The year 1970 saw the inception of Rooter-Man, thanks to CEO Donald MacDonald in North Billerica, Massachusetts. Through dedication, integrity, and a commitment to resolving plumbing and drain issues, Rooter-Man evolved into one of the largest plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning firms in the Northeastern United States. Rooter-Man launched its franchising program in 1981, handpicking the best in the plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning industries to uphold the Rooter-Man brand and service protocols. As a result of outstanding growth, Rooter-Man has developed a network exceeding 480 locations in the United States and Canada. For the past decade, Entrepreneur Magazine has recognized Rooter-Man as the top franchise opportunity in the Plumbing, Sewer, and Drain Cleaning category (2003-2012). All Rooter-Man locations are locally owned and function independently. In 2003, my wife and I seized the chance to acquire an existing Rooter-Man franchise. We invested our remaining savings and brought along our three young girls. While Brenda was apprehensive, I felt confident due to my years of experience in sewer and drain cleaning. We expanded gradually, growing our territory and team, creating a family-like atmosphere we cherish. With our work, our daughters, and lessons learned from trial and error, we keep progressing. We have gained valuable knowledge from other franchise owners; being part of this extensive network has been rewarding. We are grateful for the chance to provide service to our community and develop our business while nurturing our children.
