Toilet had a leak in the pipe below the floor. Carlos pulled toilet to investigate, placed camera in line and said it would be $2300 to fix. Very, very expensive cost to fix. Ernesto, 2nd in command, did all the work under the house while Carlos was out buying a few parts which took almost 2 hours. In appox. 3 hours the work was completed. One hour for estimate day prior plus 3 hours to fix next morning = 4 hours at $2300. What plumber gets this kind of money??? I feel totally ripped off but had no choice to get it fixed. Be cautious of Rooter Solutions as they say the work is by the job not by the hour. If you can wait, definitely get other estimates.
Low rating is based on the extremely high cost to fix.

We were very dissatisfied with the price we paid for the work that was done. Our water main had a major leak problem in three places which had been going on for several months and we didn't know it until we were getting huge water bills. We contacted this company on a Saturday and they came out right away. They assessed the problem and quoted a price which was quite high, but we were so desperate as the water was gushing and we needed a fix right away. As it turned out according to another plumber, we had been exorbitantly overcharged. At the time we felt we had no choice as we saw our water bill escalating. The work was completed and a permit was issued. There was a small deduction adjustment that was made to the final balance of the bill which we paid. Since it was our fault for not getting other estimates from other companies and not reading other reviews we have no recourse. However, this has definitely been an expensive lesson that I hope won't be repeated. As the saying goes, ""buyer beware"".

TL;DR quoted $1,800 for an issue that my contractor took 15 minutes to fix (and didn't charge me)
I reached out regarding a leak from the hot water line exiting my tankless water heater. The leak had started that day as I had some work in my crawlspace and (my assumption) the guy bumped the pipe when he exited. So I figured not a big issue, likely a fitting got loosened and needed to be replaced as the unit was newly installed a few weeks ago. I don't like to mess with plumbing though, and my original plumber that installed it was gone for the weekend, so I called Rooter.
Rooter came out within 1 hour of calling, which was great. The first guy was a little hesitant to rip out any dry wall in my water heater closet (even though I said it was fine), so he called his supervisor. The supervisor came and, without looking underneath or behind the drywall, said he'd have to re-pipe the whole thing and it would be $1,800!
I told them thanks but no thanks and sent them on their way. Luckily, my original contractor was nearby the following morning and came to take a look. Yep, it was a fitting. He took a hammer and pulled back a 4x4"" square of dry wall, hand-sawed the copper pipe, and then put a new fitting on and connected the water heater again. Voila, it is fixed. It took him 15 minutes.
Beware as Rooter Ventura gets good reviews but based on the area you are in (we are in Carp) I think they route you to the SB office automatically, as I actually called the Ventura office deliberately. I'll never do that again. 1 star for the attempted robbery.

Excellent job! Cole nailed it right away. Sewage blockage is no more. Thank you, guys!

My first contact with Rooter Solutions was with Nancy on a morning phone call. She was professional, took down my information and scheduled an appointment for me. Andy, the technician, showed up on time and ready for work. In less than 30 minutes he cleared my drain and honored the coupon that I had for the special deal. No gimmicks, no side charges, just good service. Rooter Solutions is a valuable asset to our community in Santa Barbara.

Please, please stop playing your commercial with that ridiculous screeching character. I have to change the channel every time. I'm sure you have a great biz and I mean no disrespect to you but please, I'm begging, Take off that commercial.
Respectfully
Sean

please remove that ad, it is terrible!
Also, I had this company come out to view a sewer line, they stated $11,000 of work was needed. We called for a 2nd opinion and we were told there was no issue with the sewer line.
Beware, they lie, cheat and will steal!

Rooter Solutions overcharged me. I was billed and I paid $1,190.00 because I'm a widow and older. Sean Traylor said if I waited it would cost me more and he insisted cleaning the drains that day because it would cost me more if I waited. Rooter Solutions took advantage of my vulnerability that day because of my status- old age and being a single widow. I compared their price with other plumbers in this area of Santa Maria, Ca like Gold Coast Plumbing Solutions and I found out later when the plumbing service was done, that the going rate for this type of plumbing service I need is between $350 to 400 only. I WILL NOT recommend them to anyone.

Both bathroom sinks clogged, they share a pipe, these ""plumbers"" charged us $890 and took a full day to open a wall to clear clog. Once the walls were open, plumber claimed his snake was too small to do much and we needed to re-route our plumbing which we were quoted over $10,000. To recap: He went through the trouble of cutting a wall open and did not have the right tool for clearing a slow drain. I told him ""Do what you can, we can't really reroute the plumbing right this moment."" After two months drains clogged again.
Elite Plumbing came out, charged us $140 and took 30 minutes to use a heavy-duty snake, drains are working 100%. I mentioned to this plumber that we were concerned with the age of the pipes, this plumber clearly was not too concerned, and did not attempt to up sell us anything.
As much as I want to give Rooter Solutions the benefit of the doubt and call them incompetent to an extreme degree, the bottom line is they are unethical beyond belief. They are salespeople FIRST and plumbers LAST. After talking to some friends, this is nothing new, it is not unusual for them to recommend tens of thousands of dollars of work, when a simple repair is all that is needed.

Great job and great service. Called at 12 noon in Saturday tech was here by 2pm pipe replaced and fixed by 315.pm Jesse was a great tech fast and knowledgeable. Cant ask for a better experience! Thanks Jesse.
