I was referred to Rod by a Nextdoor app neighbor, and when I checked his other yelp reviews, I found they said the same thing, so I call Rod. Rod was busy for several days, so we booked later than I preferred which he knew. I got a call from him the next morning said he had a window to come by right then, and so I jumped on that. He was willing to wait about 15 minutes nearby as I wasn't available right then. Rod assessed the situation, even went up on the roof to make sure the vent was installed, and gave me a different diagnosis of my kitchen sink plumbing cast iron pipe problem which a previous plumber gave me and quoted me $325 to fix what Rod said didn't need to be fixed. Instead since it was only a snake the drain problem, he suggested another company which only does snaking and who's price he knew was lower than his own. I declined! I told him I would rather pay him more for the above and beyond customer service call at no charge which he gave me! He snaked the drain in the time frame he said, and also fixed a few other things there at no extra charge. I told him he is now my ""go to plumber""! I highly recommend Rod. He's honest, competent and experience, but more than that, he clearly has the customer's best interest in mind.

We've used Rod's Rooter twice so far on the house we recently purchased and both times have been great. Rod was fast and friendly and let us know when he was on his way. We'll definitely be calling him for any additional plumbing needs.

I should have wrote this review a long time ago. Rod has been servicing my house for about 3+ years. He's is reliable, friendly, and does everything in a timely manner. He explains what is wrong, what needs to be done, why it needs to be done, and quotes a accurate price with no hidden fees.

READ THE 1 STAR REVIEWS PEOPLE! There is a consistent message in all of them - This guy (Rod) is a complete arrogant and inconsiderate jerk. I referred him to complete a sewer line scope for a client of mine scheduled for noon. I talked to him at 12:00 on the dot and let him know someone should be there to let him in the building and I would also be there within 5 minutes, he responded nicely ""no problem"". When I arrived at 12:05, Rod and his worker were there, I apologized for running just a few minutes late. After I told him this, he absolutely lost it and said he didn't need this job and was leaving to eat lunch and go home. He immediately got in his work truck and sped off before I could say anymore. I called him to ask him to please come back and preform the job promised as we were on a deadline to get the inspection done. He said you should have been there waiting for me with the door open at noon on the dot and again that he was done for the day and going home. He repeated he didn't need my business and wouldn't come back then hung up on me. Rod- no one told you to become a plumber and if you don't like it then don't promise people jobs you aren't going to follow thru with. One day very soon you will need my business because no one is going to use you treating people like that. DO NOT use this plumber unless you enjoy bowing down to people that treat you like crap. There are plenty of other plumbers in town, no reason to work with this low life. You have been warned. (we ended up using cass plumbing and they were great!)

We had Rod come out for our house inspection and paid him a bit more to do a more extensive inspection (leads up to the city's sewer line). He found a tilt in the pipe connecting our house to the sewage line which would eventually lead to a back up in our pipes (gross).
We decided to go with Rod to do the job because he was professional and responsive.
During the job, Rob was super quick and efficient with his time. He explained clearly what he's doing and the why behind it. He double check his work and make sure that we are satisfied.
Greay service and awesome guy! I fully recommend him and would definitely call him back if I need a plumber.

I have lived 3 houses away from Rod for 10 years. In that time he has helped me with several different plumbing situations where I was in over my head (replaced a water heater, replaced a toilet, unclogged a pipe outside, and other jobs). He is an easy guy to work with who does quality work and shows up on time. I've also referred Rod to my in-laws who live near us. Always a great experience. Highly recommended.

Rod is the best plumber there is! He is great! He is very reasonable and super intelligent. He knows exactly what you need and he will explain everything to you in detail! He is very caring and he did so many things that he didn't have to and he didn't ask for more! If you need someone who does excellent work and is super friendly choose Rod! By the way, the lady who posted the one star wasn't even his customer and she didn't know what she was talking about. He was very working while she called and he said he would call her back to explain more after he was done with his work for the day! He still is the number 1 plumber in San Diego and the best in my opinion!
