Unfortunately my home warranty chose this company to replace a leaking water heater. Technicians came out on 5-17 to look at our water heater located in our home. We had already turned the water off and unplugged it however it was still spilling/leaking into the crawl space below it so we had laid a bunch towels to help absorb the water to prevent further damage. When the technicians arrived we explained the issue and they said that it couldn't be repaired that it needed to be completely replaced, we could not risk it breaking again so we went ahead with ordering it. We told them it was still leaking before they left, they did not open the vents to look, they did not drain it before they left. We called after they left and asked the company to send them again to drain it, they refused and said I would need to call the warranty company again to set up a new appointment. We then called the warranty company and they said we would be charged another fee to send them out, I was like you have got to be kidding. I called the company back and begged them to send someone asap to prevent further damage at that point the water had not leaked into our floors or the adjacent closet, they refused. They let that water heater sit in our house full of water till 5-21. By the time they came we had water damage in the closet and the flooring, the same technicians came back, we told them what happened and all they could do is say that they were sorry they did not know. Then after they installed the new water heater, to test it they opened the bathroom sink and the "apprentice" that was with the main technician, left the water in master bath running, it overflowed over into the carpet in the master bedroom. Their way of making up for it is leaving a jar of their sink de-declogger and to say sorry. Finally, they did not give me an itemized receipt they said I had to call the office and when I did, they refused to give one to me, even to this day, they said that I needed to call the warranty company as they do not itemize, they just provide what the warranty says it covered and not covered, I have never heard of this, it makes no sense. When I tried to go to the warranty company they said that's not true so here I was water damage and being the go between with the company and the warranty company, I finally gave up. They sent their "water damage" company they work with, which I had to an file insurance claim to pay them and to get the floors fixed, totally not happy that the company would not even reimburse me part of the $700 I had to pay out of pocket for the portion the warranty company would not pay. It was a total nightmare, I will never use this company again. Let's hope what work they did do, never fails I would give no stars if I could, unbelievable, lack of customer service and willing to do a simple drain of the water heater, which would have prevented further damage and more issues to our home.

If I could give them a zero I would. Let's just say not everyone needs the sale pitch for the water heater. Just because I am a female also doesnt mean I am stupid enough to fall for your sale antics. On arrival Shamar states he thinks the settlement in my water is the water softener not the water heater, despite me not having hot water, when the hot water was working it wouldnt even fill a bathtub before running out. I had these fools out with OHRP warranty. They told me they changed both water elements, both T-stats. That it was a temporary fix till I got a new water heater and that i needed all these crazy "remodifications". I can tell you after the sales pitch my gut said not to trust these two workers. Then after all the "supposed replacement of elements and t-stats" they turned back on the water not having the top sealed off from how they "de-pressured" it. and it exploded water all over my laundry room, back room. The tech originally didnt offer me any repairs for the saturation to my laundry room. Upon asking for it, he called his boss and his boss stated "let her keep the 75.00 service fee for dog food" and then approved the restoration company to come dry up the mess. The ceiling above the water heater was 40 in moisture also known as saturated. Once the restoration was resolved, they are refusing to re-attach the baseboards that were removed due to the their employees flooding the room. When I had another plumbing company come out they laughed at the fact that they wired the T-stats backwards, the wiring potentially fried the power to the top of the Water heater at the whip, or the water from it exploding and them not drying the site after turning off the water before sealing the top of the water heater back.
I called ORHP after speaking with Rooter man on Saturday 4.17 because i had no hot water still after service tech was out on Wed 4.14. Since it was saturday they told me i had to wait till monday. on Monday 4.19. ORHP told me that they didnt have the claim, and that they would call, they came back on the line and megan at rooter man told her he was putting in the claim now, the orhp employee told me the tech was actually just on the line next to her just then putting in the claim on 4.19.21. I called and asked Rooterman when they would be out for the claim, and the manager stated the soonest she could get out possibly if they could get a water heater was 4.22 and she couldnt tell me a window or time, leaving my house without hot water for 19 days.
I would run far far away from this company. Most of their employees aren't even plumbers registered with the Texas Board of Plumbing examiners which is another red flag!!

Review for 31 July (this morning)- I am updating my review at this time. Once communication finally started, due mainly from the efforts of Christine, the office staff which began at 1630 on 30 July to 2130. Christine got in contact with the owner of the company and the technicians, she called me at 2130 to let me know that the technicians would be out this morning between 0800 to 0830. I received a follow-up call from the technician Cody. Both Cody and the main technician James Fry arrived about 0830, they were very nice and apologized for the continued damaged that was caused due to the first 2 technicians that came on 25 July and did nothing to stop the constant trickle of water that continued until 29 July. These 3 people, Christine, James Fry, and Cody, redeemed Rooter Man. They were pleasant when speaking with me and showed genuine concern regarding the added 5 days of water causing damage that could have been stopped on 25 July. I didn't hear from the owner of Rooter Man, but I will say you have a wonderful office staff in Christine because she addressed this issue, on a Saturday, while at home with her family. Rooter man has a great individual as their communicator in Christine. Also, the 2 technicians that arrived this morning, James Fry and Cody, were very professional and they sure know their work. They did a great Job and I thank you for that. All that is left now is dealing with the water damage which was estimated by a water restoration company of $1600, but that was before the added 5 days of leaking. My home warranty company covered some of the installation of a new hot water heater and Christine told me we would discuss some compensation for the mistake the first 2 technicians caused on Monday, 1 Aug 2022. So in closing of this updated review, I want to thank Christine, James Fry, and Cody, these 3 individuals saved Rooter Man's reputation in my eyes. Would I use Rooter Man again, absolutely, as long as I can establish the initial communication with Christine and hopefully, James Fry and Cody would be the technicians sent. GREAT JOB!!!! AND THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!

