When first walking in Chris (employee) asked for my husband instead of addressing me on what the problem was. Then when I gave him the information he asked me to call my husband so he could get a better understanding. We had our unit installed less than 2 years ago and on the back of all the paper work it says 2 years guaranteed work. He proceeded downstairs was gone for 5 minutes. Came back upstairs and sat in my upholstered chair (that now smells like smoke) to tell me that the short in my system was probably our fault and I would be charged $286 so they could find the short. I told him we had a warranty and he again stated it was probably our fault. I told him to go fix it but was extremely flustered with the false advertising of free labor. He opened the door to my downstairs and proceeded to tell his counterpart ""you can't please everyone"" I told him not to talk about me in my own home. They were downstairs for less than 5 minutes and the air was on. I believe before I was charged the $286 to ""find"" the issue that he already knew what the issue was. He again sat down in my chair to have me sign stating he fixed it. Very frustrated to feel insulted in my own home and the lack of respect for myself and my furniture which now smells like smoke. I will not be recommending this business.
I was charged $69 for an AC tune-up that amounted to a sales pitch for a new AC or furnace/AC combo. There was no tune-up done whatsoever.
I wouldn't even give one star but I have too. I think this company is trying to be a good company but the employees and the equipment are setting them up for failure. I wouldnt ever ever pick this place again
Cuky H.Roger was on time and explained to me the problem with the back up sump pump. He carefully showed me the options I had and gave me a quote for future services very professional man and polite . I highly recommend Roger the Plumber for plumbing service. Honest !
Geoffrey N.Our shower drain in the master bathroom either went on strike or simply died from consuming too much human hair.
Adam did a quick, professional job of snaking the drain pipe, which required 45 feet (full length) of his plumber's snake tool, and almost an hour of his time.
The estimate was accurate and he spent additional time with us, discussing which possible screens we should buy, to cover the drain, and protect it from further debris.
They charged me over $1700 to replace a copper shut off valve..this required saudering. The job is actually over $2000 but if you buy their service club for $119 you get to save money! What a joke-so they can come back a break something else? The guy was in and out with his dirty shoes, left shards of metal and water all over the floor. Dumped some water down the drain and spilled it all over the area rug. One month later I noticed he left our fire alarm covered up! Terrible!!!
They were called out for a backed up sewer. Any other plumber would have charged $120 to clear a 50 foot section of pipe but they charged 275 to my elderly mother I believe that was way to much and they should go back and take my mother at least a hundred back. He worked on shuff he shouldnt have even thought about. If he took out the copper pipe I would also like to have that brought back as well.
Quite frankly, I will never call Roger ever again. Terrible customer service and they don't send their technicians with the proper tools to get the job done the first time.
Called this plumber company after seeing their tv ad for the $59 ac tune up. They showed up on time and was nice. He spent about 30 minutes inside and out then rang the doorbell and said he needed to show me what he found. Without going into great detail what the conclusion was is that we needed $8,000 worth of work and replacement parts!! One thing he did say is that our filter was not installed properly and the fix was a $250 addition to the unit. I listened and told him I was not going to do the work but he said if we didn't we had a chance of dying when the heat came on due to leaking C02. I told him no and asked what he did. He said that the $59 was just to look at the unit. I reluctantly gave him my cc. I then called another HVAC company after a recommendation from a friend. They came and I showed him what the previous guy had given to me regarding the required repairs. He said he'd look at all of it. After an hour he came upstairs and laughed saying the guy was a liar and a thief. All we needed was a new filter and a small repair that was $39. He told me that many of these big plumbing/HVAC guys are paid commission that's why they do what they do. The net net... this is a scam and a terrible company so do not call them!!!
**READ ALL REVIEWS BEFORE SELECTING ***
I called for someone to come check my A/C unit because there was a new, unusual noise. I had turned off the unit waiting for arrival.
A young man came, and started telling me what a piece of junk I had for an A/C (and furnace). Granted it is older (13 years old). BUT! He took the ""cage"" out as well as the motor. He said it was the motor. Price? $1700. I DIDN'T have him do the work.
I read the reviews too late or I would not have selected them in the first place.
It appears from the reviews that like myself, older women appear to be targeted.
I asked around and was referred to COMFORT HEATING AND COOLING 816-322-1013). I called the same day the first guy was out, and Comfort came out, checked the unit as the first guy did, and I was told ""the cage"" was the problem. They were kind enough to explain, how and why. They didn't have one in stock. He told me that his ""parts guy"" would get a price in the morning and call me at 8am. 8:10am I received a call, and was told that the price (parts and labor) would be $300.
They wouldn't be able to come out until 4. I was got a call to let me know they were on their way. The guy came out , put in ""the cage"" (I was skeptical). He turned on the A/C and it worked like a champ. (It's been a month).
I asked about the age of the unit and he explained that units around 15 years old should be replaced because parts start wearing out and by the time you're nickeled and dime for each repair, it was more efficient to replace the whole unit.
I cannot recommend Comfort Heating and Cooling enough.
