Rooter-Man was founded in 1970 by entrepreneur Donald MacDonald in North Billerica, Massachusetts. Through dedication, integrity, and a commitment to addressing plumbing and drain cleaning challenges, Rooter-Man evolved into one of the largest plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning firms in the Northeastern United States. The franchising journey for Rooter-Man started in 1981, selecting only the finest talent in plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning to operate under the Rooter-Man name and service guidelines. As a result of outstanding growth, Rooter-Man has developed a network of over 480 locations in the United States and Canada. Entrepreneur Magazine has rated Rooter-Man the #1 franchise opportunity in the Plumbing, Sewer, and Drain Cleaning sector for the last ten years (2003-2012). Every Rooter-Man location is independently owned and operated within the community. In 2003, my wife and I seized the chance to acquire an existing Rooter-Man franchise. With our final savings and our three daughters, we took the plunge. Brenda felt anxious, but I was assured, having years of experience in sewer and drain cleaning. We grew steadily, broadening our territory and adding personnel, creating a team that resembles a family. Through our efforts, our daughters, and learning from mistakes, we continue to evolve. Over the years, we have gained insights from fellow franchise owners; it has been fulfilling to be part of such a supportive community. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and develop our business while nurturing our children.
