Established in 1970 by entrepreneur Donald MacDonald in the town of North Billerica, MA. Driven by diligence, transparency, and a desire to address plumbing and drain cleaning challenges, we expanded our reach to establish itself as a leading providers in the plumbing and drain cleaning sector throughout the Northeast U.S.. By 1981, we started franchising, handpicking the best talent in the plumbing and sewer sectors to operate under our brand. Thanks to our expansion, Rooter-Man now boasts a network of more than 480 locations in both the U.S. and Canada and has received accolades the top franchise opportunity for plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning by Entrepreneur Magazine for ten consecutive years between 2003 and 2012. Every Rooter-Man franchise is locally owned and managed.

In 2003, my spouse and I decided to purchase a pre-existing Rooter-Man franchise. With the last of our funds along with our three daughters, we made the leap. My wife was apprehensive, yet I remained confident, having years of experience the field of sewer and drain cleaning. We grew steadily and increased our service area and staff to create a team we are proud of. Through our efforts, our daughters, and learning from mistakes, we keep growing. Throughout the years, we have benefited from the wisdom of other franchisees; it has been fulfilling to engage with this vast community ready to exchange knowledge. We are thankful for the chance to serve our community while expanding our business and raising our family.
