Bizarre company... the guy who came to help us with a leak one time, Dave, was rly nice. Then we called again to get a quote for another job and the owner or whoever was responding to texts was bizarre. They wouldn't give me a quote until I sent them the other quotes I've received. When I said no, he said they wouldn't do business with me.
Just very unprofessional and also weird? Felt like I was honestly getting pranked with the these texts. Won't contact them again...

Charged me $237 over the phone to have someone come out. Person was several hours late, rude, disheveled, unprofessional. Didn't even LOOK at the problem (which was a sewer pump in our basement) ... just stood outside the basement door. Said it probably needed to be pumped out and cleaned. I said ""okay"" and he said he couldn't do it, but they would call me and schedule. Never happened. I've called them and contacted them via their website request form and never received any response. I have tried to recover the $237 they charged me to do literally nothing, but failed so far. Chase VISA was no help and reinstated the charge after receiving a bogus ""invoice"" from the merchant (which was not signed anywhere on the document by me and I had never seen). Will pursue via small claims court. Beware of these guys. From looking at some of the other Yelp posts, it appears this could very well be their modus operandi.

I had the same experience as all of the other 1 star reviews. I just got off of the phone with who I presume is the owner and he was swearing at me saying ""I don't know sh**! I was quoted $850 to have a sewer pump looked at and to have the tank pumped out. First I got a call from the pump truck driver wanting to be paid in advance wich I thought was strange and he charged $750 to take the lid off and pump the tank. Then I got another bill from the actual plumber who charged me $550 to remove the same lid the driver removed with the pump attached to it and inspect it, and then another $175 to change the floats. So I paid nearly double for horrible service, not doing what we agreed on and not doing it when I was told.

Unprofessional, Greedy, Misleading. Those are the first 3 words that come to mind when thinking about Rooter Man in Truckee.
$550 for a 15 min visit in which I did most of the work. They agreed I had been grossly overcharged by the visiting plumber and they promised to refund me $275, then they never did. It was all empty words and promises. (Even worse, they wanted me to post a positive review first. Is that extortion, or what.? )
If you need a plumber and are thinking about calling RooterMan in Truckee, think again!

Give me a call first and I'll tell you in detail what kind of business they are...Despicable.

My review for Rooter-Man is a two-fold review. The first time I called them in late March of 2020 (covid lockdown time), I found sewage backing up into the newly installed bathtub in my under construction bathroom. I freaked out and called Rooter-Man at my plumber's recommendation. Daniel came out the same day to snake the line. Everything was great for a few days and then the backup started again. Again Daniel came out to scope the line and found a piece of tile and a piece of broken mirror on the line. He fixed the problem and saved the day! He was efficient, helpful and really nice! Fast-forward to November 26th, 2022 (Thanksgiving weekend), that same bathtub stopped draining and backed up water every time the toilet flushed, so again I gave Rooter-Man a call. They sent Rory over this time and he went out of his way to keep the place clean and dry as he snaked the line and found the problem with the actual pipe grading under the condo. Like Daniel, Rory was great to work with and laser-focused on doing his job right. I hope I don't have to call them again, but I think my condo was originally built pretty poorly, so I know I'll be in good hands if I do.

The drains in my house backed up the morning of NYE 2023, with sewage coming back up into my bathtub. After speaking with the Alpine Springs Water District and determining it was not a city problem, they recommended I reach out to Rooter-Man as the team that would be able to help me that night. Sure enough I received a call back within 2 hours and had somebody at my house within 4 hours. The team was very up front about the expense of an emergency call on NYE and helpful in quickly diagnosing and resolving the problem. Additionally, I was given advice on how to manage the situation going forward so that I can resolve the problem myself in the future or otherwise manage it better.

On top of the fact that this was an emergency call on the eve of a holiday, the roads had been pummeled by inches of rain the previous day and feet of snow had been accumulating that day. I was sure nobody would be able to come until the next day, but Rooter-Man pulled through.

I highly recommend Rooter-Man for your plumbing needs.

Paid nearly $1000 for guaranteed unclogging of our drain. They refused to go through toilet and went through a tiny drain in bathroom sink instead. They never finished the job, but kept the money anyway. We then paid another company half that and they unclogged by going through the toilet drain with no problems. Rooter man is a rip off. In addition to stealing from us, the manager/owner's son was the meanest and most unprofessional person we've ever done business with. I recorded our conversation on video and when I have time I will post for others to see the level of disrespect and immaturity this manager showed.

My hot water tank quit working and Rooter man was quick to come out and fix the problem. All good until payment. They require a 3percent transaction fee on credit cards. (not disclosed) I have offered to pay by check and they want me to sign a docusing contract stating that I agree to a 3 percent charge and then they will refund my card after my check clears. The man on the phone won't identify himself, he used the f word. Said he would talk to me however he wanted. He said he does not trust the customer. Very sad day for Rory who did the work. I won't use them again.
