Jim C.Similar to other complaints. Coupon was worthless, when the driver called (bad reception) he apologized and I thought he said it would be $95 to rod a p-trap. When he got here it was $195. Again, the guy doing the work was apologetic about their (IMO) deceptive coupon. Then he tried to rod and couldn't get through the p-trap in the floor (cement slab). Told me it was probably rusted out (galvanized pipe) and it would be ~$2800 to tear up floor and repair.
I busted up the floor myself and the p-trap was intact. I suctioned out the trap it was apparent he was just stuck in the plug area at the bottom of the trap. I bought a drain king device from ACE and cleared it myself for about $30. I think the previous guy just new how to sneak past that plug area and rod it out. I think he honestly thought it was rusted out, so I did not rate a 1.
We had this company rod our kitchen sink. They were not able to resolve the problem and the plumber said we would have to replace some of the pipe in the crawl space. We had another plumber come out and he was able to rod and fix the problem by rodding the sink at a lower cost. He said we did not have to replace any pipe in the crawl space. Very poor quality and would not recommend.
We used Rooter Inc. Plumbing and Sewer Specialist of Richmond Il to replace a buried sewer pipe outside of our home. Their crew was efficient, capable and pleasant to talk with. They showed up when promised and finished before any of us expected. We are very happy with their work, their price and their clean up. We highly recommend them.
BEWARE of this company! I called these guys as water was backing up from my basement drain. They spent about 10 minutes here and charged us $299 and did not clear any tree roots out of the line. They then offered me a special discount price of $5,986.00 to replace approximately 13 feet of clay pipe in my front yard due to ""3 breaks and 1 separation in line."" Their price seemed excessive so I called another plumber. The other plumber spent over an hour here and cleared a lot of tree roots out of the line. He then put a camera down the line and reported no breaks. He said you just to clean the line out once a year. I will never use Rooter, Inc. again.
Called Rooter Inc. on a Sunday because water would come up through the floor drain on the first floor when you flushed the toilet on the 2nd floor. (house is on a slab). They said they could come out the same day, GREAT, Received a call about an hour later saying his tech was in an accident and could not come out until Monday. (turns out that they used this excuse with other people) Came out on Monday and checked the pipe using the camera and said that the pipe was back pitched and that a 90 deg elbow needed to be replaced. (under the slab in the middle of my house) and quoted $4586. I gave him the job and he came the next day and proceeded to chop up my floor in the middle of my house. As expected it created a mess through out the whole house, ( they made minimal effort to cover anything or control the dust). They replaced the 90 and checked the floor drain after flusing the toilet , still came up but did not overflow. Was told it was because the drain was too close to the stack going to the 2nd floor. OK your the expert. After 2 weeks we kept getting sewer gas smells in the house. Long story short, 16 months later I was tired of the smell and having to flush the pipe with fresh water. Called another plumber, checked pipe with camera and found the same back pitched problem in the same spot. They saw the repair with the camera and said that it was not fixed properly. They said 12 ft of pipe needed to be replaced not just the 90. They gave me a quote of $5150. which included rodding the entire main line. $500 difference for an entire pipe replacement. Hmmm!!
All said and done the pipe was replaced and tested and never drained better. Rooter is not the ""Honest Plumber"" that he claims to be. My fault for not getting another opinion.Although we had to endure the mess and the destroyed ceramic ,(that we just replaced) they made sure they covered everthing and kept the damage to a minimum. Please be very careful with this company and make sure you get a second opinion. My opinion is to stay away!!!!
Finding a good, honest service is hard, but I truly got lucky finding a plumber! My sewer was backing up and I called Chris at Rooter, Inc. He came when it was convent for me. He fixed the plumbing, didn't give me a song and dance, gave me ALOT of very important information about the village I live in and told me how to save
a ton of money with my sewers. He's information got the village out here the next day to fix part of the problem that was their responsibility (I had not idea). In addition to being honest and helpful, he had a very generous coupon that I was able to use, I rarely find a service that I would recommend to a friend, but I would definitely recommend CHRIS at ROOTER, INC to anyone - they are honest and provide quality work.
Thank you Lou at Rooter inc for taking care of my plumbing issues! Great service, reasonable prices and the service tech Lou was one of the nicest service employees I ever had come to my home. I will definitely call them again!
Avoid this company. Forceful employee's looking for a full days work. Told me I needed a cleanout and had to remove my driveway. Told us 4000 dollars and if I wait the price will go up. Do not use these guys. I called the owner, who barely cared about the issue.
