Horrible! Had them out exactly 30 days ago [warranty period ends today] for a clogged kitchen sink. Only company I could get out. Talked me into a $360 ""pressure wash"" seemed to work. Now today guess what - my kitchen sink is backed up. Called company supposed to be 24/7 emergency service, can't get anyone out until Monday. Guy on phone was ""I just answer phone"" Last time use someone unverified.

Technician (Gabe) was polite and professional. He was friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. He communicated through all the time he was working on cleaning my sewer line and answered all my question. I also wrote a good comment on his invoice for his supervisors or managers review.
However, scheduling and communication with the office in Sacramento was extremely negative. First day, they gave me appointment for 12 noon. They were supposed to call 30 minutes ahead of time. They didn't. I called once at 11:50 and again at 14:45 after waiting so long. Then at 14:45 they told me they will show up any time AFTER 12 noon without being able to say what time!
Eventually they called around 5:30 pm to show up! I hesitantly rescheduled for day after. I was lucky to have Gabe as my technician the day after. This company needs to improve its communication with customers.

I went to their website that literally said ""Bathtub installation in Rancho Cordova, CA"" I called the number to make an appointment for a quote and the guy that answered the phone said they don't install bathtubs. I said, well your website says you do. He asked, Where are you located? I said Rancho, he said we don't install bathtubs in Rancho. WTF?

After a polite initial call I decided to make an appointment to get an estimate to replace a faulty water heater. I patiently waited at home to meet with the person this company sent over but surprisingly he never showed up. A few hours after the time we were supposed to meet someone from this company called me to let me know that they had to reschedule. Guess what, since I wasted my day U will just look for another company.

Rotter Man Plumbing definitely came to the rescue!! I was very impressed with Rooter Man, not only were they priced very fairly but they were also very prompt and completed the job on time! What could have been a nightmare situation turned into a breeze. I will ONLY be using Rooter Man Plumbing for all my future plumbing needs. I called Rooter-Man for my Aunt, because she had called someone else a month ago who ripped her off and didn't even solve the problem. This time the cost was $100 less and she now has clear running drains. The other guy didn't go far enough to find the roots that were the source of the stopped up plumbing. I give them 5 stars! This is the second time I have used them with very successful results. The first time was on a duplex I rent with a common sewer line. Both sides were clogged and they were able to determine which side had caused the stoppage. Love these guys!

Plumbing emergency? RooterMan for Grass Valley, Nevada City & Penn Valley is highly recommended. Steven came to the rescue with a calm, (important because I was scared it was going to be very expensive repair) professional attitude, carefully evaluating my recent pipe-leaking emergency. He explained each step of what he was doing, was courteous and thorough from start to finish, and took time to tidy up as well. His work was high quality. It was a great relief to me during a stressful time to have experienced, trustworthy help with a fair price--and they offer senior discounts.
They do thousands of repairs annually. Most customers do not take a bit of time to review a good job but they deserve this one. You'll be in good hands.
I'm aware of the other negative reviews, but perhaps the company has gotten rid of those former employees? I will use them again, but hopefully won't need a plumber anytime soon:)

So, the moral of the story is look at Yelp before calling anyone. Panicked a little to come home and find the septic backed up. Went with the first live call, the service guy actually showed up promptly. Too bad he was unprofessional in so many ways, charged us $400 for essentially nothing but snaking a drain and offered no help to get the septic tank pumped which was the issue in the first place. After he left called the main #, assured that all would be made right at 9am this morning. Waited until 11 to call him, as no one had called or come out ""Oh, I forgot to dispatch someone...what is your address again?Seriously?? And then he yells at me for not calling sooner and having a reputable septic service come out. He said he would refund some of the initial $400spent last night. I would be glad to report how that turns out. In the mean time, do not use this company!
News update... the service tech and his supervisor show up unexpectedly about 12:30...not sure why...I tell them to leave, they come back a few minutes later, Jose wants to make it alright. He offers a $200 refund, I take it. At least one person at this business is interested in customer service. Jose, I am sorry you work with such losers.

THESE GUYS ARE SCAM ARTISTS!!!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!!!

Here is how they do business:

Step 1: You call them in an emergency situation, and they know it.

Step 2: You ask for a quote to fix, they won't give it to you . They say the MUST come out first. They also won't quote you an hourly rate to fix the problem, which all other repairmen do. Stay tuned and you will find out why they don't.

Step 3: They come to your doorstep and know you that by that point, have no choice but to use them because they are already there.

Step 4: They won't do the work for an hourly fee. They give you a GIGANTIC total fee and say the job might take the whole day. They rationalize with you that they are taking on all the risk and not you.

Step 5: After you reluctantly agree to pay the gigantic fee for what you are lead to believe is probably an entire day job, they then magically finish the job in minutes and force you to pay the gigantic fee.

Step 6: Rooter Man Plumbing laughs all the way to the bank.

They also do not provide the correct legal forms along with their paperwork (most notably, right of rescission), which they are required to do by both state and federal law. They THINK that they only need to do this over $750, so they will quote you right under $750, so as to skirt the law (or what they think is the law). In actuality, the law states they must do this over $25.

If you have an issue with them, good luck getting anything done. They have a well trained front office lady who will always tell you that nobody is available to talk to you, no matter when you call. They also won't give their address out, so you can't go see them. They also don't respond to emails.

These guys are the worst scam artists I have ever worked with in my life. Stay far, far away.

EDIT: Almost 2 years after writing the above review, I just had the **exact same** problem happen in my house again (same everything - it was awful). I called a different plumber, Ken of Payless Drains and Plumbing in Folsom, and he did THE EXACT SAME JOB for $110, thereby confirming what I already knew - Rooter Man Plumbing is a SCAM OPERATION that takes financial advantage of people when they are at their most vulnerable. I hope so bad they go out of business.
