Rooter-Man was founded in 1970 by entrepreneur Donald MacDonald in North Billerica, Massachusetts. Through dedication, integrity, and a commitment to addressing plumbing and drain cleaning challenges, Rooter-Man evolved into one of the largest plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning firms in the Northeastern United States. Rooter-Man began franchising in 1981, selecting only the finest talent in plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning to operate under the Rooter-Man name and service guidelines. Due to remarkable growth and achievements, Rooter-Man now boasts a network of over 480 locations throughout the United States and Canada. Rooter-Man has been honored as the leading franchise opportunity in the Plumbing, Sewer, and Drain Cleaning category by Entrepreneur Magazine for a decade (2003-2012). Each Rooter-Man franchise operates independently and is locally owned. My wife and I took the opportunity to buy a Rooter-Man franchise in 2003. We invested our remaining savings and brought along our three young girls. Though Brenda was nervous, I was self-assured, having years of experience in sewer and drain cleaning. We grew steadily, increasing our territory and staff, forming a team we are proud of. With our hard work, our daughters, and lessons learned, we keep progressing. Over the years, we have benefited from the insights and experiences of fellow franchise owners; it has been fulfilling to be part of such a supportive community. We appreciate the chance to serve our community and grow our business while raising our children.