Review from 23 JuIy to the evening of 31 July- I wanted to not give any stars, but the review would not post without at least 1 star given, however, Rooter Man does not deserve even 1 star. I found a water leak on Saturday, 23 July, I notified my home warranty company, and a technician was scheduled to come between 8 am and 5 pm on Monday, 25 July. After waiting all day because that is what you have to do, be available on their time table, 2 techs came to my house. They said they were draining the tank and a new water heater would need to be installed. The 2 techs ran a garden hose from my water heater to outside, through my house, and told me to leave it draining and to top it off, it was still leaking. I then waited until Friday, 29 July before 2 other techs came to my house to install the new water heater. These 2 techs acknowledged that running the hose and letting the water heater continue to leak, was very bad work, and told me the 2 techs from Monday, would not have a job. After taking the water heater out, 1 of the techs told me he needed another part and could he come back on Saturday, between 11 am and 1 pm, I said that would be fine. At 1230 the next day (Saturday), the tech calls me and says he has a "family emergency" and he couldn't give me a time, but it would be today. I spoke to him again sometime after 4 pm and he still couldn't give me a time and added he "hoped" he could get there today. I have called the office number and office woman called me back, she said she didn't know anything about an emergency, because this is the same tech that was on call for today. She told me she would be calling the owner and could he call me, I told her yes. It is now 1938 (7:30 pm) and I still have not heard from the tech, the office woman, or the owner. I still do not have a water heater installed, and the water damage at this time has risen to over $1600. Right now, if you need this company's service, run away as fast as you can!!! I am going to encourage my warranty company that they need to remove this business from their service and I am going to be making a major complaint to the Texas Consumer Affairs office in Austin. I am in total disbelief that a company would do something like this to a customer. I think I may also be filing a case against them for the continued water damage I had from 25 July to 29 July. I am also hoping that perhaps the owner might see this review and call the customer like his office staff has been trying to get him to do since 4:30 pm this afternoon. BAD BUSINESS!!!!!

My tenants had been without plumbing almost a week. No other plumbers could get out there and I called Rooter Man and they were able to come the soonest. They did an amazing job getting everything up and running and pricing was very fair and competitive. It was a complicated job and they handled it perfectly. Constant communication throughout repair process and took the time to explain it so I could understand. Highly recommend.

I had my floors replaced few weeks ago. I had a leak under toilet in the master bathroom and filed a claim unfer the home warranty company. When I told the guy about the floors being replace he immediately blamed it on the flooring company. My son was also here and knows they are not at fault. They replaced the floors in b
th bathrooms and the quest bath no problem. The tech only wiggled the bolt and stated they had over tighten the bolt and broke the flange. He did not check to make sure just got up and stated it was not covered by warrany and that was the end. I ask him if he was going to check and he stated he had been doing this for 17 years and new what was wrong. I later talk to a plumber and he asked did he pull the toilet. No Well how can he be for sure. Come to find out it is not the flange but a leak at the tank. Do not use this company..... under any circumstances. They think because you are a woman you are stupid. Most of my family or plumbers but only in another state. Women are not stupid. He did not even check for water leaks any where else. Called warranty company and voiced my my concerns about company and stated if I had another problems dealing with this type issue I would refuse this compan,ys service. This is Temple Texas don't know why it states California

These guys were stellar. I've had multiple companies come out to work on plumbing in the past and these guys knew what they were doing and went above and beyond to alleviate to problem - which, I might add, they identified immediately and differently than anyone else. I'm thrilled. Excellent work! Also, they were so polite, explained everything to me and even worked with my schedule. Legit work!

The plumber that came to my home was not only rude, he also lied to my warranty company. In his report, he stated that my water heater was leaking. It was not. The thermostat died and was no longer heating the water. He took my $75 service fee and left. They give away free in-home estimates all the time. They undoubtedly received notice that my claim was denied and they haven't reached out to offer a cash option to replace my water heater. That tells me they were only there to take my $75. Also, since my water heater was installed in 2006, no licensed plumber, regardless of the issue, would attempt to repair it. It's out of code at this point and the entire until has to be replaced. I am contacting my bank and having the $75 refunded to me.
