Rooter-Man was founded in 1970 by entrepreneur Donald MacDonald in North Billerica, Massachusetts. Rooter-Man grew into a major player in the plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning sector in the Northeastern United States, fueled by our dedication, transparency, and a desire to resolve customer issues. The franchising journey for Rooter-Man began in 1981, as we selected only the finest experts in plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning to carry the Rooter-Man name and follow our service guidelines. Due to remarkable growth and achievements, Rooter-Man now boasts a network of over 480 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, and has been recognized as the top Franchise Opportunity in the Plumbing, Sewer, and Drain Cleaning Category by Entrepreneur Magazine for a decade (2003-2012). All Rooter-Man locations are locally owned and function independently. My wife and I took the opportunity to buy a Rooter-Man franchise in 2003. With our last savings and three young daughters, we made the leap. Brenda was nervous, but my years of experience in sewer and drain cleaning gave me confidence. We grew slowly, increasing our territory and staff, fostering a team that we are proud to call family. Through our dedication, our daughters, and learning from our experiences, we continue to develop. Throughout the years, we have tapped into the expertise of other franchise owners; it has been gratifying to belong to such a collaborative group.
