care of it. REALLY??? When she said no, they said they'd do it for $6,000. No! Oh BTW, Client was an 88 yr old widow. Shame on this company.
I will never call this company again. Plumber came into home and tracked so much mud I had to get my carpet cleaned. He should have put a cover on his muddy shoes. When I saw the mud on the carpet I started complaining about the mess. He never said -I'm sorry, I'll remove my shoes. He never said a word about the mess he made. He cleaned the sump pump on the patio and left a mess there also. There is a big spot of rust on the concrete. Horrible service- don't call this company.
