Rooter-Man was founded in 1970 by Donald MacDonald in North Billerica, Massachusetts. Thanks to our dedication and passion for resolving plumbing challenges, Rooter-Man became a prominent name in the plumbing and drain cleaning industry in the Northeast. In 1981, Rooter-Man started franchising, choosing only the top professionals in plumbing and drain cleaning to join our brand. Rooter-Man has grown to a network of more than 480 locations in the U.S. and Canada due to our success. We have been honored as the #1 Franchise Opportunity in Plumbing, Sewer, and Drain Cleaning by Entrepreneur Magazine for the past ten years. Each Rooter-Man location operates independently and is locally owned.

In 2003, my wife and I seized the chance to buy an existing Rooter-Man franchise. With our last savings and three young daughters, we made the leap. Brenda had her doubts, but my experience in sewer and drain cleaning gave me confidence. We expanded gradually, growing our territory and team, creating a family we cherish. We learn and grow through our experiences, our daughters, and trial and error. We have tapped into the knowledge of other franchise owners; it’s been gratifying to be part of this network. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve our community and expand our business while raising our kids.
