I have been a customer of Ron's A1 Plumbing for over ten years- starting out when located on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood.

Over the years, the service has been responsive and timely. But the last two service calls, especially the last one, leaves me scratching my head.

I had a problem with a brass sprinkler that required replacement. I was detailed in my email along with some close up photos of the valve needing replacement to ensure an exact fit. The first call, I left a message in the morning but no return call. Later that morning I called and talked to Roxy to spell out the problem and told her I would mail photos. Roxy assured me they would address the issue when an email has been received.

The next day no call from Rons A1 Plumbing. I called again and spoke with Roxy who assured me that she would speak with Ron.

No return call the third day.

To make the experience even worse, when Roxy answers the phone, the reception is she did not want to be bothered. Really?

After waiting five days, which was more than reasonable, I went on Angie's list and found a reliable, timely, trustworthy and excellent service to replace the sprinkler valves.

At this point, after a decade of being a customer, it's ""adios.""

My hot water heater wasn't venting properly. Omer ""inspected"" and gave me a quote of $1200 claiming that he would need to tear open the walls all the way up to the 2nd story of the house. Alternatively, he could install a tank less water heater for $2400 plus but would not need to tear open any walls. The next day, I called a company with integrity and they diagnosed an avocado blocking the vent, which they removed. I saved $1100 at least. Save your time. Save your money. Save your aggravation. One star rating is too high.

This is a thank you to Ron's A-1 Plumbing, in response to their stunning customer service.

I have had good service from Ron's in the past (hence two stars) and so called them when our kitchen faucet started leaking. The plumber we've had before (forgotten his name) came out and fixed the problem; in doing so, however, the hot water line got clogged and greatly reduced the water pressure. He fixed this problem as well.

A day or so later, the hot water lost its pressure again. I called Ron's and asked for our previous plumber, since he was already familiar with the problem. A different pair of techs arrived, and as I was trying to explain the problem, the lead tech very seriously said ""well, hot water always has a lower pressure in any faucet, that's just a regular thing."" Without even once yet looking at my faucet.

I looked him dead in the eye and said, ""Um. No."" I knew then that this was going to be a different experience.

So the pair start to mess with my faucet, trying to figure out the problem, and after about 20 minutes they have fixed it. The hot water pressure is strong and fine. They explain to me that there was no blockage, that they had to jury-rig some of the lines to get it to work right, but they can't go any further with it because then they'd have to take apart the faucet. That seemed pretty questionable to me, but the pressure was working so I was fine with it. They left. When I turned on the water about 30 minutes later, the pressure was *worse*, barely a trickle.

I immediately called Ron's back, and asked to schedule the first tech I had worked with, who understood the problem. I had a couple of calls with the scheduler (who was helpful and professional throughout) and finally set a date and time. An hour before that appointment, I received a call from the *owner* (Ron himself?), who told me - even though he has never seen my faucet himself - that the problem was with my faucet and that they would have to take it apart to fix it and they won't do that and the only solution was to get a new faucet so we're not going to come back out to fix your problem. Needless to say, I was stunned.

I have never heard of a plumber who can't take apart a faucet - their first tech had no problem with it. So - back to Angie's List and I found Ford's Plumbing (please see my review.) Their tech, Riley, came out the next day and not only gave me excellent, professional customer service during the free estimate, he also told me exactly what was wrong (a blockage in the faucet cartridge) and how to open the faucet and fix the problem myself (which I did). I have found my new plumber, and that never would have happened if Ron's A-1 Plumbing had carried through with their responsibility and fixed my faucet. So thanks, Ron's A-1 Plumbing! I've got a great new plumber!

These guys mean business.
Super professionals, knowledgable, accurate and reasonably priced.

Last year I had a tankless water heater issue, they solved it in two hours (two other plumbers recommended replacing the unit...), and it wasn't a brand they normally work with.

Last month we moved, and called them again to replace a water heater for tankless, all I can say is WOW. They take their work as if it was art...

Very inspiring! We will definitely use them again.

I have used this company many years ago on a big job, and were so happy with them, but forgot their name, found them on Yelp, and called for a leak, they came within a couple of hours, repaired the leak and charged very reasonable. I will for sure have them in my contacts from now on. they are great.

This morning, I woke up to a severe leaking in my bathroom. Arrrr so annoying! Had to shut the main valve and wait.
Found those guys on Google, and I held my breath hoping that they will arrive as fast as possible.
7:15am knocking at the door, he showed me the burst pipe and I was thinking its gonna be a while before he'll get the part from the store- what a surprise! He had the part in his van :)
8:00am took a shower, and left my house on schedule! Thank god! And thanks Ron's A1 plumbing!!!

The worst service ever Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Their work was fine we had a tankless water heater installed two years ago. I called them as I stated in my previous review to schedule a yearly maintenance call. As with installing the water heater they postponed. I had enough of their postponements so I called another plumber who showed up and serviced my heater two years in a row no issues. Imagine my surprise this week when I received a letter from Building and Safety asking me why the final permit wasn't signed off. Ron stated he did that after the installation but no he never did schedule the final inspection. The inspection people were so polite and caring obviously this wasn't Ron's first time. The inspector showed up today and we passed which we assume we would. Ron did excellent work but his customer service is lacking and follow up is even worse! When asked for a recommendation I always recommend our new one, he shows up when he says he will does quality work and I have no aggravation from him! I don't think it's appropriate to name names here or I would give you his name and number.

The owner called me today that would be Ron. It took him a couple of weeks to get back to me re the Permit issue. He said he was out of the office. When I called I spoke to Omar who is his partner so unsure why Omar couldn't handle the problem? Ron claimed the paperwork was given to us. According to the office that handles permits Ron should have called for a final inspection which Ron vehemently denied. To me Ron should have scheduled the final inspection. One of the problems with Ron's business was the business manager he had. Abel was rude and abusive to me many times when I called. Apparently Ron got many complaints and Abel is no longer with the company. I found Omar not to be much better. Ron would do well to hire someone to answer the phones who is customer oriented which neither Omar is and Abel wasn't. Ron tried to make amends which were really appreciated but we have moved on and found another plumber who does good work and actually shows up when he says he will. Ron postponed me every time I scheduled. I will say in his defense he does good work.. Perhaps with Abel gone, Omar will schedule better. We were pleased with his work installing the water heater, not pleased that the work wasn't signed off and the constant delay in getting work done both installing and the clean out a year later.

UPDATE.

Two weeks after installing, this company sent us a $415 invoice for additional work done at our property. This was not pre-approved by anyone - nor did we inspect the work as we were informed that it was covered by the company.

The company that came out to ""snake"" the lines on Friday . When I arrived home on Friday evening - the bathroom downstairs was backed up from the ""snaking"" of the lines earlier that day. I called to leave messages, and on Saturday morning, spoke with the owner who indicated they would have someone come out to the house to correct it at no charge.

They will not get any repeat business from us, and I would not recommend them to anyone.
