I was told the plumber would come between 12 and 2. He arrived at 3 on a Friday and stayed twenty minutes. Told me that my disposal pipe leak was a water main leak, despite the egg shells and beans and soap bubbles on the floor. When I called to complain, the woman who answered the phone i formed me they were closed and hung up on me.

I have a rental property in St. Louis and am now living in Washington, DC, so I rely on honest businesses locally to complete needed work. NOT RON'S!

Before you say that's not typical of the other reviews, let me caution you that I personally do complete gut rehabs and remodeling on all of my rental properties. I am very familiar with plumbing, electrical, and construction. The other people were probably duped as I would have been had I not been knowledgeable. I am also a successful hospital executive that knows business and customer service, and the only way to improve both is by educating the people. I hope Ron's learns from its mistake and betters itself.
Story:
My renter called me without hot water. I did a local Google search and found Ron's. After his/worker's assessment he immediately said there was a water leak at the top that ran inside the water heater causing a short circuit and the whole unit needed replaced for~$950 and to dispose of the old electric unit (installed in 2009 new, manufactured in 2008). This did not sound correct so I called my father, a licensed plumber, that lived 200+miles away. He had concerns as these do not short circuit and at worst would need the heating element replaced and/or the thermostat. I then called Ron back and shared with him my concerns. He then offered an ""up to"" $400 option to fix the leaking pipe and replace electrical components as needed as he didn't think it would be a good idea to invest $400 into an 8yr old unit was his reasoning for not offering that option first. I then called another licensed plumber. He came by and noticed that the only issue with the water heater was that the circuit breaker flipped on the wall because there was a leak at the top that dripped onto the wires. He fixed it in 30 minutes with a new pipe and flipped the breaker. SURPRISE: No issues with the hot water heater at all. When I contacted Ron via text with the discovery he chastised me claiming that I was the ignorant person. Little did he know that my father and I did the remodeling on that home in compliance with all city codes as reviewed upon by the city inspectors.

Total savings $850. Others that have claimed how great they are were probably ripped off and don't even know because of their ignorance of plumbing.

STAY AWAY IF YOU'RE SMART.

Since I found Ron's Plumbing & Sewer Service on Yelp in January of this year, I have used this company more time then I can easily count. I have worked with Jason, Matt & Chris as well as Ron, himself, and Linda.

Just as the previous reviews promise, they are honest, quick to respond, and helpful.

After buying a foreclosed condo in Saint Louis City that had had its water shut off for over a year, I discovered multiple problems with the plumbing. Ron's Plumbing helped me through every issue.

These are the services they have performed: repairing copper pipe that had burst,
replacing the tub (they provided the tub), installing all sinks, drains, the shower hardware, the garbage disposal, installing a toilet (I provided the toilet), removing and replacing the water heater, repairing all the PVC plumbing (it had not been done properly to begin with and the second floor tub drain was draining toward the tub AND it the plastic pipe had snapped), and repaired plumbing in the basement that was bending due to the 100+ year old condominium settling.

I have been so impressed with their consistently excellent service, that when the condominium's plumbing main backed up (imagine a port-a-pottie backing up into three units and you are halfway there), I recommended to my Condo Association to hire Ron's over their usual contractor. Ron's Plumbing was prompt, corrected the issue (which was no small feat), and 100% upfront about all the pricing possibilities.

One thing in particular I really appreciate about Ron's is that they are completely upfront about the cost. If there are variables that may affect the price, they let me know before ever starting any work so there are never any surprises on the final cost. Also, if there are any ways I can save money, even if it means walking me through something over the phone (thus alleviating the need for any service call), they do so without hesitation.

I HIGHLY reccomend hiring them for any plumbing needs that may arise.

I was out of patience with plumbers because of a string of bad experiences. I got a referral for Ron's Plumbing through a friend and scheduled an in-house review of the work I needed done. Matt came out, did a thorough review and gave me a fair quote. We scheduled the work, which was completed by Jason in a very competent and professional manner. He even stayed longer than he planned the first day because I only have one bathroom and my shower had a surprise problem at the end of the work day. Ron, the owner, brought the parts Jason needed to repair my shower so he could get the work done. Every scheduled appointment time was met, and I was kept informed at every step of the work process. I am very happy with the quality of work, the value, and especially the customer service.

I was experiencing some issues when my washing machine was draining my bathtub would back up with water. A friend of mind recommended Ron's Plumbing. The woman that answered the phone listened to my issue told me it sounded like a drain clog, quoted me a fair price and said she could send a guy over tomorrow afternoon. Considering this is between Christmas and New Years Eve I was shocked they could get to me so soon. The guy came over unclogged my drain. He was quick, friendly, professional at a good price. He let me know my sewer pipe was new. This was nice because I have only been in my house a 1 1/2 years and this information was unknown to me. He told me some things to avoid to prevent this from happening again. I will highly recommend them family and friends in the future.

Is it wrong to say that Ron's Plumbing has given me hope that not EVERY PLUMBER is out to screw you over??!!

I've been a home owner since '95 & I haven't had very promising plumber hiring experience. I've made due here & there put stuff off, did stuff myself, whatever cause I had no luck hiring decent people.

But Ron has changed all that!! I called when i had a kitchen sink back up and my garbage disposal stopped working along with my dishwasher. Ron was out the next day, fixed everything & replaced my disposal all in about 2 hours & the price was really reasonable.

I'd totally recommended him to anyone needing a plumber!
