Had an plumbing estimate done did not get anything in writing no contract and that was a grave mistake , initially $600-800, bounced to $1800, dropped to $1500 as he was unable to install a garbage disposal. none of the valves were installed as requested . We had three leaks contacted Angi's list, sent in a complaint/ photos and nothing was done . I had to get a licensed plumber in to repair the leaks and install the valves . What took him 15hrs , took my licensed plumber 4-5 hrs to repair the leaks and install the valves . Tried to contact Mr Rodrigues both he and Angi's list were not interested in resolving the issues.
We replaced an old tub. Alex came out and said it was an easy job, just pull the old one out, taking first row of tiles out and putting new one in. Well the completed job is a mess. After initial install we had to call Alex to come out and level the tub, it was tilted significantly. Alex stated that it was tilted so water would drain well. Tubs are built to have a tilt in the floor and the one thing American Standard told us was that the tub had to be level, that was key. Once Alex came and leveled it a little we paid him in full. The following day my husband just stood in the tub to see how it was and notice the tub moved. He called Alex twice but we have never heard from him again, I guess full payment means full amnesia. Fortunately my son-in-law is handy and he came to look at it after working a full day. After looking at it he shard that Alex had attached the tub to old wood that was free standing, meaning it was not attached to anything so the tub moved. He built a new frame and reattached the tub and put in some more screws firming up the tub. He said the framing would have taken about half an hour when the tub was out but took a few hours because he had to work with the tub in from a very small closet access point. Images below show that the tub was not put in far enough, causing the spout and drain not to line up. Also 2 rows of tile were messed up because the removal of the first row was so poorly done. The spout was over an inch away from the tile and the tiler tried to get it closer but had to put significant caulking to make a seal. The spout is now leaking after only 2 weeks. Alex was a nice guy when seeking the job and respectful during the job but clearly was over his head with this task. His complete disregard for calling us back after being paid I guess shows that he does not stand behind his work. We were stuck to complete this job, even badly, because we had out of state company staying with us for 2 weeks. They just left and even stated the toe stopper had issue, the problems just keep coming!
