Josh Roland is the absolute BEST! A total professional! I called him to bid a job for us in a home we had recently purchased, he answered his phone on the second ring, he made the appointment for the next day, and I received his VERY FAIR bid that evening. (We had two other plumbers here before Josh, both who spent over an hour here going thru what we needed to have done and then we never received either bid!) I called Josh the next morning and immediately got on his schedule. He completed all the work according to schedule and at a very fair price.
As others have said in their reviews, he is very good at communicating if anything changes with his schedule or he sees something that needs to be brought to your attention (and there was quite a bit that needed correcting in this house). We had a drain line backup the first week-end we lived in the house and I sure wish we would have known about Josh then. The plumber we called ended up charging us over $900 to snake out the line and the clean out drain (it took two trips). It was still backing up when Josh was here four weeks later. He went under the house to investigate and discovered that the drain line (original to the 1950's house) was the issue. He changed out the line for 1/3 of what we paid the other plumber to snake the line and the problem is solved!
Do yourself a favor and add Josh to your contact list. If you need a plumber, he is the one to call!

I hired Josh Roland for very minor indoor, moderate outdoor plumbing. Seemed knowledgeable, answers phone quickly, leaves area neat. But other than first appointment he was very UNRELIABLE. 2nd apt was Tues afternoon. Arranged my sched & got everything ready. As afternoon wore on I called to see when arriving. Said he planned to call me that night (?!) Truck problem Sat, fixed this morning. So he knew he wasn't coming days in advance but never told me. Not thrilled but let it go. He added a WPV & moved 2 handles. I had said high as possible & explained why location of 1 was esp important since I use several x a wk. Where he placed it was impossible to access without moving something every time plus awkward to turn on/off so I had to pay again to have him re-do. Also a nearby $350 (plus labor) device that had never leaked, started leaking same day (reason unkn).
That day I asked him to return because a shower head was now completely clogged (probably debris - he s/h bled line through hose bib as he did subsequent times at my request). Despite a 5-min task & he drives by wkly, it took 3 wks & several phone calls on my part plus his reschedules til he finally came. Did not charge to replace the shower head so I gave him cash. Decided to replace newly-leaking $350 valve and asked if he could do it since a simple cut & splice - said yes. But I ended up having to wait over a month and as usual having to call him several times since he never called when he said he would. Finally sched for 10a Friday but late Thurs night he called to reschedule yet again. By now I was very frustrated with him but needed to finish before rain so agreed. During these months I always arranged my schedule for his availability. If he had told me it would be over a month instead of dragging out esp without contacting or updating me, I would have hired someone else, no hard feelings.
I showed why where he put handle wasn't practical and he said he would reverse it. Unfortunately I again didn't monitor his work since it was so simple and I was busy. Was dismayed to see that although the irrig handle was easier to access it was still low and Master water valve handle was BELOW GROUND LEVEL - unbelievable!! I'm not assertive so didn't complain; thought I'd try to work with it but too impractical - could not spend 10-15 minutes digging it out in emergency. Plus more expensive irrig valves now leaked after his nearby work (cause unkn). When I called, he made a rude comment. I was very nice during these months including the very end and thought we'd share the blame - me not monitoring him or complaining, and him not clarifying or using common sense but he placed full blame on me and it started to get heated as he got very nasty - his nice-guy facade gone. He also claimed he gave me great deals even though he charged me for everything including going to buy parts he s/h stocked, at his regular rate of almost $100/hr (only ""discount"" was $40 off what he charged to re-do HIS mistake after I said something) and compared his rates to a major plumbing co. we had laughed about their exorbitant rates (at least they would have sense to not put handles below ground level especially when customer said high as possible....) But I bit my tongue and said let's just get it done. As I started re-explaining what I wanted he grumbled he could have been done already. Again I bit my tongue instead of saying if he'd listened or used common sense neither of us w/b wasting our time and $. This time I watched the work. I stayed out of the way but was determined to have it done right. Saw 2 more examples where he doesn't think things through but I caught both in time. Plus my new $350 valve he installed leaks at times which he said is normal (I called an expert who said it is not).
I give him a 3 rather than a 2 because even though angry, it appeared he maintained standards rather than slapping it together. I hold my breath hoping that area doesn't have a blow-out especially where it is now a bit crooked/tweaked. When I hire a GOOD plumber to replace the now-leaking irrigation valves I will have the re-do checked.
While I will never hire Josh Roland after this nightmare, if you do - be sure you're on the same page and monitor the work.

Highly recommend Josh with Roland plumbing. He has done several plumbing jobs for me and always does a great job. I really appreciate the fact that he's on time and communicates with you prior to the appointment. Once here, he's fast, cleans up and is super friendly. His rates are also good and he doesn't charge you more than the job and time entails. Whenever I have a plumbing issue I will be using Josh in the future!

Josh is fantastic! He communicates throughout the day if anything changes, finishes on time and does a spectacular job. Not only does he show up on time but with a smile. I will use them every time for plumbing issues!

It's me again... with more praises for Roland Plumbing. One more remodel and Josh came out, moved water and gas lines to accommodate kitchen lay out change.
Josh is thourough in his work, timely, a pleasure to work with and gives me plumbing peace of mind.

Josh is AWESOME! This is the second time we've used him and have not been disappointed. The first time he repaired our water line that got damaged during construction. Today he installed our new kitchen faucet and hooked up our disposal. He also moved the gas hookup to our stove so that it would go flush against the wall. He provides great customer service ... he even snaked our kitchen drain because he noticed the water was draining slow. He is very responsive and reasonable. Would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great plumber!

Josh was recommended to me by a plumbing company in Fallbrook. Originally, he replaced a water heater for me and showed up on time and charged me exactly what he quoted me. Since then, he has replaced a faucet and completely re-plumbed a bathroom for me.
I trust Josh so much that he has access to work at my home even when I am not there. His prices are reasonable, he responds to me telephone calls and texts rapidly and he has been very flexible with me and my schedule.
You can't go wrong with Josh Roland as your plumber!

Referred through my electrician, I have a very old house and am remodeling my kitchen. Everything you uncover is wrong or dangerous. Josh does a super good job and has an honest, up front business style. You know what your getting, and it's very reasonable. Changes are billed reasonably also. Great job, and pricing means I have confidence, and now have a new go to plumber.

I had a leak and desperately needed a plumber. I called the one we had been using for some years, but they were too busy. They said they would make a special trip-charge overtime rate of $150 per hour to accommodate me. I decided to look elsewhere--I guess customer loyalty did not matter to that plumber!
My sister-in-law recommended Josh Roland. I called him and explained the problem. He was courteous, and very helpful, told me to turn off the water until he could get here, and came as soon as he could. He went into a 150 degree attic and immediately spotted the pinhole sized leak in the elbow of a pipe installed 30 years previously!
Josh made my day. He is very professional, friendly, and fair. All are important for building customer loyalty. His attitude and competence led me to take my time to write this review. Please try Josh--we need to make his business successful so we will always have a licensed, fair and reliable plumber we can count on!

We highly recommend this company! Josh came out and looked at our problem (broken sewer line) and gave us a free estimate. He was fair & gave the best estimate of the 3 we received. He scheduled a time to come out & do the work, was thorough, and finished that day. He even charged less than he initially estimated because my husband had done some of the labor ahead of time. We will definitely call him again (although I hope we won't need to!) if anything else comes up. I've already recommended him to a co-worker.
